A traditional Japan Hotel”
The Akaishi Ryokan is a very traditional Hotel with its own Onsen, were you can bath for free. We really enjoyed our Trip there because of the great feeling, A great view of one of the five Fuji lakes and the kind staff. If we come back to Fuji we would always come again. Thank you for the nice stay.

Excellent view and onsen at affordable price”
It was rather hard to find for first timer. As you get down at station number 5 via the kawaguchiko sight seeing bus. You walk towards the lake and turn right and walk till the end where there's a upward slope leading up to the inn. Once reach the inn, press the doorbell inside. The lady is nice but only speak japanese. Show her the agoda voucher and everything will be fine. I got my room just facing the beautiful lake which was excellent. The onsen was of high quality. As for bath it is inside the insen which is separated between male and female. There're strong wifi and as expected the room is very clean! You will enjoy traditional japanese bed with futon ans there's even the japanese traditional clithes for you to wear. A Lawson shop is just 800m away towards the right hand side. Using waze can get you walking to your destination. There's no house keeping though as there's only 1 lady managing the inn so please do self-house keeping. She can offer to cook for you if you want. The futon kept us warm in the chilling autumn. The lady is very nice in making sure us pack everything in time and go for a complimentary bus ride directly infront of the ryokan to the kawaguchiko train station to catch the train and even helped to carry my luggage and instant noodle. Definitely, you will enjoy staying here. However, bear in mind this is fuji area which is the opposite of tokyo. The bus stop operating around 5.11pm and starts at around 10am at kawaguchiko station. Ppl around here are not so kind(helpful) and the transportations are never on time. Only mini sight seeing buses available. If you have only 1 day I don't recommend you to go far unless you are willing to hire a cab. However, this was a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend this inn. Use waze using the free wifi at the kawaguchiko station to find the inn and turn on your gps. Get down at 5th station written at the small bus stop sign board and follow your waze. For free wifi find out about NTT EAST.

Lovely place to enjoy Kawaguchiko-ko”
Great location, very clean, staff are lovely. Described as a "budget ryokan". Onsen is small and can be intimidating to the initiated as there is only one tub. No meals included, but only a 10 min walk to restaurants and shops. Would stay here again.

Very good”
It's a small family-run ryokan. A little cold when we visited at the end of March. The staff was friendly. We ordered the breakfast upon check-in and paid in cash. It was a typical traditional Japanese breakfast, pretty decent. It's a long walk from the station, but the ryokan provides pickup service if you call them.

Great place”
This was our first stay in a Ryokan and we enjoyed it. It is an experience that you should try but I suspect not all will appreciate it - we did. The Onsen is very small. It is not mixed so my wife and I could not enjoy it together. When we were there we never had to share. It is quite a distance from the town center. They provide a shuttle to the train station twice a day (not sure if vice versa). It is across the road from the lake. From the rooftop you can see 'the mountain'

Fairly disappointing place”
It was quite far away from Kawaguchiko Train Station, which made it inconvenient. There were hardly any amenities nearby; restaurants were a good 20-30 minute walk away. Do note that there are complimentary pick up services from the train station to the ryokan if you notify them in advance. The ryokan was tucked away in a small street facing the lake, which made it secluded and peaceful. My main grouse with Akaishi was the cleanliness of the room. While the sleeping area was fine, the toilets looked worn out and a little grimy. By Japanese standards, this was quite unacceptable. In addition, there was no hot water supplied to the ensuite toilet. We had to go downstairs to use the public shower area, which was (thankfully) far cleaner. The drawback is that there is zero privacy in the public shower, so you have to be comfortable showering in full view of other people. On a whole, I wouldn't recommend this place. There are better options around the area.

Quiet, comfortable bed and big room.”
Overall is great. I really love my room. They provide shuttle service to Kawaguchi station. They can drive to nearby bicycle rental service.I rent a bicycle from noon til 6pm for 500yen. The breakfast is 1500 yen but you can try authentic japan countryside food.Very tasty. You can view Mt.Fuji from upstairs balcony. Ask them about heater when you check-in if the weather chilly.

Lovely traditional ryokan ”
The family that hosts this property is very sweet and caring. We enjoyed the family atmosphere and spectacular views of Mount Fuji-San. Although the onsen was small it was very clean and comfortable. Great views of Kawaguichico Lake!

Very good”
The traditional breakfast was big and worth the extra money, and the general experience of staying here was really great! Was a bit hard to communicate because our Japanese is poor but owners/staff were very nice and friendly!

Close to the Lake can't not see the fuji views ”
Cant not walk from the Kawakugiko staion to the hotel but you can tell staff at Information, call the hotel come topick you up. You have to share the bathroom with other, which might be one of Ryokan style, you can see people are taking a shower in front of you. I like the room but i dont like to share bathroom like that. What i got from the hotel are not worth for money i paid

Great views but disappointing”
Faces the lake, has a roof with (partially blocked) view of Mt. Fuji. Short walk away from any restaurants but nice and quiet at night. Long walk from station but there is a shuttle (requires advance notice for pickup). Ladies' onsen was not working when I went - the bath was full of clean water but it was cold! Facilities could use updating - the room itself was clean but there were (very large) spiders in the hallway and bath/onsen room.

Good”
Onsen was amazing, view on the roof with Mt Fuji was good but obscured by a tree. Nice to be given some grapes by the staff before dinner. A short distance from the bus route.
