Beautiful B&B!”

My husband and I stayed at the Carslogie House for our 1 night. The owner was there to greet us, showed us around, and gave great pointers about the Port Elizabeth area. The room was beautiful with a large bathroom and was right off the pool area. At breakfast, the owner provided a delicious breakfast and great coffee. This B&B felt more like a resort than a traditional B&B!

Being a single 30-something female traveler, I take care where I stay because I want something where I feel safe, which is centrally located and provides a good selection of amenities also. Carslogie House was perfect. The room and the grounds were immaculate. Christine was fantastic about arranging both transfers and tours whenever needed and the breakfast menu offered a huge selection of delicious items. I will definitely recommend it to friends in the area as it's a short walk to the beach, shopping and a quick drive to/from the airport as well. Great place to stay!

Found Carslogie House excellent. Spacious, beautifully-appointed room with every comfort - great bed, TV, ironing board, tea-coffee, mini-fridge, wifi. Bathroom also spacious and spotless. Lovely, clean swimming pool outside your door. And breakfasts that will keep you going all day - must be best omelettes in SA! Christine, Kerry, Love and the everyone there all so friendly and welcoming. Five stars.

A perfect stay”

We only stayed at Carslogie for one night but could have stayed longer. All rooms are right next to the swimming pool deck in a beautiful garden.

Carslogie”

This is an excellent guest house in an ideal location, close to the front and 5 mins to the small shopping centre. We spent 3 nights here but wished we could have stayed longer. Christine looked after us extremely well. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good, it was the best fruit salad I had the whole 4 weeks we were touring S.Africa. Being about 3 minutes from the front we did not hear any traffic and it was very peaceful. Hope to come back again and thank you Christine for looking after us so well.

Magical sanctuary ”

From the moment I was greeted by Christine I felt relaxed and welcomed into her sanctuary. The grounds of the house are truly magical. Green and full of wee surprises embedded in the garden which bring a smile. Very homely, clean and peaceful. My bed was so comfortable! The breakfast omelette was yum! The team at the house were extremely helpful and warm with boundless kindness. Thank you !

Convivial atmosphere both with staff and guest interactions. Very professionally run guest house with real attention to detail, especially with regards to furnishings and equipment of the rooms. Very helpful owner/manager, approachable and always ready to help, e.g. with restaurant reservations

Exclusive & wonderful service”

The attention to detail throughout the hotel was fantastic, there was not a single thing that I would have prefered different. The small number of rooms ensure each guest is treated like a king.

Our room was beautifully decorated with a fine touch for detail. Loved the antique furniture and decor...absolutely stunning to see beautiful old lace doilies, and charming Turkish Antique rugs. Our host was charming and extremely helpful. We loved her household pets and the magnificent garden. We were very comfortable and felt right at home. Easy access to anywhere we wanted to go. Thanks Christina and staff.

It was an okay stay. I was disappointed as the establishment apparently has a 5 star rating, which it does not deserve in my opinion. Positives were the location which provides a great base to explore the many tourist attractions and facilities around PE. Room was neat and clean, free Wifi. Overall, nice bathroom. Negatives were that the room was a bit small. The shower door leaked. People making noise outside the room at 23:00. Construction/ repairs being done during breakfast times and in the dining area. Breakfasts were not the best for me as it lacked variety. Chicken and veg options were below average. Frustrating that the cleaners start on your room whilst you are having breakfast so that when you get back to your room, all your belongings are moved around and your towels are taken away, etc - I was still busy in the room! There are far better and cheaper options in the area.

Very relaxing and peaceful. Lovely large clean rooms looking onto pool. Walking distance to many locations from beach to supermarket. Excellent breakfast. Would happily return. Gill from Scotland

Good Staring point for the Garden Route”

Very pleasant, easy to find, easy to park, a 15 min walk along the beach to the Broadwalk. Lovely room well appointed. Breakfast great. was as advertised.

I was welcomed and let in thru the gated security, I was shown the amenities and was well taken care of. excellent staff, I needed a transport to the airport and it was handled by the desk and was prompt and efficient. nice place , very comfortable.

Fantastic venue”

It’s a fantastic clean and well maintained venue that is beautifully decorated. Christine our host was very kind and efficient, as were her staff. The breakfast was delicious too. I highly recommend this venue and will definitely stay there again.

It is a well-maintained lodge”

It was a small family-run lodge that was very well maintained. It is not far from the beach and the shopping areas/casino. Clean and comfortable room.

A beautiful B&B in Port Elizabeth ”

This is a classically styled property with lovely furnishings from a bygone era. Very comfortable and delicious hot breakfast prepared. Very good location in safe area but only 5 mins drive from airport.

Pros..walking diatance from the Broadwalk, beach and several nice restaurants. Very safe area. Lovely bedrooms all opening on to a garden patio with a lovely pool. Cons..nothing that I can think of!

What a wonderfull place, neat, clean, everything you need, attentive staff, fabulous breakfasts (I am going back for the omelettes). I can really recommend this place.
