Quaint, Quiet, Simple, Warm! A True Home in Camiguin!”
Camiguin is one of the most tranquil places I've visited and it's but correct to choose a resort of utter peace and quiet. Barely fifteen minutes away from the airport, the I imagined the Agohay Villa Forte Resort to be a rustic, laid-back, and relaxing haven. And I wasn't at all disappointed. Upon entering its approximately two hectare simple but verdant gardens, I immediately knew I'd have an enjoyable hang-loose stay. With only four cottages plus an enticing swimming pool located beside the island's shoreline and a charming restaurant cum reception area just a few steps away, Agohay comes across as a friend's extremely welcoming vacation home! Native roosters and hens and tame dogs strutting about the spacious greenery minding their own business are likewise a refreshing, amusing sight. Do not expect 5 star service but the staff (only a handful) are all most attentive, efficient, and warm. Kudos to the leader of the pack - Rose, and her team composed of Noel, Maya, Dodong, Romeo, Ana Leen, and our tour guide/driver Roland! Most important of all, bravo to Mingming the adorable resident guest relations kitty who charmed us effortlessly! Raring to visit this magical island again and throwing all caution to the wind with Mingming at Agohay Villa Forte!
Superb property (location, staff, cabin features)”
My stay at the Agohay Villa Forte was really delightful. The property sits on a beautiful section of beach. Its restaurant has excellent, reasonably priced food, is staffed by some of the most attentive, friendly employees that you can imagine. The cabin that I stayed in was spacious, very well-equipped, and had a first-rate bed and private outdoor shower area. I would enthusiastically recommend the Agohay Villa Forte to anyone going to Camiguin.
best place in camiguin”
we stayed 3 nights in the family cottage that sleeps 6 .the room was large with large decking on 2 sides with tables and chairs outside for chilling out .the grounds are immaculate and the place is very tranquil over 1 hectre , it is on the beach for swimming and they have there own boat to take u to white island about 8 mins directly in front .Matt and Flor who own the resort are very friendly and will go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable . Flor even went to the hospital as soom as she heard my wife had taken a trycycle 1 hour prior with an ear infection got her seen straight away and brought her back . The staff Rose and Grace whom do check in and waitress are excellant . The food is terrific , well priced , and I one of the best places to eat in Camiguin thanks to there cook Mark .They will organise pick up at the pier 450 peso, alternativley you can take a van 50 peso per head but only to mambajo then u would need a trycycle 15 mins to agohay 50 peso. they can organise an 8 hour day tour with rodel 1700 peso . A tip dont eat at st nino cold spring the food is terrible and pricey from the street vendors outside . i stayed with 3 children and 10 3 and 2 it is a safe place for them to play and run around power was off from 8 pm first night the girls were pretty quick to bring out some flashlights but i always carry my own in the philippines as well. i cannot speak highly enough of agohay villa i will be back there again and again. You will feel safe at night with there security guard Chito doing the rounds call Flor direct with any quires 0906297354
The best in Camiguin in terms of good pricing.”
Everything were great. The location of the resort is just 5 minutes boat ride to Camiguin's famous White Island (it's literally in front of Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort). Also, this resort is 15 minutes motorbike ride to Ardent Hot Spring and Mt. Hibok-hibok. 15 minutes motorbike ride to Katibawasan Falls. All of these places were amazing, they have cheap entrance fee 25 to 35 Php only. The resort is much better now because they now have a swimming pool (they were still building it back in February 25, 2014). The owners, (especially the foreign owner), are very friendly and always concern about how the guests are doing and if they are comfortable etc. Experienced a short power cut for an hour on the first night. But I heard that it's very common there. I'd say a generator is a must have for the resort :)
Splendid time with nature and local residents!”
It was the kind of accommodation I was looking for. There were only 3 native villas which offered lots of privacy with a relaxing view of the ocean and the mountains. Our room was spacious and clean and had a huge outdoor garden shower with well functioning water heater. The place is best described as a 'garden resort by the ocean'. The sand may be dark but the waters are very clear. Mornings are awesome at Agohay with a wide variety of breakfast items from the menu. You must try Camiguin's native and pure hot chocolate beverage, perfect while you gaze at the ocean from the restaurant. The resort staff are well-informed and attentive but never over bearing. The owners are warm and welcoming and surprised us by meeting us at the airport with their private car. Across the resort is the famous 'white island' which is just 7 minutes by motor boat. The resort staff can bring you there and can wait for you until whenever you're done with the super white sand bar and crystal clear waters. You may also request for a packed lunch, but we preferred to have lots of fresh sea urchins at the island instead. We had super fun at Camiguin and will definitely stay at Agohay again!
A Very Satisfying Experience”
Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort (AVFBR) is very near White Island. Among AVFBR's menu, my wife & I specially enjoyed the tinolang manok (native chicken). The husband & wife owners, Matt & Flor, together with their competent & very accommodating Staff, Rose & Gigi, made our 3 nights stay at Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort a very pleasant and satisfying experience. Matt & Flor, my wife & I truly enjoyed the conversations & exchange of ideas we have had. Thank you all for making our stay a truly relaxing time of our lives.
Lovely hideaway for couples”
We had a lovely time at Agohay Villa Forte. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Outdoor shower (with a net above it) behind the cottage was an interesting addition - some might find it a bit awkward but we really liked it. The veranda of the cottage was a nice place to read and rest. The room had a large fridge, an unexpected plus. The air conditioning worked well but was a bit noisy. After inquiring via email about mosquito nets (based on reviews here on Agoda) Matt, the owner, got one set up for us before we arrived. The one negative aspect of our stay was the less than amazing food served. It was nice enough, but for the same money you can get nicer food at the several nearby restaurants. Also, there was unexpected tax charged on top of the menu prices on some of our meals. They are currently looking for a chef so the food quality will no doubt improve in the future. All in all, since we loved the secluded area and the nearness to the beach (less than 50 metres) as well as the helpful staff and owners (they cannot do enough for you!), we warmly recommend this hotel. Especially if you are a couple looking for a nice and quiet break. Oh, and they are constructing a swimming pool on the grounds as well as a tennis court.
Nice place”
My friends and I arrived at the Benoni port around 12:30 pm. We were fetched at the port, and went straight to the island tour. Since we booked the island tour with Agohay, the transfer fee from the port to the resort was waived. We arrived at Agohay around 8 pm. We woke up early to have breakfast then go to White Island. The White Island was nice and was my favorite part of our Camiguin trip. Agohay's cottages and facilities were great! We appreciated the facilities more when we saw them in the morning. It was our first time to have a room's shower outdoors, but it's all good. The staff was very helpful. Overall, I recommend staying here.
A well maintained, beautiful, relaxing resort - highly recommeded”
The gardens and pool area are beautiful and immediately provide a restful, vacation atmosphere. The accommodation is well maintained and very comfortable. With room facilities like a TV, fridge and kettle in the room the guests can relax in the room or decide to pop up to the restaurant which serves delicious food. Mac and her staff are always accommodating and they made our 5 night stay at Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort a pleasant and memorable one.
Hi, Trevor. Thank you for your nice review! Our staff enjoyed your stay with us, and we're glad you enjoyed Agohay. Best wishes.
Peace and Quiet”
Stayed in the Ocean Cottage the first night and slept to the sounds of the waves. The second night we stayed in the Superior Cottage. The shower and wash basin are in an open roofed room decorated with many plants. It gives an impression of showering in the jungle, fantastic. What we enjoyed most was the quiet, peaceful environment. There is little traffic on Camiguin, and the cottages are well off the highway, leaving only the sounds of nature. Agohay is directly across from White Island, and they have a boat that will take you out. We enjoyed our stay very much and plan to return soon. Russ Taff
Resort great for relaxation”
Agohay is a perfect place to be if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It has a small pool right next to our room which is a huge plus. We stayed in one of the Villa room which was beyond spacious. I like the way that the room was partition to allow some to use the dressing area without bothering your roommates. Food in the in-house restaurant was also good - hefty and delicious! Room was cleaned everyday. Staff were helpful and courteous. Near airport and u can ride the east bound rela to the city center for just 10 pesos. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at Agohay. Will stay there again should I visit Camiguin in the future. Will definitely recommend to friends and relatives!
Thank you, Ms. Annadelle, for your nice review! Our staff enjoyed having you at Agohay as much as you enjoyed staying with us. You're welcome back anytime! Best wishes.
Cool quaint place”
It took us awhile to decide where to stay in Camiguin. There are places we considered that have been recommended, however they were either too expensive or not available on the date that we were there. However, it was a good thing cause we ended up here. The cheapest of their room is the beach cottage. When I books it via Agoda I didn't realize that the price is for non aircon although you have the option to add extra for aircon. Well, you don't really need the aircon. It's quite cool at night, and I like that we seem to have our own private nook. If I go back to Camiguin, I would stay in this place again. Plus their staff are friendly and accommodating.
Value for money & Decent!”
Agohay Villa Forte is one of the decent hotel in Camiguin. Their staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would love to go back to Agohay.
Great little resort”
My second stay here. A great little resort set on the beach with a lovely pool. The staff are very attentive and friendly, you can hire a motorbike from the resort and explore the island. There are only a few cottages there and you feel like you are the only ones there. It is spread out over a large area with well kept gardens. I highly recommend this resort in Camiguin and look forward to our next stay.

thank you agohay villa forte beach resort, camiguin
I know it's late responding to your great review, but thanks very much. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Have a great day! Matt Agohay Villa Forte Beach Resort
Very friendly staff, next to White Island”
This resort is one of many reasons why I love Camiguin. The staff was very very friendly and attentive. It is not far away from the airport, not too close to the main street and just in front of White Island. If I'll ever return to Camiguin, I'll try to come back to this lovely resort.
Thank you for your great review! It was a pleasure having you stay with us, Mr. Greyson!
Nice spot in Camiguin”
We had a great time in Camiguin and the Agohay Villa. The staff was attentive, the room and pool were nice, and the tours were great. Went to the White beach like everyone I am sure who goes to Camiguin. It's a beautiful spot but really a couple hours there is enough. Took a day tour of the island, which was worth doing.
Nice quiet and secluded resort”
The resort is a short 10min walk to the happening strip of bars and restaurants of Camiguin island. Yet is very quiet and secluded. The facilities has a very traditional Filipino feel to it. I enjoyed the outdoor private shower in the back of the cabin. It has direct beachfront access although the sand isn't that fine. If you look straight out, you'll see the White Island sandbar. The breakfast was cooked to order and fills the tummy well. The staff was very nice. I would stay again.
Hi. Thank you very much for your kind review! And thank you for choosing us to stay with. We're glad you enjoyed Camiguin. Best wishes!
Very relaxing place in the island”
The villa is huge and the beds are big enough to accommodate an entire family. What I like is the view of the White Island as it is only 5 minutes away from the beautiful and serene island of Camiguin. The towels and linens are clean and smells good. The owner, Flor is very accommodating as she fixed for our island tour with enthusiasm. The resort pool is clean too.
Good resort”
The resort is a good place to stay. The bungalow was nice with TV and Aircon. What I missed was a mosquito net. The owners of the place were very friendly and they took me back to the airport personally with their car. Also the employees were very friendly. It is also to be said that the lunch and dinner menus they offer were excellent and for me it is therefore also one of the best restaurants in Camiguin.
