My favorite hotel”
The hotel is very special, is a residential hotel, only five rooms, three of which are independent of the national style villas, the other two are the side rooms of the villa. Large areas of the hotel are palm trees, just across the beach from the White Island, standing on the hotel beach can see the White Island. The room is clean, the air-conditioner is cool and equipped with a small fridge. There are two bathrooms in the room, one is smaller indoors and the other is in the back yard, which is open-air because it is relatively large outdoors and there is a laundry table. I like this hotel very much. We only stayed for four days and left in a hurry. I'll come back later. The only suggestion is that hotels have too many cooks and do not have many choices. If you order coffee, you will send a kettle to the room. But generally speaking, I am very satisfied with this place.
Hi, Shali. Thank you for the great review! It was wonderful having you with us, and you're welcome to come back anytime. Have a great day!
Resort great for relaxation”
Agohay is a perfect place to be if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It has a small pool right next to our room which is a huge plus. We stayed in one of the Villa room which was beyond spacious. I like the way that the room was partition to allow some to use the dressing area without bothering your roommates. Food in the in-house restaurant was also good - hefty and delicious! Room was cleaned everyday. Staff were helpful and courteous. Near airport and u can ride the east bound rela to the city center for just 10 pesos. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at Agohay. Will stay there again should I visit Camiguin in the future. Will definitely recommend to friends and relatives!
Thank you, Ms. Annadelle, for your nice review! Our staff enjoyed having you at Agohay as much as you enjoyed staying with us. You're welcome back anytime! Best wishes.
Accommodation exceeded zenith, but still fine ”
After two weeks studying English in Cebu I want to relax a short time before i start to discover more of the Philippines and decided to go to Camiguin. The Hotel exceeded the zenith and the facilities needs some restoration on a lot of points, so the pictures looks more nice than it is in reality. I booked the cottage directly on the beach and all my expectations about the relaxing place was fulfilled. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Hi, Stefan Thank you for your nice review and thank you for staying with us. I can tell by your writing that your English classes are going well! Best wishes
Great Location Nice Feeling Like Home”
This is a nice resort that feels like home. Comfortable and right on beach, the water is good to swim here, the Restaurant is good and decent prices and the staff friendly. The only thing is the attention to plumbing and lighting often lacks. Lights in Room are ugly naked bulbs and 1/2 the lights did not work and the Bathroom had like a 3 watt bulb which is totally inadequate. The sink is tiny and the shower head never is cleaned so 1/2 the holes yield water.. Otherwise, all is great. AC, TV, room, lots of windows, etc. all good. Highly recommend.
Thanks again, Patrick. We're glad you enjoyed your stay!
Ticks the boxes for me”
Nice low key place fronting the beach. Huge bonus for me was that the menu had a good range of simple but tasty vegetarian foods - hooray! I had the ocean cottage which comes with a free wakeup call at 5am from a particularly noisy pump boat - this is handy if you have an early flight, otherwise choose one of the other rooms.
I know it's late responding to your great review, but thanks very much. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about the beach noise. Have a great day! Matt Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort
Great hotel near Cebu Airport”
Well manged hotel-great pool and lounge area. Staff are very helpful and well trained. Comfortable small rooms and only 2km from Cebu Matcan Int. airport. free airport transfer 24/7. great place to stay if you have an early morning flight
My friends and I booked two cottages: Superior Cottage and Island Cottage. Great facilities, helpful staff. Will recommend staying here. Also recommend the trip to the White Island. More details about our trip submitted earlier in the Island Cottage review.
My friends and I arrived at the Benoni port around 12:30 pm. We were fetched at the port, and went straight to the island tour. Since we booked the island tour with Agohay, the transfer fee from the port to the resort was waived. We arrived at Agohay around 8 pm. We woke up early to have breakfast then go to White Island. The White Island was nice and was my favorite part of our Camiguin trip. Agohay's cottages and facilities were great! We appreciated the facilities more when we saw them in the morning. It was our first time to have a room's shower outdoors, but it's all good. The staff was very helpful. Overall, I recommend staying here.
Quaint, Quiet, Simple, Warm! A True Home in Camiguin!”
Camiguin is one of the most tranquil places I've visited and it's but correct to choose a resort of utter peace and quiet. Barely fifteen minutes away from the airport, the I imagined the Agohay Villa Forte Resort to be a rustic, laid-back, and relaxing haven. And I wasn't at all disappointed. Upon entering its approximately two hectare simple but verdant gardens, I immediately knew I'd have an enjoyable hang-loose stay. With only four cottages plus an enticing swimming pool located beside the island's shoreline and a charming restaurant cum reception area just a few steps away, Agohay comes across as a friend's extremely welcoming vacation home! Native roosters and hens and tame dogs strutting about the spacious greenery minding their own business are likewise a refreshing, amusing sight. Do not expect 5 star service but the staff (only a handful) are all most attentive, efficient, and warm. Kudos to the leader of the pack - Rose, and her team composed of Noel, Maya, Dodong, Romeo, Ana Leen, and our tour guide/driver Roland! Most important of all, bravo to Mingming the adorable resident guest relations kitty who charmed us effortlessly! Raring to visit this magical island again and throwing all caution to the wind with Mingming at Agohay Villa Forte!
A very relaxing stay. We are a family of 9 and we occupied 3 cottages. The place is so serene and quite. No blasting videoke and parties. What a wondeful place. The staff, Maya, Rose, Joel, Peter, Romy are all very friendly and they catered to all our needs. It's a home away from home.
As good as it gets. The resort offers a variety of transportation and tour options on a short notice, and will call a massage therapist when you need one. Cheap motorcycles are available for rent if you fancy hitting the road.
Superb property (location, staff, cabin features)”
My stay at the Agohay Villa Forte was really delightful. The property sits on a beautiful section of beach. Its restaurant has excellent, reasonably priced food, is staffed by some of the most attentive, friendly employees that you can imagine. The cabin that I stayed in was spacious, very well-equipped, and had a first-rate bed and private outdoor shower area. I would enthusiastically recommend the Agohay Villa Forte to anyone going to Camiguin.
The best in Camiguin in terms of good pricing.”
Everything were great. The location of the resort is just 5 minutes boat ride to Camiguin's famous White Island (it's literally in front of Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort). Also, this resort is 15 minutes motorbike ride to Ardent Hot Spring and Mt. Hibok-hibok. 15 minutes motorbike ride to Katibawasan Falls. All of these places were amazing, they have cheap entrance fee 25 to 35 Php only. The resort is much better now because they now have a swimming pool (they were still building it back in February 25, 2014). The owners, (especially the foreign owner), are very friendly and always concern about how the guests are doing and if they are comfortable etc. Experienced a short power cut for an hour on the first night. But I heard that it's very common there. I'd say a generator is a must have for the resort :)
We booked Agohay because it was one of the highly reviewed in most sites, and it did not disappoint. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and immediately took us to our rooms, since I have booked in Agoda, she did not asked any questions nor requested any IDs. The rooms here are big, We booked as a group of 4 but with mattresses the room can fit a group of 8 and the bathroom and toilets are separated which is also good. All in all I liked the place even if it far away from the port coming from CDO and will definitely stay there again.
Lovely cottages in luscious garden”
I can totally recommend the Agohay resort, cottages are spacious, aircon is working and the outdoor shower is just a fantastic idea. The whole setting is in lovely greenery and garden and the staff will be always ready to help with anything. The beachfront is not really ideal for swimming, but for a dip you can use the newly build cozy pool. Small downside is lack of functioning internet, limited food choices and for us kinda surreal absence of tennis equipment wheh they freshly built new tennis court on the premises.
The resort is a good place to stay. The bungalow was nice with TV and Aircon. What I missed was a mosquito net. The owners of the place were very friendly and they took me back to the airport personally with their car. Also the employees were very friendly. It is also to be said that the lunch and dinner menus they offer were excellent and for me it is therefore also one of the best restaurants in Camiguin.
great but privacy was invaded”
Hotel has a great location, there is.peace.and quiet and its a beach front poperty. They have a boat that goes.directly to white island which is 5 minutes away. But if you leave the.aircon on they come to.your room and turn it off.nothing was.lost but there is invasion of.privacy.they did.that twice.which is.so.annoying.we didnt.complain because we just want o e left alone
The resort is just near on some tourist spots of Camiguin; My mom and I got surprised that our cottage with ocean view has a huge shower/bathroom area. Value for money is good since I booked early but no breakfast meal included. It has swimming pool but we didn't try to swim. My mom noticed that it has restaurant but no customer on our entire stay then we found out there menu its expensive compared to the 'eat all you can' style from 'checkpoint' (breakfast only; nearby) and 'orange restaurant' (across PNB Mambajao branch). The staff are approachable on our needs.
Good day! Thank you for your review, as well as your staying with us. Not as an excuse, but our restaurant might not be at its best since we're closing the resort for good in a couple of days. Best wishes!
Nice quiet and secluded resort”
The resort is a short 10min walk to the happening strip of bars and restaurants of Camiguin island. Yet is very quiet and secluded. The facilities has a very traditional Filipino feel to it. I enjoyed the outdoor private shower in the back of the cabin. It has direct beachfront access although the sand isn't that fine. If you look straight out, you'll see the White Island sandbar. The breakfast was cooked to order and fills the tummy well. The staff was very nice. I would stay again.
Hi. Thank you very much for your kind review! And thank you for choosing us to stay with. We're glad you enjoyed Camiguin. Best wishes!
A well maintained, beautiful, relaxing resort - highly recommeded”
The gardens and pool area are beautiful and immediately provide a restful, vacation atmosphere. The accommodation is well maintained and very comfortable. With room facilities like a TV, fridge and kettle in the room the guests can relax in the room or decide to pop up to the restaurant which serves delicious food. Mac and her staff are always accommodating and they made our 5 night stay at Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort a pleasant and memorable one.
Hi, Trevor. Thank you for your nice review! Our staff enjoyed your stay with us, and we're glad you enjoyed Agohay. Best wishes.
