Good location”
I stayed there a couple of nights at the beginning of my trip. I decided to come back for my last couple of nights in Yangon. The location is great because it's only a few blocks away from 19th street, which is definitely the best place to experience at night in the city. The neighborhood is lively but the hotel is in a street perpendicular to the two main ones so it's not crowded and not really noisy. The staff was helpful and sweet, but as anywhere in this country (from what I experienced anyway). I tried 3 different bedrooms & they were all perfectly clean, whether it was private or dorm; just like the bathrooms. So, if you're looking for a budget place and a good location to walk around downtown Yangon, Agga Guest House is the best bet you can make.

Great Place in Yangon!”
Agga Guest House is a nice place to stay in Yangon. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is close to 19th Street where one can enjoy the nightlife. Yangon hotels are very expensive and this is one of the better options if you don't want to stay in a hostel. The rooms are spacious.

Great little place in the heart of Yangon”
The staff at Agga Guest House are just wonderful! They are cheerful, helpful, willing to help with information and even share their food!!! A light breakfast is included each morning with a coffee. There is a good place to do some work and charge devices. The dorm beds are super comfortable and have a light and charging dock as well. I am happy to recommend this guest house, and would easily stay here again! (On Wednesday and Saturday nights, their sister hotel has a set menu dinner with entertainment. Very cool).

Conveniently Located Backpackers Hostel”
My stay at Agga Guest House was great for the value. I got into Yangon on a night bus from Bagan at about 5:30 in the morning so I couldn't check in, but the staff was friendly and gave me a towel and allowed me to take a shower. They let me check in before 9 too, which was way before normal check-in time. As for the room, I was expecting a dormitory set-up but I had a whole room with AC to myself, which I could lock up when I left and I held on to the key. It wasn't anything fancy, but a bed was all I really needed. I just stayed one night, but the location was great. It's close to all the cool Chinatown stuff, Bogyoke market, and 19th St. is great for dinner! Location and value for your money was great.

This is a GREAT hotel that is affordable”
Agga is really good if your in Yangon for the first time and don't know where or what to do. The staff is really friendly and the hotel is centrally located, in relation to downtown. But sights in Yangon are sort of spread out. So either way you will be catching a cab or two. Anyways, if you're on a budget then I definitely recommend this place!

Nice Room, Nice Location”
This guest house is located in the Chinatown area in Yangon so there are things to see when you walk around the blocks. I walked around to Bogyoke market and Sule Pagoda with no difficulties (I personally love walking though). I booked the private room which was cool because it was spacious, had a working air conditioner (this is REALLY IMPORTANT), and the beds and pillows were as soft as they could get. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, the wifi worked wonder. I spotted a little cafe down the corner that was very cheap and became my favorite place to eat. I also saw a lot of cute little eating places here and there. Overall, I had a good stay. Recommended for any backpackers who wanted to explore Yangon!

Easy on the pocket”
I was very happy with my stay at Agga. Even though I had arrived around 1am, I just called them, and the caretaker let me in (Preferably, tell them in advance if you will arrive after 11:30pm). The staff is incredibly friendly and give you a small helpful map which outlines the 14 most visited places in Yangon. They are also very happy to book a taxi for you (to the airport or any of the sight-seeing places). If any, the drawback was no breakfast. I wish they could charge a little more and offer breakfast to the guests.

My stay was excellent.”
The room price was one of the lowest in town, even one of the lowest in my entire stay in Myanmar. It's located right in the middle of downtown, easy to walk or hop onto a quick bus to anywhere. The rooms were so clean and well kept I was convinced that the Guesthouse couldn't be more than a few months old, until the manager told me otherwise. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, both in making sure you're comfortable staying there, and in giving advice on transport through Myanmar and on planning the rest of your trip. (The manager was running a hotel in Bagan up until sometime last year when he moved to Yangon, so he's especially knowledgeable of that area)

Clean, good location, great price”
For a city where hotels average $100 a night or more, Agga Guest House is an ideal price. The facilities are clean. No hot showers, but you don't really need it given the heat and humidity in Yangoon. The location is really great too, you can walk to almost all the sites in the city. You walk outside and you see and experience street life right away. Feels authentic. Also very quiet at night. Cabs don't seem to know where it is though...have a map with you and take notice of your surroundings before exploring.

Great Value for Money”
I had a really nice stay in Agga Guesthouse. The staffs there were very helpful and friendly! The room was decent for $7-10 with A/C. I would definitely stay at Agga Guesthouse again when I visit Yangon!

clean bathrooms and toilets! large bed!”
superb! I arrived around 7am, and since check in time was 2pm, I relieved by a shower and left my stuff while i charge the streets of Yangon. it's very clean, my dorm room was on the 3rd floor (attic), with 1 window for light, but the room was bright and clean. Owner even installed extra power points for each bed for us when he noticed we were frequently in the lobby charging our phones. that was the most thoughtful gesture I have encountered in a guest house. most importantly, the location is fabulous! a local massage place 1 street away, street food everywhere, a short stroll (10min) to Sule Paya, Aung Sun market and if u enjoy walking, to Shwedagon pagoda (took me about 30 min, i have short legs) too.

convenience in Downtown Yangon”
Agga GuestHouse is located in the Downtown Yangon area. Therefore, its biggest advantage was its location. It was easy to go anywhere in Yangon from this location. It's locate next to Chinatown and within walking distance to many Yangon's attractions eg Sule Paya, Musmeah Yeshua Synagogue, Mahabandoola Garden and Bogyoke Aung San market. It was alos within walking distance to Yangon Central Railway Station, which is the starting point for Yangon Circular Train, and also my starting station for my Bago journey. The guesthouse was also close to shops and cyber cafes. However, you may not need cyber cafes much because wi-fi was provided in the guesthouse. The room are nice and quite big, with complete bacis neccesities. The walls are pretty thin. The toilet and bathroom are outside of the room (shared bathroom). The bathrooms were basic and clean. However, water needed to be pumped every morning into the tanks. And usually by late evening (around 8.00-9.00 pm) there's no water left in the tank. So if you decided to go to the toilet or take a shower at night (in my case, I usualy get backto the hotel around 10.00 pm )the're no water left. Most night I went to bed before cleaning myself, or take a shower. Anyhow, I am ok with the guesthouse. The staffs were excellent and very helpful.

Good place to start travelling in Myanmar”
Staff was really friendly. As I arrived through Yangon, I had quite a lot of questions. The staff was always answering all in friendly tone. He even called several times to ask about hotel booking in Bagan. Breakfast was lovely considering that they are guesthouse. Location is bit far from Sule paya. It's near chinatown. But still there is a lot of 200kyat local bus, there was no difficulty for me getting around all the touristy place. They offer two option for breakfast, noodle and toast. I really loved noodle...feels like I can have 2 bowl. Shared bathroom is bit small, and difficult to hang cloth and towel. However the water pressure is really good. Room is bit humid, but clean. Thinking about the price, I'll definitely recommend this place.

Great value considering usual Myanmar room prices!”
Agga Guesthouse was great value for the price. I stayed in August 2013, and although there was a mix up with my booking - I thought I booked a single room and it turns out I booked a "single bed" - I still thought the dorm facilities were good. Dorms have lockers (BYO padlock), power outlets, and the common washrooms are clean enough. Great chilling area at the lobby, with Wi-Fi and chairs, and plenty of travellers to talk to. In Yangon, I think it would be hard to find better for the price. I believe there is another guesthouse at a similar price near Sule Pagoda, but I hear that it's not at the same level as this one.

My stay in Agga Guesthouse”

Good central budget hotel”
Good location in Chinatown and within walking distance of most attractions downtown, including the Sule Paya (approx 800-1000m), City Hall building, Yangon High Court, Kheam Hock chinese temple. Numerous dining options in the Chinatown area (including Japanese food and also Taiwanese bubble tea!). Staff were also keen to help, and the hotel and shared bathroom was very clean - no complaints there. Only 2 minor negatives - hot water didn't appear to be working well when I was there, resulting in water that was almost cold, and breakfast could have been better. But hey, for the price one pays, this is a great option.

A good budget option for Yangon”
For the price, the dorm was more than adequate : it had no window and, being located next to the entrance, could get a bit loud, but the beds were very large (and very hard though that didn't bother me) and each bed had its own electric socket. The showers had hot water, the breakfast was basic but still a good way to start the day. I'll go there again when I come back to Yangon.

Fantastic little place for backpackers”
The staff at Agga was great and really helpful when asking for directions to some of the local places. The room was clean and had a small waste paper basket so that we could throw our litter. The toilets were clean and had tiled flooring and wasn't dirty whenever I visited it as there was someone who would wash it in the late morning. There was some variations of breakfast offered (I had toast on one day and soup noodles on another). Wi-Fi wasn't really that fast but with a bit of patience it was good enough, and they don't switch it off (unlike at another place where I stayed at). As I was staying at the dormitory room (5 beds to a room), there were lockers with keys so that we can lock our valuables or personal belongings when we went out. The not so good part is that the air conditioning wasn't great, I think it is due to most places in Myanmar installing energy efficiency devices. Also there is only 1 power socket in the room so if you require to charge your phones and camera batteries, you may want to get a cheap power strip with a longer cable.
