Amazing beach and sunset”
Le mourne provides the best beach in Mauritius. St. Regis has the location advantage. Overall service meets the standard of 5-star-hotel. However, it seems that they don't hire enough staff in all kinds of condition, including during meal (long wait for food, to take away finished plate, ask for coffee refill, placing order, sent wrong dish) and Conceriage (Slow answering the phone when asking for butler or boggy). If comparing with 4-star-hotels, most little delays and mistakes in St. Regis are tolerable since they corrected and mended it right away. Overall, we still have great stay in St. Regis for its fabulous spots and ok service.

Honeymoon Paradise”
My wife and I stayed at the St. Regis for the relaxing part of our honeymoon (proceeded by two weeks of adventure in Reunion!). The St. Regis provided an amazing place to relax, the rooms were amazing, the best we've ever stayed in. We would open the room-wide balcony doors and just enjoy the sound of the wind through the palm tree, sipping a tea on the balcony or couch. Or have a bath with champagne in the early evening. Amazing. The hotel also provides complementary water skiing, tennis, sailing, snorkeling, amongst other activities. The restaurant choice was appropriate for the size of the hotel, five. With enough variance that we didn't get bored. My wife is gluten and dairy intolerant, we informed the manager of one restaurant and from that moment on, at every meal it was known that she required a different menu. Not only was this offered, but she had special crepes made at breakfast, and on quite a few occasions, a complementary desert (and not sorbet!) that she could eat. They really went three steps beyond what we were expecting. The only critical comment I could make (it's minor), is that although it was the low season, the hotel was quite busy, and at times, the stresses poked through. Minor cases of having to wait five to ten minutes for the coffee to appear at the breakfast table, minor, minor issues. Overall, 11 out of 10. Would I go back? Properly not, it was a honeymoon, a very special trip!

Almost Full Marks for hotel!”
Generally very good (stay last year Oct 2014) Pros: - Fantasic Location, nice stretch of quiet beach. We had a beach front room & the sea was 20 steps away. We sat at the terrace to watch the sea activities - Terrific Food Variety We always had a good choice of dinner & chefs were very nice to make our TomYam soup hotter in the Asian Restaurant & the Michellin Star Indian Restaurant makes the BEST lampchops i ever have..still missing it! - Staff The service staff was fantasic, they remembered us & our "specials" Special recognition to Nicolas who always made sure I have my Citrus Honey during breakfast everyday for 2 weeks! David the expert bartender who gave Marko & me the honour of trying his special rosemary cocktail which won the competition Atul from the diving centre for giving my partner the personalised 1on1 trial diving - i CANNOT thank you enuff. He got over his "concerns" abt diving. You can be sure, next time we come to mauritius we WILL DIVE WITH YOU :) Cons (could have been better) - We had a quite a headache with the "water" in the room. We wanted extra bottles of water in the room since the weather was very hot.. Some days the bulter service agreed, some days they refused.. some days they wanna charged us, but they are willing to give us a lot more extra tea & coffee capsules but just not water..weird. Might be good to have a Standard Procedure so as to not confuse the guest. - Might be good to check the condition of your furnitures..the bed in our room had collapsed at 1 corner. To be honest, we didn realised it ourselves until we drop something near the bed, bend down & saw it. But no excuse for a 5 star hotel :) (Room no was 402 / 412 : the beachfront villa beside the other pool) All & all, Miss Fussy Monkey here had a lovely time at the place & we will be back, because it's worth every single cent

Improving In Certain Areas To Make St Regis 5 Star”
Positives are: - Nice, picturesque, spacious resort - although the resort was full it did not feel over crowded - Alvin (pool/beach kiosk) excellent customer service skills and a genuine interested in you having a great stay with St. Regis and on the island. Received some good tour/activity suggestions - The Floating Market (pan asian) restaurant, Chef Van's food is full of flavour - Spacious bedrooms, comfy beds, good decor and good bathrooms - Good fitness facilities - well equipped gym, free use of the mountain bikes that we rode up to La Gaulette - Although the spa is expensive, I had one of the best facials (and my first by Valmont) thanks Wendy - Michaela (Spa Manager) who was the Duty Manager who helped to resolve an incident (burnt dress returned to me by the butler without being notified) - Loved the cinema, which came in handy on rainy days - Free WIFI throughout the resort Negatives that needs improving fast: - The majority of staff lacked a high standard customer service - probably because of the very long shifts (14 hr days). Please train the staff - I'm sure Alvin can help - The standard of food and drink was inconsistent and lacked variety and taste in the main restaurant. I suggest theme nights and local cuisine since we are in Mauritius. Also start buying good quality ingredients.

Mauritius Best”
We had a fantastic time staying at the St Regis. The location is perfect, the butler service exceptional. The rooms are large and the bathrooms amazing. The service on arrival was very good, but was a bit slow for travellers having come a long way. The restaurants are of the highest standard. Exceptional value booking through Agoda.

Beautiful hotel in gorgeous location”
We had a wonderful stay at the St Regis. We're a couple with a toddler. There as lots for us to do as a family and for our 2 year old, without the hotel being over the top family driven. The hotel would suit younger and older guests, couples, families and groups. There is also a wonderful kids club available to use at leisure.

Excellent”
Great hotel, comfy room and bed, clean, spacious, wonderful breakfast with everything you could ever want, amazing facilites for children and activities too, great child friendly pools and gorgeous beach! Everything you need in one place for a perfect relaxing getaway for about 5,7 days. If you're staying longer than that, I recommend renting a car and touring the island as there are a lot of beautiful sites and car rebtals go for about 20 euros a day. Local restaurants in la gaulette about 10 minute drive away are really nice too. I'd recommend this hotel especially for families/kids and honeymooners and retired couples.

Great hotel, terrible food”
Lovely resort with very attentive staff. Kids club was amazing for our 4 year old, she did not want to leave. The butler service is very nice, you can ask for anything, and they deliver to your room. Only negative is the food in the restaurants, which is very expensive, and terrible quality. The Thai restaurant, while a lovely setting, has food worse then street food in Bangkok. I love this hotel and would love to stay again, but hope that they can improve on their restaurants.

Perfect honeymoon choice”
We stayed for one week on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Relaxing athmosphere, excellent rooms, nice pool, good service, absolutely delicious food. The beach is beautiful and snorkeling in the coral garden right in front of the hotel is a real experience.. I highly recommend the hotel!

Food and Restaurants in the hotel ”
Nothing beside the hotel and you have to eat on the hotel. The Indian restaurant food below the average and the staff are not welcoming and I asked for dessert no body bring the menu for me there are really bad, The boathouse restaurant food is excellent however the stuff are not good enough to serve there they forgot to bring the soups and last thing the room service I ordered two burgers, they bring one burger after 40 mins.

Fantastic Holiday”
Like:- We have a great holiday~ There is a long & quiet beach, just the sand is a bit rough! Free usage of wide range of watersport facilities is the added value. The staff in "The Boathouse" are super nice and friendly. Dislike:- Their restaurants are always busy and the guest needs to make the booking in advance for dinner! Not only the VAT, there is also a surchange at MUR350 per order for in-room dining! They have multiple fitness equipment in their gym room but it is strange that no one for abdominal!!

Staff's very bad service can ruin a nice hotel”
We spent 6 nights. CONS: Staff's bad performance (e.g. not a single meal was brought as ordered - every time some course or drink or cutlery was missing or the bill contained deficiencies as to expenses allocation per each room, 2 room service requests were not observed, no wake up call (although specifically requested) in the departure morning, no staff available at the required time to help with luggage, 1.5 hours check in process, lack of staff on the beach fro drinks and towels, one day the room was not cleaned etc). Menu for lunch was very limited and the same for all 6 days. Bad lighting in all restaurants, bad decor in the Indian restaurant. PROS: nice amenities and rooms, nice garden, pool and beach

Account Executive”
Good, except the food and drinks were way too expensive for me personally. To the extent I did not dine in for lunch or dinner , and only had a couple of drinks at the Boathouse bar on the odd night. Suggest offering more budget range, but I know this will never happen!!!
