A quality onsen hotel”
The hotel is located on the top of a hill (as is suggested by the name) in a quiet neighborhood, away from the bustle of Hakata St. or Tenjin. Booked a traditional room, the kind you would normally find in a ryokan. It was nice to have an onsen/public bath facility which was very clean, although the room had a separate bath and shower room. Loved the traditional touches in the room, some of the furnishings appeared a bit dated, although super clean. Would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Fukuoka. The only negative would be the lack of access to a public transport, but then, a taxi ride did not cost much from either Hakata or Tenjin.

Japanese style room is recommended. The room is very big and Japanese bed is comfortable, the place is very quiet and relax. It just bit far away from city. It need to take around 20mins from Tenjin by bus.

A stunning hilltop oasis from the city!”
Possibly the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Japan. I’m a long time resident. If you are looking for a break from the hubbub of the city, want to get away from it al-, This is a propo you won’t want to leave after checking out. Also nearby the zoo and a great botanical garden. Great place for a family with kids. Although it was pleasant, classy, and QUIET nothing like the noisy atmosphere of a Disneyland resort hotel.

The "Beatles Hotel" - Sometimes Great, Sometimes Not”
I've stayed at this property a few times over the years and always think of it as the "Beatles hotel" as they play The Beatles 24x7 in the lobby. Love it. Essentially this is a wedding venue and not a tourist hotel, but if you can get one of their rooms with an expansive view of Fukuoka for a reasonable mid-week rate, it's a good deal. The issue with my last stay is that I booked through Agoda at a higher rate than I paid previously as it was a Friday night, but reached out the hotel to confirm that I would get a room with a view. My travelling companion was looking forward to a nice, resort style hotel with a view. Unfortunately I did not get a response but given most rooms had a view and I paid a higher rate, I didn't think there would be a problem. Anyway, we got a room with a view of an internal wall. Very disappointing. I would have chosen another hotel -- as I had free cancellation -- if the hotel confirmed that was the case. The hotel is not so easy to access and sitting in an 18 sqm room looking at a brick wall was not a nice experience.

Thy have nice night view and offer 30mins shuttle bus from NAKATA JR station. However, the staff had tried their best to communicate with us in English. But when we are having the Italian meal at dinner time, they give up introductions after introducing 2 dishes. That’s a little bit pity. Other than that, the stay was good.

Really enjoyed our stay at Agora! The views from the hillside are great. About a 20 min walk down the hill to a cool hipster part of Fukuoka with plenty of great restaurants and stores. Highly recommend getting a Japanese suite. It was very spacious - a little outdated, but very clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Will definitely stay here again!

Kudos to their staff Aleksander who went the extra mile to provide great service to me and my friend. She was so friendly and helpful. Answered all our questions with ease because of her eloquence in English language. She assisted to make dining reservations for us and even recommended good places to dine at. Really a gem to the hotel to have such a great staff! Agora Hilltop is a very nice resort to stay at, quiet and calm place to relax. The shuttle service to the city is a plus point!

A brief stop at Fukuoka”
An excellent Fukuoka city view. Very nice staff provided the best service. Relax & deluxe environment inside hotel including a hot spa. The location was a little bit inconvenience and there were only 2 shuttle buses on weekday. Overall is very good.

Nice and clean”
This hotel is on the hill. Please take a cap if you have lots of baggage. The staff were nice and sweet but their English was not that good. Travelers should study basic Japanese. I love this hotel's spa and massage program. After using their spa, my skin got smooth and soft. The hotel is near by fukuoka city zoo, so I walked to the zoo. The road between hotel and zoo was wonderful.

Relax and tranquil environment”
There weren't many guests in the hotel, you can enjoy the facilities like the spa exclusively. The breakfast diner view was spectacular. Overall, it was a good getaway from the busy central Fukuoka.

The only hotel on a HILL”
I enjoyed my stay, nothing to complain : ) the staff are polite, nice and good at English! I love the tranquility and the natural atmosphere. If you visit there, you must try the bathhouse at 3/F. It is so convenient for tired travelers as it opens from 630am to 12 midnight. If I visit Fukuoka again, THIS hotel is definitely my cup of tea, whether I'm traveling solo or with family : )

Warm & lovely hotel with Onsen”
Room quiet, clean and big. Hotel on the little hill with fresh air and with good view on Fukuoka sight. Onsen a bit small and unfortunately with no outside pool, too suffocated air inside the public pool. Staff is polite and good service. Like the atmosphere!

Will cost you about 2,000 YEN for the taxi from the hotel to Hakata Station (central Fukuoka). There was only 1 shuttle bus into the city centre around 11:30 am and return around 4:30 pm. The bus service from the closest subway station is infrequent. What takes less than 5 minutes by taxi from the closest station to the hotel will take over 30 minutes unless you catch the bus at the right time. For a hotel that is NOT centrally located, it should have a 4-5 more shuttle bus departure times. Otherrwise a great stay!

Though this hotel is located at hilltop, it is very silent, suitable for those who like to stay in Hakata but do not want to spend your nights at the crowded district and gives you excellent service.

GOOD STAY!”
At first, I was afraid of choosing it because it didn't have much reviews. I decided to go ahead as it's newly renovated. I arranged this trip for my mom and dad who are celebrating dad's b-day and mom's retirement. After arriving at Hakata Port, they took a cab to hotel and my dad left his guide book in the cab accidentally. He explained to a hotel staff and asked to find it for him with not much hope but he received it a few hours later! My parents really appreciated their friendly service. Also, my mom complemented on the down pillows and been looking to buy them for herself! They both enjoyed shared bathroom with hot spring every night! They were able to travel to Yu Hu In by bus very conveniently and enjoyed outdoor springs at a ryokan there. Although it's not located in centre, I would definitely recommend here!
