A great little AIRPORT HOTEL”
If you're looking for a great little airport hotel in Chitose/Sapporo Int'l. Airport (CTS) this is the one! I've stayed at many airport "terminal" hotels and this is one of the best. Located at the DOMESTIC TERMINAL (JAL - Japan Airlines side) this small terminal hotel packs a big punch. Great service as can be expected from Japanese staff. You can leave any large/heavy bags down in the lobby (recommended as rooms are also typically small but clean and not much space to move around). The rooms are literally right on top of the boarding gates. Look out your sound-proof double-glazed windows and you'll see airplanes docking right below you. A nice little touch is you can bring your luggage trolley right to your room front door and leave it there so you have your own trolley the next morning to bring your bags back down if you have any. Breakfast is "okay" - but if you have time, better to just go into the Domestic Terminal 3rd floor and has great dining options. Beware they don't stay open 24-hrs. There is a free airport ONSEN (Japanese spa/bath) if you are a hotel guest. Get a ticket from the front desk. Onsen is in the airport terminal so don't walk in your bathrobe. But an amazing classic onsen for an airport! Great stay.
Hotel inside the Chitose Airport Terminal”
I had an early flight out of Chitose-Sapporo AP to Narita so I stayed overnight at Air Terminal. So I got off at the Shin Chitose Airport train station, and just walked through the airport terminal to the hotel lobby. The hotel room was not fancy but very clean & comfortable, roomy bathtub, free DSL internet, view of runway. I didn't find that it was noisy. Had a nice breakfast buffet, and walked over to check-in counter & gate. It was also short walk to the airport mall open from around 7am - 9pm so easy to grab quick dinner & shop for local souvenirs. Couldn't ask for more.
Perfect location for late arrival or early flight and the onsen is excellent!”
After three flights it was with great relief that we got into our room at Chitose Air Terminal Hotel. Plenty of room for 3 (teen was on the sofa bed) and the bathroom was well appointed. It's all a bit 1980's bit well looked after. The highlight is access to the onsen. It costs about $15NZ per visit and it's a short walk away inside the terminal so you go in your clothes. It's a lovely onsen, with separate women's and men's pools inside and out. You get your own locker and be sure to wash correctly before you go in the pools. Breakfast at the hotel is buffet style with lots of options. There was an ice machine outside our room and vending machines which was useful.
After a 10 hour flight from Sydney to Narita and a 90 minute flight from Narita to Chitose - I was all 'travelled out'. What a luxurious convenience not to have to travel any further but instead, walk to the hotel and relax. The rooms are large and clean, the staff are efficient, friendly and courteous. What a bonus to have such a generous variety of food for the buffet breakfast. I was well fed and well rested and ready too continue my journey to Niseko the next day. I will most certainly be back! Thank you Air Terminal Hotel.
Hotel Airport is great for last minute shopping and early flight departure”
We decided to stay at Air Terminal Hotel on the last night of our trip as we need to catch an early flight the next day. It was a triple room enough for three of us. Location was great as we can do our last minute shopping at the airport knowing that our hotel room is just a short walk back. We also managed to catch the free shuttle bus to the nearest Rera Chitose outlet. Everything seems so convenient. A simple breakfast was also provided.
A Little Bit of Heaven on Earth”
We chose to stay at Air Terminal Hotel the night we arrived in Chitose and also the last two nights of our vacation. We absolutely loved our stay. We were impressed with the size and cleanliness of the room, the support of the staff, the great breakfast provided and the heavenly onsen. What a wonderful way to relax while on vacation. We also liked the fact that the JR train was so close by, which made our last two days of shopping very convenient.
Stayed in airport to catch early morning flight”
Stayed here in order to catch the early morning flight. It's located at the domestic terminal, it's totally fine. Shin Chitose airport isn't very big anyway, still near to the shopping street. And don't forget there are Doraemon Waku Waku Skypark and Hello Kitty Happy Flight in Chitose Airport too. It's a little bit pricey, but it's located right in the airport so it make sense. Onsen is not located inside the hotel nor domestic terminal. Overall, it's a great experience staying overnight there, with the window with view of seeing planes taking off.
Strategic location with Comfort stay”
Hotel guests get the privilege to enjoy the complimentary entry to the New Chitose Airport Onsen (Japanese hot spring and bathing facilities). I love their bedding and extra comfort bed! Although the triple room is not spacious enough, we did enjoyed our stay because it is located right at the airport building, save hassle from travelling as we will depart the next day with the early morning flight. Buffet breakfast is simple and good. Friendly staff. I am delighted when the hotel staff offers to keep my luggage until the day I check in to the airport (which was 5days later from the day I arrive the airport). On the 5th day, they have sent my luggage to my room as well even before I check in. Very good service from the hotel. I am pleased. I will stay at this hotel again if I travel to Sapporo in the future.
Great - conveniently connected to Chitose airport”
We had an excellent stay at the Air Terminal Hotel in Chitose. The friendly staff minded our bicycle boxes for 6 weeks while we toured around Hokkaido at no additional charge. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with a good view of the airport tarmac for the kids. Noise was not a problem either. Highly recommended.
Perfect for late or early flights ”
We booked the hotel as our flight was at 7.45am. It was conveniently located in the domestic terminal. There’s a wide variety of shops for last minute shopping and many restaurants. There’s also complimentary onsen nearby. Do note that shops close at around 8pm. The entrance to the hotel is a little inconspicuous. The air terminal hotel lift lobby is after departure Gate E on the second floor or after arrival gate 5 on the first floor. Take the elevator up to the third floor to the hotel front desk. The hotel is old but room is functional and clean. Would recommend this hotel if you are arriving on a late night flight or leaving on an early morning flight.
Hotel is good for travelers with early or late flights to new Chitose Airport and free onsen access as well. Room is huge with full bathroom facilities. Service as usual was fantastic with all of the receptionists knowing how to speak and understand English language. Onsen is surprisingly good, its big and modern. It's not part of the hotel but airport instead. Closes at 10:45pm though, as the airport is closed at around 11pm. Overall a fantastic place to stay at but note that it's a little pricer than other hotels in Sapporo. But definitely a good option for early/late flights.
Stayed here during last night in Sapporo. I got a good deal the price for only myr460. The room is quite okay if compared to other hotel. Facilities also in good condition. Location just right inside domestic terminal. View also awesome can see flight landed and depart from the window. Get plus onsen free which is so nice. Plus itvwas my first express to try japanese onsen. Overall is awesome
Definite yes to recommend to stay”
It’s right smack at domestic terminal of new Chitose airport. No hassle of transferring to nearby airport hotel. What surprise me was their service. I had liaised a few times with the hotel staff regarding my reservation. Initially was to request for Hollywood twin so that me and my hub could sleep comfortably after 10+ of flight. But the room was booked so I got a deluxe double for a bigger bed. Upon arriving the counter staff had noted my earlier request for Hollywood twin and asked if I still Prefer it. This is what I would call going the extra mile as they could just stick with my reservation of deluxe double and they could earn an extra 3000yen but they did not. Recommend those with night flight or early flight to stay here. Kudos to the staffs once again.
Airport Hotel - good location, comfortable”
We had a 9am international flight at Shin Chitose airport. We checked into this hotel the evening before. It is located on 3F at the domestic terminal, but you have to use the elevator on 2F to get to the hotel. A very decent place. Clean and comfortable. Decent buffet breakfast with choices of Western or Japanese. Most of the shops close at 8.30pm and restaurants at 9pm. So after shopping and dinner, guests at the hotel get to use the spa on 4F where you can go for a dip in the onsen, lounge in the relaxation room etc. Would stay here again if I have a morning flight.
No-frills, very convenient hotel”
I have stayed at the Air Terminal Hotel previously so it was nice to be back in a familiar hotel. I had a very early morning flight to catch, and it was very convenient to be close to the check-in counter. Imagine waking up at 6am, rolling out of bed, go down 2 floors, walk 300m and check-in for your flight! Rooms are small but spacious enough for a couple of suitcases. It is very basic but it just works. You probably won't be spending a lot of time in your room anyway. Chitose Airport has endless forms of entertainment to keep you occupied. Your stay in the hotel will allow you to use the airport onsen, which is surprisingly clean and efficient. The onsen is like a spa area where you can chill out in your yukata, drink tea, have a massage, go for a dip in the onsen, etc. Then go to ramen-dojo (ramen street, modelled after the famous street in Sapporo with rows and rows of ramen shops), have a bowl of the famous ebi-ramen (prawn ramen), and head to the arcade game shop at the 3rd level and play some silly games with your friends. Great fun. Breakfast at the hotel is decent which caters to both Westerners and Japanese. Check-out is easy. For this cheap price, you are getting a very good-value hotel stay.
Overall, good experience, basic no frills hotel.”
Overnight in transit, have stayed many times in the past, friendly and professional staff, small but very clean room, price is reasonable, conveniently located in the terminal building, good buffet breakfast included in room rate. Only negative comment-no English speaking channels on the television. With regard to the following questions about Sapporo, the airport is located approximately one hour by taxi (30-45 mins by train)from the city of Sapporo. I have visited Sapporo in the past, my answers reflect my experience(s) from previous visits to the area.
Good for catching early flight”
We didn't want to risk missing our flight (8.50am flight) so we stayed at the Air Terminal Hotel. Do note that the Onsen is not within the hotel but on Level 3 of the Airport Terminal. So you would have to walk through the domestic terminal to get there. There are lots of activities for children at New Chitose airport (airport facilities.. not hotel facilities). So do check-in early if you have young children. They'll have lots to see and do. The room was very basic. Reception was fuss free but the property looks aged. Some websites lists Air Terminal Hotel as a 4-star property. It's more like a 3-star or budget hotel. But then again, most airport hotels are very transactional and basic. The hotel breakfast was simple and fuss free. No eggs station or anything like that. Felt more like a staff canteen. Would I stay here again? Yes because it met my objectives of staying a night to catch my early morning flight.
Convenient for early flight”
The hotel room is not as narrow as others that I stayed in Japan. Clean and tidy room. Simple breakfast in western and Japanese style. Hotel staffs were polite and also helpful. The only disadvantage is shops in the Chitose airport closed around 9pm and guests are unable to access to the terminal building after 11pm. If you wish to do some shopping on souvenir in the airport, please be earlier.
good location ”
inside new chitose airport, free breakfast ,suitable the early flight traveler new chitose airport is a healthy life airport ,there do not provide nitelife ,shops n restorent wil b close after 7pm.plx spend ur time in sapporo before check in into this airport hotel
Convenient airport hotel”
It was great to be able to walk a short distance within the New Chitose airport to this hotel after a long flight. After one night's rest, the next morning we were able to exchange our JR order for the JR Pass and reserve all our seats before taking the 45 min(?) train ride into Sapporo. The nice breakfast was a pleasant surprise - good choice.
