An old world hotel in East Jerusalem ”

Friendly staff; ambience; location convenient to Old City; price, free WiFi

The hotel is very close to the Damascus Gate of the Old City and has the flavor of Arab East Jerusalem from the lobby to the suites. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was more than adequate with wait staff in the dining area. It was a little difficult to find in the street mosaic of Jerusalem and street parking was limited so we parked in the hotel garage for $20/night. Transportation is easy since there are many busses and a new train line which stops at all the key tourist locations. The room was decent with a bedroom and living room with kitchenette. They did not provide coffee or tea so we bought our own at the 24-hour market around the corner. Some parts of the hotel appear to need some repairs or improved maintenance. Part of the charm is the authentic old world feel and service. The shower hose was not anchored to a secure support which caused it to spray all over if you did not hold it while you washed. I reported it to the desk who wanted to repair it, but we asked them to wait until we checked out. Overall, a good value and a nice choice for us.

the staff . all very clean
the taste of the decorating was not upscale american - but then it's not america!

we were two american women staying one week alone in jersalem. we chose the addar because of its ideal location (5 minutes walking to the damascas gate). the front desk staff was terrific, helping us with small computer and camera problems. the breakfast staff made eggs especially for me one morning when the buffet had already been finished. the htel was very clean although the decorating was very middle east, heavy drapes in dark reds and blues. we needed to use the sofa bed and they brought us an extra pad so that it was comfortable. its small size is a big plus because they looked out for us, always knowing where we were. it is across the street from the american colony hotel so if you need a meal, their resturant is great.

                Centrally located, Friendly staff

It was a pleasant experience to stay with Addar. The room is spacious and at a very reasonable price, given that Jerusalem is an expensive city in general. The staff can speak fluent English and they are very helpful. You can walk to Old City (Damascus Gate) in 10 mins.

Hotel is in a walking distance them the Old City Jerusalem. Room was significantly bigger than I would have expected for the price paid. Staff was forthcoming in addressing our special requests.

We used the hotel as a place to recuperate after extend walking tours in Jerusalem, and it served the purpose well. It should be noted, however, that the entrance to hotel is from Nablus Road, in front of American Colony hotel, although the formal address is on St. George street. Also, I have to mention that wi-fi was not stable during our stay, and at one point it took almost 12 hours to fix the problem.

the staff of the hotel was very helpfull, the deluxe rooms were quite big and the bathroom and bed was very clean. Perfect location really close to Damascus Gate of the old City. Airconditioning was good.
needs to be refurbished. Old furniture and equipment. Poor breakfast. The curtains and other furnitures in the hotel needs to be cleaned properly.

We stayed 3 nights in Addar Hotel. The manager was really helpfull. The taxi drivers look they do not know where is the hotel but if you tell them just opposite the American Colony they understand the location immediately. It is relax and good quality for its price. Best thing about the hotel is the location. Have many other good hotels around it and it is very close to old city. Lovely view on the top floor.

Good location, friendly staff, decent hotel

We had a mishap with our original hotel in Jerusalem, so booked this last minute because of a great deal online. The guy upgraded us to a 2 room suite because they weren't that busy. It was a decent large room. The location is great. 5 minutes walk to the new tram line, 10 mins walk to the old town and in and around a few other hotels. While the place is past its prime, its neat, friendly and serves a decent but basic breakfast.

                Loctiaon and price

Be careful about which room you stay in - the ones with fake hard wood floors are nicer (cleaner) than the ones with carpets. Its an older Arab-style hotel, which is quite dusty & a bit shabby but it does the job. Best in the price range in Jerusalem. The men who fix the breakfast are really very sweet, but the guys who clean the rooms could do a better job!

                OLDER HOTEL - POOR BBREAKFAST”

This hotel is in need of some serious TLC. Its a bit run down for the price being asked. The breakfast consisted of Dry bread and a choice of three spreads and three beans olives etc. No milk was provided for the English Tea. The orange juice was more of a cordial but acceptable. The King bed had a Double quilt so my feet hung out all night. The staff were really good and helpful. Its just a really pity the breakfast was so so basic that all new guest I saw took a photo of it and all were disappointed. I will post a google review with pictures

                Very good location,nice room

The hotel itself it`s located 5mins walk from oldcity. So it`s very convinient for the visitors. The Room we booked from Agoda it`s a Superior Suite.the room itself it`s very nice and clean. Just one problem is when we checked in the people in the check in counter told us we need to check out at 10AM instead of 12AM in the second day.The reason is they have a big travel group will come.only in this point we are not so satisfied.

central location near the hotspots from jerusalem, good accomodation”

good valueu, nice room, spacious and good bed. Mini supermarket nearby that can outbeat the big ones in terms of price and quality. Parking a car can at a cost of 15 eur./20$ (opposite of legacy hotel)than it is guarded and safe, it can also parked for free at the other side of the Rotary/roundabout, but if you find it back the next day is than allways a question.(theft&damage is Always a risk in Israël)

                Jeruselem Hotel Experience”

Good value for the money; the rooms were big and the housekeeping was immaculate.
We had difficulty finding the hotel without a GPS. Had we known the general location we would have saved considerable "driving around" time. It would be better if they had restocked the breakfast buffet more regularly.

We booked the hotel through your site because it had received good reviews in the past and because of the price for a suite. The staff was helpful and cordial and the suite was perfect for our stay. We would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to travellers looking for a "non-western" feel in a hotel in Jersuselem.

                Good value”

A good value basic hotel in an excellent location a gentle 10-15 minute stroll to either Herard or Damascus gates. Obviously does not have the facilities of the 4 star hotels around it but it is half the price.
