Hotel location very good for Manchester Airport and there is a paid bus service which takes about 10 minutes to get to the terminals. Room small and comfortable with everything you need if you are just staying one or two nights.
Good value for money. Nice comfortable room, although ours didn't have lift access. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty evening meal ordered from menu, we had sirloin steak and salad with salmon fillet. Like the fact that breakfast was self service and served til 9.30, breakfast wasn't as good as evening meal but okay. Good shuttle service to airport, took 10-20 min depending on terminal, includes return trip.
3 star hotel. 1 star for nail varnish/red wine/blood stains? Covering carpet. 1 star for bathroon which stank of tobacco smoke. 1 star for overpriced pizza in bar which not very clean.
In need of fresh coat of paint , all looks a bit tired. Need to check with hotel where to get their minibus when you arrive at airport. Information desk at airport just said that the airport shuttle doesn't 'do' that hotel, so cost me £18 for taxi. Returning to airport I used the hotel minibus which cost £5. Hotel staff very helpful.
Room had not been cleaned. Sink was dirty, bins not emptied, emptied, empty coke bottle under bed, bits all over carpet. Dust in corner under TV when had not been cleaned for many days. But bed was clean so as we were only there overnight it was not worth making a fuss about.
I booked an inexpensive room and therefore arrived with a low level of expectation. I was very impressed with both the location and the quality of the product. Great value for money, I'll be back next time Manchester airport figures in my travel plans.
A very tired hotel ”
This hotel is very tired and a bit grotty, really needs a complete overhaul.
Terrible customer service, lack of interest and our welcoming was grim and unhelpful. ”
The room was very outdated and grim. the night time was incredibly noisy with people slamming doors and running past, the walls must be paper thin. The piping system kept us up all night it was so loud with water running, pipes creeking etc. The staff were not very approachable, didn’t seem interested and hardly smiled at us.
Very old uncomfortable mattress. Every room sounded like the mattresses/beds very old and squeaky. ”
Fish from fish and chip menu horrible wet. Chips were nice
Shower curtain and shower pole was on bathroom floor, no toilet paper in room. Asked at reception for someone to take up but just handed over extra towels and paper while we sat in bar having dinner. Have to pay £5 for gym access which is annoying as hidden cost - equipment, although useable, is poor. Wifi is free for only 20 minutes before continually having to relog in Everywhere needs touching up Very tired, lack of investment, not worth it.
Me and my partner stayed here before our flight at manchester airport, we arrived around midnight as a last minute decision. The location was good, we ordered a uber for the morning of the flight and it costs us around £10 to the airport. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfy. Only downfall was we had booked a double bed and received two singles, however it was early hours in the morning and we wasn't too bothered about this, we just wanted to get our heads down before the flight. The man on reception was very good and quick with his jobs. Would recommend.
Expect cheap run down motel”
I will say that for 50 pounds I was happy for clean sheets near the airport, but the property is super old and really dingy. Motel looks NOTHING like the quality in pictures. Also No free airport shuttles. 5 pounds to get to airport and 6 to return. Breakfast is not free.
Good food but terrible decor”
Plaster all over the walls and cobwebs everywhere, absolutely vile to look at. The food and service in the restaurant was well above expected so that was a pleasant surprise.
Great place to stay. Would recommend to a friend.
Great location, shame about the miserable decor and unhelpful staff! ”
Price was way too expensive for what this place was. Had to pay extra for parking, airport shuttles and use of the pool on top of the cost of the room! The hotel is in desperate need of renovation and a very good clean. The staff seemed very unhappy and weren’t exactly welcoming or helpful either. I’d only use this hotel again if it is the only one available and it’s significantly cheaper.
Nothing was quite what the website implied- there is an airport shuttle - but it's not free - 10 pounds each direction. There is no lift in the hotel -folks with disabilities need not come. They are not staffed well, although the staff is friendly. We ate in the bar - don't bother! The food was mediocre at best. Chef's soup with warm bread equated to a bowl of canned soup with a slice of toast. We requested a taxi with a card reader because we were leaving the UK - nope! We were half way to the airport when I mentioned it to the driver who said he wasn't told and asked us to use a cash machine at the airport to get money for him. The whole stay was anything but relaxing. Stay a bit closer to the airport and spend about the same anyway!
Comfortable and close to the airport”
Great place to stay if in transit and need to stay close to the airport, staff were very friendly and rooms comfortable. Nice that it has a pub inside to relax. However as I was in transit I wanted to buy some amenities that they offered to sell like toothpaste etc. First of all I believe this should be free in the room and second all were out of stock so I was unable to use these things.
First hotel I've ever stayed in that charges guests to use the pool...”
I've stayed in lots of hotels and not once have I arrived to be told that if I want a swim or sauna I'd have to pay extra 'because the facilities are run as a separate concern' according to the excellent receptionist. Nowhere in the adverts or during booking or in my paperwork did it say this. Perhaps they knew that if it had I would have gone elsewhere maybe.... Hotel is a bit dated but the staff are obviously dedicated as it was clean and everyone was extremely polite. A given you might think, but when it's done right it makes all the difference. Another thing, why do some hotels think it's ok in this day and age to give you unlimited wifi in the lobby but only 20 mins before payment in your room? I'm happy to work in the lobby if they insist but, perhaps they want it to look busy? Answers on a postcard please. There isn't a transfer service so a £10 taxi each way, could have hired a car for £12, enough said. The Fillet steak I had, however, was superb! Whoever the chef was, awesome
Twin Room. Got into Manchester Airport quite late so the overnight stay at this hotel was extremely convenient as it was close to the airport. Rooms were warm and clean and quite spacious. Worn and old though but no complaints. Good value for money.
Ok for a night maybe, but not great...”
This place is cheap but not a bargain. I stayed for a night to get a good night’s sleep before an early flight. Would not recommend it for that. Walls are so thin I kept waking up - lots of noise in the corridor (travellers coming and going at every hour I suppose) and I could hear every noise from next door. The room was too hot and I could not set the temperature (nothing would change). Found several body hair in the bed and bathroom. The staff were nice and called taxis for me as no Uber were around - this costs £10 each way to the airport. In the morning I travelled with two other passengers and we ended up paying £7.5 each -interesting maths...
