Quiet Retreat with stunning pool”
Pros: Great pool. Good view Polite and attentive staff Quiet and tranquil. Interesting outdoor shower with hot water and big tub. Kitchen open and serve decent food. Cons: Some Mosquitos Not much to do in the villa if you're staying for a few days Secluded Location Pay extra for floating breakfast.

super duper amazing”
agoda said its in ubud area, well in fact its like 20 minutes further. but when u see it by yourself. u will cancel all your booking and extend more days in here. everything is good, rice terrace, river, forest, peace. the best place to relax. no need to go outside the villa. food are great, staff are amazing.
Paradise on Earth”
i went to Ubud mainly after seeing the cool pics of the pools hanging through the green scenery. we chose this hotel because it was cheaper than others having the same nature view. but it turned out we were lucky, we were the only guests in the hotel, we had the pool to ourselves (it was a bit cold and rainy) but unforgettable experience. Staff, room comfort and food we great. recommend this place to honeymooners or anyone seeking complete relaxation.
Piece of paradise.”
I like this place. Sure it is a bit of a walk to the rooms but worth it. There are a number of villas to suits all tastes and sizes. Views are incredible. Get a villa if possible. Food is ok, a bit above the islands avarage. Secluded. Private. Returnable.
This place was beautiful. The view was as good as the pictures. The staff did everything they could to make our stay amazing. The menu was a bit over priced and did not have a large selection. Also, this Villa is very out of the way, but if that's what you are looking for, then this place is for you.
Extremely beautiful view! Breath taking!”
It was an eye-opened experience for us. Be prepared to jump from stone to stone to get into your room, it was so much fun! We love the outdoor bath, there are fish swimming around your buda-face-stoned-tub! We arrived late around 8:30 p.m. but the staff still welcome us with smile and warm drinks. The no-borgder swimming pool was so gorgeous and definitely clean since so many birds comimng to drink in the morning! The staff told us it was spring water. The breakfast was plain but after staying in Nusa Dua and Jimbalan, it was a "rest." We tried hard to steal the night since there were soooooo many stars and beautiful nature sounds , but we couldn't help to fall asleep since the bed was too comfortable. All in all, we will retrun again and stay more than one night. My husband and I both agree it was the best stay during our Bali trip! (it was from from Ubud, around 30 min. away, and the water pressure and hair dryer were weak, but we took them ok)
beautiful hotel in the jungle”
My stay was fantastic! Massage was unforgetable! Room I stayed in had a small privet swimming pool, huge bed and a stone bathtub in the garden (you can take a bath and enjoy watching stars!) Really beautiful hotel! But it's in the jungle and it would be wise to bring some insect spray or coil.
unbealiable resort with a beautiful setting”
The resort proved to be more than i expected. It hangs on the side of the hill in Ubud and the entrance leading down to the resort is something to see just itself. The design is fantasic, the pool is beautiful will nothing spared in details. This is a 5 star resort . Everything you could want and more is available with the friendliest staff you could ever ask for. I can say we made new friends while we were there
Tranquil and Picturesque Spot”
Awesome stay with private pool and outdoor shower concept. Great place to get in touch with nature. Customer service was excellent (especially when you're served by a guy named Adi). Food and services were a little overpriced. Didnt help when the quality of food didnt match up to its price.
Lost in heaven. ”
Everything was perfect! Silent, awesome view, delicous food (breakfast&dinner), Super jungle feeling in the hotel area Very friendly and helpful staff! Adi organized a very nice driver for our daytour throu ubud. Loved to stay there an felt like beeing in heaven!
Stayed 2 nights mid August”
Very friendly and helpful staffs. The menu is very limited, so if you're staying for more than 2 nights, you will end up eating the same thing for lunch/dinner. The villa is very quiet and you feel disconnected from the world with limited network coverage in the mountains. The place is also quite far from Ubud central, so I recommend coming back to the Villa early in the evening as the taxi drivers aren't very willing to drive you all the way up, unless you pay the price. For example, we booked a driver from the Villa to Ubud for IDR 200K at noon and came back to the residence at 10PM and paid IDR 350K. We also had massages during our stay and although we both booked different type of massage, I feel we both got the same one? It wasn't the best massage I've had, but it's average. I feel you could get a better one for cheaper. Overall, I would recommend going there if you like nature or if you're after some quiet time away from the world to rest. The green scenery from the forests and the chirps from the birds in the morning are definitely a plus! Very similar to the Hanging Gardens scenery...
Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. We believe our menu provides variety for more than a 2 night stay but we are always looking out to improve meal options. Our internet service has recently been disrupted due to roadworks which are beyond our control. We have provided a hotspot service to overcome this short term problem and this seems to be meeting our guests needs. Taxi fares are also beyond our control but we do provide a free morning shuttle to Ubud as required. We will review the spa massage service in an endeavour to ensure guests get what they pay for.
Photos dont do justice to this place”
Tucked away in a forest 20 kms from the main town on Ubud, this resort is just the perfect place for couples wanting to spend some quality time. From the time we landed here, we were amazed with the serenity and beauty of this place. Our room had an incredible view of the rice fields. The staff were extremely pleasant and hospitable. Adi and his staff are always smiling and will always make you feel comfortable. Adi puts enough efforts to talk to you to understand if there is anything more that can be done. The only 2 minor draw backs according to us were that the WI-FI connection was not very stable and while food menu was limited. Having said that, the food that they serve was fresh-incase one is finicky about food, the resort provides free shuttle to Ubud daily. We had a wonderful experience and would love to be back soon.
Overall a great place (with a few exceptions)”
Awesome views, pool, bathroom. The villas are quite far from Ubud, not all taxi drivers know their location. The hotel only offers one way transportation to Ubud, so you have to negotiate your way back. Not many food options for breakfast (and dinner).
Beautful but disappointing”
May I start by saying that I have been to Bali several times. I choose this Villa because my husband and I had an opportunity for private time; we were looking for romantic days in a Villa and exploring Bali. This Villa, is very remote, at a high elevation, with very beautiful grounds and views, it is very peaceful. The temperature is cooler than much of Bali. The location is advertized as Ubud, but it really is 45 minutes away. Expect long drives and extended days if you choose to stay here. A personal driver is recommend for this location. I cannot say if knowing the distance would have made for a different decision, but it would have been consideration. The following comments are unrelated to the transportation issues; when I visit Bali, I have a driver. Our disappointment with this Villa has to do with facility failures and the inability of the staff to correct. Upon arrival, we did not have hot water, a problem that remained for our entire 4 night stay. We booked a Villa with a private pool and hot tub; we were unable to enjoy either. Remember, lower temperature, pool water is cooler, no hot tub or shower available to round out the Villa’s outdoor package. The staff responded to our water complaints timely, but never successfully fixed the problem. We could never fill up the hot tub and needed to ask for hot water several times a day. Given the water problem, we felt that the staff should have offered another Villa; they did not. The Wi-Fi did not function for our first 3 days; telecommunication company was the problem. When it was fixed, it worked okay for one day, it was quite a bit slower on the next 2 days. Catching the staff at night was hit or miss. Often, when we called, nobody answered the phone. My husband got his exercise walking the beautiful grounds looking for someone the help. He needed to walk because the gym did not always open at the schedule time. It was regrettable to have the issued we experience. I hope it
The location of this villa is a bit out of town but the views are totally worth it. If you are looking for true relaxation look no further. My husband and I still like to be active on our holidays and the location did not hinder that, we did loads of day trips from the villa but still got to come back and appreciate the truly beautiful surroundings. Even the local guides stopped to take photos of the views when they came to collect us. Our room could use a little TLC which is the only thing that stopped this hotel from being perfect but would still go back.
Loved the whole experience, staff were friendly and courteous. The villa was divine the view breathtaking and food delicious. Only critique I have is the bedding was a bit musty. Will definitely revisit.
Awesome stay with lovely view”
My stay at Dara Ayu Villa is one of the most memorable vacation. We are wow-ed away by the scenic view we get from our bedroom as well as from the common living area. We have only booked for one night stay, and we are really lucky to have the whole place to ourselves as there was no one staying there on that Friday night. The villa played soothing music, which gives a balinese atmosphere. I am impressed that they have a rather big room to watch movies (with old movies that you can select from) at. The room was lovely, with a outdoor bathtub. However the hot water seems to be limited. The staff are very hospitable and friendly. The food falls a little short of our expectations (as we had greater food out at the city) but it was acceptable. The only downside is that there could be insects (ants, mosquitoes) around your room at night. We recommend to bring along mosquito coils. Overall, if you love the nature, it is an extremely pleasant and relaxing stay at Dara Ayu Villa. Do explore the little walks out of the common area - walk down to the grassy land to find a swing.
“A place for couples””
A hidden gem resort. Not suitable for the old and the very young....a lot of walking on big stones with water around. The place is high enough to be cooling...and keep most mosquitoes away... Not much villas available and so keep the resort quite exclusive. I took the 2 bedroom villas with pool. Totally enjoyed the cold weather, nice view and comfy bed. You got to get use to the outdoor shower though.. A little bit of insect invasion...but not as issue as we are deep in the nature...we did not even use the bed netting.. Going out to ubud town needs to spend some money as it is 45mins away. Overall, a very good experience away from the normal city life where you could sit back and relax....
Amazing environment and perfect scenery, we walked to paddy field which just right in front of villa after breakfast everyday. Love the villa stone walk and felt so natural. Far away from ubud, no near facilities but very peaceful. Cleanliness need to improve, we saw same cobweb in room and curtain not clean. Staffs are friendly and helpful but available until 10pm only, security couldn’t help us for any request after 10pm… Anyway, I’ll recommend for those natural countryside lover.
