Charming and historical hotel experience”
My partner and I stayed here for nearly a week and we had an excellent experience. We're the type of travelers who just need a place to stay to sleep at night so it's really an advantage that this hotel is centrally located in the financial district which makes it very near to shopping, pharmacy, restaurants and the Civic Center BART station. The hotel serves unlimited brewed coffee and donuts. What we loved about our stay is the historical experience - going back in time while walking at the hallway, riding the "jumpy" and classic elevator, and sleeping in our room which was very quiet on the 4th floor. The bathrooms and showered are all shared but we had no horrible experience with using it or getting in line just to use it. It is true that a lot of homeless people are concentrated a few establishments away from the hotel. They are generally harmless and you should just leave them alone. They are humans too, like us. We will pick Aida Hotel again should we be back in SFO!

Exceptional”
Aida Hotel in San Francisco, California is good for people who wants to explore the city. It’s located along market street and is very near to any attractions in the city. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Excellent location - Value for money”
I had second thoughts about this hotel when I booked due to various negative comments. However My wife an I stayed in a double room with private bathroom for 10 nights. My primary purpose was attending a conference at Moscone Centre, and also sight seeing in and around SFO. Following are our experience No bed bugs, bed was fully comfortable. Bed is not Queen size, but enough for a couple Bed linen and towels were clean and changed daily. Hotel staff was friendly and courteous. They allowed a early check-in (since the room was available). There were homeless people in the roads around, but this was a issue in entire city, not specific to this hotel. Also they were harmless. I even walked in the streets alone very late at night. Transport was very convenient, BART is just next to hotel. Busses and trams available just in front of hotel. Moscone centre was walking distance. However Uber parks on the road behind the hotel. Airport shuttle from the hotel was very convenient and was cheap.

Wonderful! A dream come true.”
Nestled in the northeast sector of the city, the Aida Plaza could not be a better deal to find affordable and kind service. They screen guests to keep you safe, and hold on to your keys, to prevent loss! The beds are comfortable, the rooms spacious enough to allow for rest and relaxation, with lots of room for clothing and what not. The facilities are separate from the room, but it wasn’t an issue. Bring a robe and shower shoes! The area around offered good shopping, and was not far from bus stations and right on top of a BART line, so you can get around easily. Staff was friendly, non judgmental, and helpful. It has the vibe of a young deniro movie.

3 days in San Francisco.”
Excellent location. A lot of homeless people in this area but they are not bad. I felt safe in the hotel and around it. The staff is amazing. They are very friendly and helpful. Every morning we had donut for breakfast. Room was clean. I felt like my grandmother home. Good atmosphere. The WiFi isn’t very fast but it’s free. If I come back in San Francisco, I would like to stay in the same place.

Good for sleeping only with Great shower & toilet. Helpful and kind staffs.”
We only stayed 1 night with very late night check in. The hotel lobby and lift is quaint and quite good. The room was just enough to sleep and u don't want to stay too long in it. Its not dirty but just a bit old and I am sensitive to he smell. The shared shower room is GREAT AND CLEAN. I've used them twice and they're always dry and empty even though only 2 shower room and 2 toilet per floor. Overall, I think the 62usd per night was really worth it. They give 1 donut per person in the morning 7 to 9am which is great. The hot water next to the lobby is useful because I was sick and had to make some herbal drink for my throat. There's coffee too but I didn't try. The hotel was actually quite quiet although once or twice I heard a car honk sound but it didn't bother me. The bed was comfortable with soap and shampoo, no toothbrush and no toothpaste. The cupboard had some very basic and used hangers but they're good enough for me. LG TV channels not smart TV of course.

Quaint authenticity over modern sterility ”
Loved the character of this place. The wall-to-wall-to-ceiling-to-floor carpeting in the little elevator; actual key-keys; nice big windows; small group of friendly staff; great wall art; great colorful pointy chairs in the hallways; little trees in the stairwell. Great vibes. For people who prefer ma and pop corner store to Whole Foods. Thrift/vintage > plastic/generic. Excellent location. Shout out to Mehdi holding it down in the lobby.

Location near transportation ”
If homeless does not bother you. The place is near the Union Square and transportation around the city and airport. Daytime should be no problems except late evening. Where the homeless roam around the area

Worth trying for the style but not a safe neighborhood”
Intensive and authentic vintage style, every detail's containing the aesthetic taste of the owner. Was told the property has a history of over a hundred years. Staff extremely kind and helpful, showing us alternatives when we felt like to changing to a private-bath-room. Free coffee and water 24/7. Free donuts in the morning. Rooms are aged but well-cleaned. Haven't seen an old fashioned cube TV in ages! And it is still functional! Shared restrooms and bathrooms are clean but rather small and have no windows for air circulation. However it matches the price - among the cheapest logging spots in SF. The only thing bothered me was the location. The neighborhood is marked as "no-go-zone" by local people (I didn't know it before going). There are drug addicts and beggars like every ten steps. Avoid going out late! Will recommend to bold and adventurous friends but not conservative ones or girls.

Perfect exploring position”
Out of 3 hotels we stayed in, this was perfect. Not pretentious, but all the staff were lovely and the location was ideal for theatre, city centre etc. And had the most comfortable beds of the week! Although classed as a slightly scary area ( and we were worried before our stay), I would stay here every time now. There is a homelessness problem, just as there is in every city, but the route back to the hotel was safe as it was on wide, busy Market Street. Plus there's a subway stop 1 min away. Perfect!

Satisfactory”
The place is ordinary but its location is perfect because it is near the subway and bus, hence, ease of transportation. The receptionists I encountered were very nice and accommodating! I even asked a favor to send my post cards thru mail before I left. If you are going to rent the rooms with shared bathroom, expect that the toilet will not always be clean. Overall, the place is good if you will not stay there most of the time.

Good location & value for money & friendly staff”
The location is great and the staff at check-in is friendly and the process is very smooth. The hotel although basic, has met our needs. Most notable is that the bed is clean and comfortable. The hotel provides basic things like soap and clean towels. If you need other amenities, it is best you bring them with you as you travel.
