Agonda hotels & places to stay

Very expensive compared to other beach huts but they are quite different. Ultra modern, lovely bathroom with good shower and dressing area. Air conditioning that works perfectly. Good electricity sockets. No need for mosquito nets. Combination safe. Spotlessly clean. We had a beach front hut . Fabulous to wake up in the morning and look straight out at the sea and watch the activity on the beach from the bed! The one way glass is great as you can keep the curtains open but cant be seen from the outside. The vegetarian restaurant is on the river side over the little road. Very nice breakfast served there. Great to watch the colony of Flying Fox bats in the trees through the telescope provided. You could say the restaurant looks rather out of place on Agonda Beach but it is very clean, restful and peaceful and nice to sit by the river for a change. One thing I will say spoilt the harmonious feeling were the two budgies in the tiniest cage. It was horrible to see them confined to such a small space and unable to even spread their wings. Please build them a decent sized aviary! Staff very nice and helpful especially the chap from Kolkatta (so sorry name escapes me) who was very friendly and chatty and a pleasure to talk to. All in all we were very happy with our stay.

The Cuba Goa Hotel is a nice little resort right on the amazing Agonda beach. When we arrived we received a hut near the road, but after some negotiations with the owner, we manage to get a much nicer one within the main alley leading to the beach, where you had a view over the coast and the restaurant. If you are looking for high standards, then the huts of the Cuba Goa aren’t exactly in that category, but neither are any of the accommodations within the small village of Agonda. On the other hand if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful holiday away from the crowds, than it is definitely the place to be and unwind. The huts are quite large, some of them with AC and most of them with a hammock and comfortable chairs upfront. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the food wasn’t up to scratch. Truly Heaven on Earth! Paradise that rejuvenates the Body, mind and soul! I Have traveled a lot and appreciated many places, But Dwarka was THE BEST! more than my expectations! Life cut off from modern lifestyle but nothing went amiss at Dwarka! The Eco system that was a wonder every morning with something new that caught our eyes. The most friendly sea that seemed to play and laugh with the rocks and Us! The owners of Dwarka really care for the guests and the nature alike!

Stayed for 6 nights over new year. what a wonderful place to stay with an outstanding location right on the beach.......waking up to a view over the Indian Ocean and watching the sunset from the terrace or from the adjoining restaurant/bar, which I might add serves great food at any time of the day or night. What made Duck n Chill really special was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff who all go out of their way to make your stay truly wonderful......A big thanks to Sandy, Amir, Rudi, Raul and Bundi, you're making this place great for visitors. We have no hesitation in recommending Duck n Chill to anyone thinking of having a piece of paradise in Agonda, Goa.

The location is the first thing which makes you hear beach waves ,see the beach waves from the room. This is particularly a delight . The staff has made arrangements by keeping a tub of water outside the room so that sand doesn't enter once you enter the room . The concept of open washrooms is absolutely great with plants around , but do watch out for the salty water. Overall a very different experience,bathing alongside with trees and plants. Beds are comfortable and extra pillows and blankets are provided . Coffee and tea within the room is a pleasure , to serve your own in the morning followed by a walk on the beach. Plenty of room for storage, they even provided a hair dryer. Restaurant service is good.

We had the most amazing holiday here. The service , food and accommodation were faultless. We stayed in a beach front villa for 2 weeks and loved every minute. It is at the very end of Agonda beach and so very peaceful. Thank you Ahmedha and Ali on reception for always ensuring we were happy and had everything we needed. Also the 2 smiley housekeepers who kept our room clean and greeted us with happy smiles every morning. Last but not least the waiters and chef at the Royal Mariposa Restaurant who were amazing , worked so hard and produced the most fantastic freshly cooked food ever. We will definitely be returning to this resort next year.

So strategically located right on Agonda beach. Fusion offers you best cottage experience. Staying at the economic huts you will get total staying in nature experience. Staff and Owner were so welcoming and showed proper hospitality which was double thumbs up for me secondly the location on such a peaceful and beautiful beach. Plus they have some or the other event at the restaurant every alternate night which you can enjoy.

The staff at Dersy are fantastic. The location is fantastic. Their restaurant is the best around. We were the first guests of the season, so had teething problems with the AC. and hot water. This was our first visit to Agonda, so I don't know what facilities are offered by the other resorts. But no TV. No kettle. A bed like a rock, detract from the overall experience. Having been in India for a while, I would rate this as amongst the best places I have stayed. The location in the forest and the half an hour walk to Agonda beach were excellent (don't bother with any other beach in the immediate area). The hut and facilities were clean and we felt that we had more opportunity for privacy than anywhere else we had stayed for a while, the staff being more than happy to leave you to yourselves. One word of caution which may apply to some visitors and should be heeded by the staff/owner... There was a pretty exclusive feel almost from the moment of arrival. It was hard to know who worked there and who were the long term inmates but the general vibe was a bit like we had walked into a group who welcomed outsiders grudgingly. Hilarious example being when I asked if there was WIFI I was sternly informed by the girl browsing on her laptop that "no, we have no wifi here." She could barely look me in the eye as she said it. Clearly one has to be initiated into the upper levels of sanctimony to get internet access at Khaama Kethna. They had filtered water though, which was superb! So, good mostly, just a bit exclusive. :)

This place was everything we wished for and its location on Agonda Beach is ideal. Quiet stunning beach but plenty of shopping and great cafes on the road on the other side - and if you want great cocktails and pizza, Kopi Desa! I spent hours searching for the best hotel in South Goa and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. Beautiful but relaxed property, not too fancy, spacious rooms (cabins), amazing views and breakfast from the beachfront restaurant (the paratha omelette wrap and fruit bowl are awesome!) Our cabin was 30 meters from the beach but we could hear the waves at night. The staff are very kind and helpful, especially Subodh, the manager (I think he was the manager.) Also great massages at the Ayurvedic spa on site.

I booked Alfonsos Guest House and paid via App. The took me to Abel Cressida Huts, where they wanted me to pay again. The Room was Dirty and Full of insects. I left the next Morning, But they refused me to refund the Money. She said, i should talk to her Boss, then she vanished and nobody ever showed up. Furthermore I discovered someone went into my room with a second key and searched my luggage. Alfonso and Abel Cressida seem to run a scam Business.

The Cottages we booked were overbooked so the owner transferred us to another of his properties 200 mt from the Wave on Waves, we stayed in "Agonda Waves Cottages". Similar to the one we booked i guess, it was simple small a an basic cottage located just 2 min(150mt) walk from beach. The Staff basically wont disturb you at all, if you require help there is a small reception booth for any info that might help. Good place to plan your vacation on the super calm South Goa Beaches which unlike North Goa aren't Too Loud, Too much Croud and Too Dirty. and the Cons are most of the restaurants don't accept Cards, Even our Cottage and its in-house small Eatery don't accept them. My stay at secret garden far exceeded any expectations I had for my first time in agonda. I had a Hut with a full view to the beach and the best part was the ocean breeze during the hot days...yet it also felt private and cozy. The more I explored the beach and other options, the more confident I was that I had made the best choice! Also each Hut is thoughtfully maintained by the staff. I came late December and I never would have traded my stay here for a boarded up room with a/c (ocean breeze!). The property is half hidden behind palm trees and gardens (pretty unique to the area). I truly enjoyed my stay 100 percent! Additionally, the whole vibe of agonda beach seems to be the best in the area, the people working there were really proud of the quiet/chill vibe and the locals really wish it to stay that way. If you want to have noisy parties, definitely don't choose this beach please!

All rooms have a great sea view front, it feels so good when you wake up to a sea view everymoring, nothing disturbs your stay expect those high tides making sound. Well, interms of activity, either you go for swim, surfing, or go for a barefoot run/walk, from one end to other end its approximately 2.4Km. I ran 10k everymoring during my 4 days stay at Saxony and experienced seashore barefoot run. Volleyball net was missing for enthusiastic, I hope Saxony will provide this facility. Well, Agonda beach is for those who are finding peacetime in the tranquility of sea shore be you single, with family, with spouse or friends. The good thing about this beach is very clean, Its less crowded unlike any other beach such as Anjana, vagator, Miramar, Aguada where water sport attracts huge visitors and makes it too commercial. There are few more resorts located on the beach side one can choose based on their budget. And I must say that food is very tasty and staff here are very friendly.

Ideal place to stay for couples. Location is close to the serene agonda beach approx 2 mins walk. Huts are very clean and eco friendly made of bamboo. They dont serve non veg food but there are plenty of good eating options in the neighbourhood. Ideal place to relax and beach is very close so its a very good staying option. Services are very good. Will surely come back here again.

We loved our stay at Monsoon guesthouse and we would recommend to a friend. It was right on Agonda beach, just a few steps away. The only improvements could be the restaurant, as they have a very large menu and the food wasn't always what we expected. So I would suggest they review their menu. Though the service was very good. The shower was mostly cold water, which was good as it was very hot outside. Just something to be aware of, but the use of water in many places in India is restricted, so this was not specific to this place. The room also came with an electric aircon unit, which was enough to cool the room. There was a fan which didn't work, but we didn't need to use it. We weren't sure about the wiring, but we would suggest it is checked to make sure it is safe to use.

I stayed at Cupid's Heaven for the entire month of December and into January. I arrived very ill and the staff quickly helped me find a doctor. Cupid's Heaven is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly, professional and pleasantly receptive to needs and requests. During Christmas they hosted a party on the rooftop providing all food and drinks to their guests for free. We danced to great music and felt festive together with about 5 Indian Santa's having a fantastic time. I met some great people here and it quickly felt like a Cupid's Heaven family. I totally recommend staying here and it is only a short path to the beach. I could hear the waves from inside my modest room. Thanks guys for the great stay in Agonda!

A last minute plan to visit Agonda.. Found Soul haven jungle on Agoda site.. A quick call to Resort owner and they helped me not just to reach this place but with all site viewing. I still can forget the morning breakfast view and the midnight bonfire musical jammin session happening @ this place. The rooms are indeed very clean and the staff, everyone who runs this place ...never made me feel im travelling here... So much that i even extended my stay here. Stuyed four nights upon arrival in Agonda. Pick up from airport arranged promptly very early in the morning and room was ready immediately. Really nice family who are helpful. Good location, very close to the beach and near to restaurants. We really liked the church sounds and didnt find them to be a problem. Great restaurant too with excellent fish! Little expensive for backpacker but we couldnt resist and have since been back. Would recommend.

We had a very comfortable stay at Abba's Glory Land. Fabian and his family were very kind and welcoming. We recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a laid back, relaxing and small-town feel holiday. The accommodations are a short walk to the beach. Fabian's mother is very kind and even let us borrow a kettle so we could make tea in our room. The huts are clean and there are many restaurants within a short walking distance. Agonda beach is incredibly beautiful. We felt like family staying at Abba's Glory Land. Thank you!

It was my first visit to Goa. I am thankful that i chose Agonda of all places.Coming from New Delhi and working as a doctor in the busiest hospital of India, I wanted a holiday surrounded by few people and Agonda offers exactly that. The Romance Beach huts are situated at one end of the beach not very far from a cliff and a beautiful small rivulet draining into the Arabian Sea(don't miss swimming in the river). The huts are dismantled every Monsoon and when we arrived in mid-November , we were placed in the only rebuilt pink hut. Along the beach, you may find many more furnished huts but none offers the location advantage of Romance beach huts.Our hostess was Ms Sara, a very polite and accommodating Goan. If she had a restaurant, it would be Michelin starred! The biryani she cooked for us surpassed any I had eaten in Delhi in flavor and taste. Thanks, Sara ji. The hut was good for accommodation too. You do get water but at low pressure and with a slightly salty taste.If you walk too fast, the whole structure creaks. 3G services are not available in Agonda yet although few restaurants give you free wifi if you eat there.But the beds are comfortable, huts are clean,the fans work alright, the location is ethereal and the people around you are good-natured. You can't expect any more from a place charging you 1000 a night. I will come again to the beach huts,very soon. Don't miss : 1. swimming in the river nearby 2. eating Sara's biryani 4. kayaking at the nearby Palolem beach 4. sleeping under the moonlight on the sand (its pretty secluded out there at night)

We stayed here in March after a month of backpacking around Rajasthan and were ready to flop onto a beach. Agonda is probably one of the quietest beaches in Goa and is an absolute delight. The hotel staff as per many other reviews are absolutely brilliant, the restaurant is easily the best with the bonus of being a very short walk from the hut. As for the huts themselves they are indeed right on the beach, and we had a sea facing cottage, that was an absolute joy to be in. They had everything you need including a comfy bed and fridge, but they are beach huts, so don't come here expecting 3 star luxury. That being said, we extended our 4 night stay to a 10 night one, luckily we were able to do so as the season was ending, otherwise the bookings here look to have been pretty solid during the season. The place had a relaxed feeling, with quite a nice mixture of age groups and nationalities.

Originally booked Om sai for 2 nights but loved our stay so much we ended up staying for 15. The huts are lovely and great value on the best part of Agonda beach with everything you need close by. Om sai is perfect for all types of travellers including families with children and solo backpackers. The huts are really clean with comfortable beds, a fan, hot water and is a 5 minute drive from the Agonda animal shelter. Gaurav the owner is really helpful and accommodating and his staff are great too, special thanks to Ravi for going above and beyond everyday for us. Look forward to returning to this gem.

Plesant stay but given room was not sea view.Only 5 of the rooms face the sea - 3 above the reastaurant (best position) and 2 ground floor rooms which have view of sea albeit through the usually pretty empty restaurant.The other rooms face each other, not the sea, along the path leading into the place.But staff were eager and Sandeep was nice. If went again would only go if had one of the 3 upper rooms.But it seems these 3 get booked up fast! Breakfast was good and nice to have it facing the sea in the restaurant each morning.

I would recommend the place with reservation. The location is great and the staff at restaurant and hotel very nice. The cabin however had issues. we rented front beach cabin and had to move to the back because it was infested with aunts and cockroaches. Next day they moved us back to a front beach cabin but the shower and AC did not work for the stay. We ask to be reimbursed since paid premium for front beach cabin and where moved to the back cabin for one night but Manager refused at fist and finally agreed to pay for our taxi which cost only IND RUPEES 1,200 which was nothing. So great location, cleaning resort and restaurant staff is great but the management needs some serious improvements.

Not sure if it's Agoda's fault for not checking what they advertise, or Orange Sky for plain lying, however, the description offered and the room we paid for, were polar opposites. No welcome drink, no safes for laptop in room, no minibar, no desk, no ipod dock, no fridge, microwave, no coffee tea maker, no bathrobes or pretty much anything they/you described. Staff seemed more interested in playing pool, the food was absymal, not even the local dog wanted it, the bed was rock solid and the pillows like cement bags. It was a joke and there's a hundred better places to stay in the area. Sorry, but I usually go on whats offered. This time we felt ripped off. Apart from that, the location was nice.
