Great and Very Convenient Location ”

The 3 best things about this hotel are : the very convenient location (easy access to subway), Airport Limousine Bus Stop in front of the hotel and room cleanliness.

We booked two rooms at Akasaka Excel Hotel for five nights. Rooms were clean with complete amenities. Small rooms that we had a hard time packing and unpacking because of the limited space for our luggages. The rooms airconditioning were not cool. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable with an outstanding shower and good supply of shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap. Beds were comfortable but pillows were bit small making us hard to sleep at night.Akasaka-Mitsuke Station was just across the hotel which was very helpful especially for tourists because it has four or five subway lines ( an easy access point to get across most of Tokyo), thats make it very easy to go anywhere. Also, opposite the hotel is a night market street that you can enjoy good food and drink like ramen, yakitori, wine and beer etc. There are also souvenir shops. Close to the hotel are Starbucks, Tully's Coffee, 7-11 convenient store, Godiva, Mc Donalds and Bic Camera, a huge nine floor discount store for easy shopping, like camera, electronics items, toys, luggages, cosmetics, clothes, souvenir items and a lot more. Akasaka Excel Hotel is listed in the airport limousine route which make it easy to travel from airport to hotel and hotel to airport for just 3,100 yen per person per way.

Nice hotel with great convenience!”

Clean hotel room with a great access to subway lines and a wide variety of restaurants

The hotel is right next to two subway stations, allowing you access to five subway lines. If you plan to go around Tokyo using public transportation, this is a great place to stay. The hotel is in the great restaurant district where we had access to many different kinds of (both Japanese and non Japanese/expensive and less expensive)restaurants. There is a 7/11 convenience store on the first floor where you can pick up travel necessities as well as food. This place is also close to Starbucks, Tully's Coffee, McDonald's, BIC CAMERA (a huge discount store), etc. Beds are little small but the room was really clean with a retracting clothesline in the bathroom for those who want to wash small items and a good supply of shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap.(I knew this and did not even bother to bring my own.) Our room had a small fridge (with a very small freezer)with a good wifi connection. You can take a limo bus service from Narita International Airport and go straight to Akasaka Excel Tokyu Hotel. We would stay there again next time when we visit Tokyo!

Excellent Hotel in a Great Location”

Great location with a an intersecting Tokyo Subway station just across the street. A 24/7 Seven Eleven convenience store on the ground floor for forgotten necessities and snacks. A good selection of traditional and western food outlets (even a McDonalds for those who can't do without french fries) in the vicinity. Complete & clean accommodations, with excellent staff service.
Typical small room for a Japanese hotel with twin beds, but nicely arranged and furnished. Could do with an in-room safe for small valuables of travellers though.

Due to our flight schedule, we (including an 85 yr old Grandmother & 60 yr Sister) checked into the hotel past 11 pm. Service was efficient and friendly. The staff were proficient in english, and checking in was easy with minimal fuss. Although initial impression of the room was small, the twin beds and fixtures fit in quite nicely into the space. Basic drink & bathroom amenities were completely stocked & restocked on a daily basis during our week stay. Room service were quick to respond to our requests for off hours "make up room". Concierge services for booking tours and bus/limousine pick-ups were reliable. The only negative i can recall is when a local acquaintance dropped by around 1 pm while we were away, and we received the info note (with contact details) slipped under our door past 11 pm. Otherwise the whole Akasaka Excel Tokyu stay was very pleasant, and I wouldn't mind staying there again next time.

I will stay here again”

The eateries around Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu are abundant, easily accessible via an overhead bridge that connects from the hotel. There's also a subway exit just right next to the hotel. The area is calm unlike the mass crowd in places like Shibuya or Shinjuku, perfect retreat at the end of the day. And with the airport bus pickup available right at the hotel's doorstep, it's definitely an attractive choice, especially if your flight is early in the morning!

An affordable tokyo hotel”

Convenient location, clean and helpful staff
Rooms small but reasonable for the price

The Akasaka Excell Hotel is a reasonably-priced hotel located in central Tokyo which is conveniently located near many popular tourist destinations. A subway station is located across the road and can be accessed by a pedestrian bridge. The rooms, although somewhat small, are adequate for most purposes and reasonable for the price. Great Hotel in a Great Location”

I've only stayed here whenever I can get a deal on Agoda. Usually the Excel is pretty pricey but if you can score a deal, it's worth the few extra dollars. The rooms are spacious, relatively speaking, compared with the usual Tokyo hotel rooms. The staff here are excellent and the shuttle bus to the airport picks you up in front of the hotel. There is a plethora of restaurants and bars across the street, surrounding the Akasaka-Mitsuke Metro Station. I'll stay here again, if I can get a good deal.

Great Hotel! Very Convenient”

The Location is Excellent! Just across Tokyo Metro Station. 7-11 on the ground floor and good cafe. Also, Free shuttle to and from Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea
Small Rooms and the windows do not open completely and Small Bathrooms.

We stayed in this hotel from Nov to Dec 2009. The rooms were clean and location was very convenient. The staff knew how to speak English and were very nice and helpful. And just across the street was Tokyo Metro "Akasaka-Mitsuke" Station although only two lines pass through. The metro lines are Ginza Line and Maranouchi Line. The part I loved best about this hotel was that even after midnight the place is alive, illuminated due to winter illumination and there is Mc Donalds accross the street and 7-11 Just on the Ground Floor. This hotel is a 3.5 star to 4-star hotel probably due to its location, but in terms of Room size and Quality, I would say it is comparable to an average 3 star Hotel. There is not much English channels and I did not find a swimming pool. There is a direct stop from Narita Airport Limousine Bus to and from this hotel. There are many shops just across the Hotel and there are many cheap restaurants just behind the subway station. I particularly loved the Vending-Type noodle house behind the subway station. Overall the place is very much lively, well lit and safe for first time travelers and this hotel's services are excellent. They even helped provide an in-tub seat for my grandmother and they took time to put a tub handle to help my Grandmother.

Great accessibility.”

Great 4-star hotel. Would recommend to anyone here who is looking for a hotel away from the buzz. Plenty of food options nearby along Akasaka (minus the crowd, a good thing). There is a convenience store right below the hotel. Transport wise - It is located just across the road from Tokyo subway line akasaka-mitsuke, with easy access to Shinjuku, Shibuya. There is also a private hotel shuttle bus that takes you from the hotel to the airport (Haneda 1000Y+, Narita 3000Y+). We had bigger pieces of luggage with 4 adults and took a taxi, which costs us around 6500Y, reasonable pricing. Great staff and cleanliness, some rooms come with a Nespresso machine and Bose speakers :)

Great location, comfortable room, friendly hotel staff

Great stay at Akasaka Excel Hotel. Hotel is located within walking distance of 2 metro stations (5 metro lines), making it very convenient for travelling around Tokyo. Room was quite spacious for Tokyo's standard. Loved the little touches of luxuries like the Tempur pillow, Nespresso machine and Toshiba air purifier. Nice hotel in convenient location.”

Very easy access to Tokyo Metro.

from outside the hotel seemed like one of the generic chain, but as soon as one steps inside it is different story. it is on top of upscale shopping center and rooms have very nice feel and japanese style sliding window blinds made me feel like i am in small japanese cabin. service was also excellent and one can organize all kinds of activities with concierge. metro station is right across the street where is one lively shopping and dining area. also airport limousine (bus) stop to both airports is right at the door. it cost little more than train, but it is price for convenience of door to door service. akasaka/roppongi is good central point for visiting numerous tokyo sights. i would highly recommend this hotel.

Another fantastic experience! We keep coming back!”

Again a fantastic experience! We first stayed here in 11/2015 and now again in 5/2017; and both experiences were 1st rate! When we travel to Tokyo, we love to stay in Akasaka, and this is the best spot. Predominately, a business hotel, the area is quiet and feels a bit like San Francisco. With green areas nearby, street upon street of restaurants, and high rise office buildings we felt right at home. It’s a great home base for seeing this side of Tokyo, and it eases you into Tokyo life at a slower pace than Shinjuku. The metro and buses are just steps away. The room sizes are large by Japanese standards, and very comfortable. We especially like the superior double, it has a bit more space and well worth the little extra cost. There are restaurants in the lobby, but you’d be better off going out to the terrace restaurants or across the street, where there are tons of places to eat. The bed is very comfortable and the style of the rooms is light and airy with modern zen overtones. And if you choose a room with a tub, you will definitely feel as if you have had a true Japanese experience. We will always stay here when in Tokyo!

location, accessibility, free internet, 7-eleven, mcdonald's near the hotel

I stayed at this hotel because someone recommended it. I'm glad I did - it's so convenient to stay at the Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu. The airport limousine bus stops here, there's a shuttle that goes from the hotel to DisneySea/Disneyland and back, and the subway stop (Akasaka Mitsuke) is just across the street (under the basement of the mall). I would stay here again for sure if I had the chance to go back to Tokyo.

Good location, average hotel”

Location is the best feature. Rooms are also quite a nice size. It is clean and good value.
A few things are a bit old in the rooms.

The hotel is very well located right in front of Akasaka Mitsuke which is a major metro station. It is very easy to access different parts of Tokyo from here. Also, the Akasaka area has a lot of good restaurants and bars and is a great place to stay while in Tokyo. The Narita Airport limouzine drops and picks up from the hotel which is an added bonus since you can get from and to the airport very easily. A few appliances in the rooms are a bit old but the facilities are very good. Internet works and is fast, bathrooms are nice and clean, bed is comfortable and the room is quite spacious.

Good”

Good area in the heart of Tokyo, ground level has shops, restaurants, and convenient stores, friendly staffs, everythings clean, average-sized rooms

Overall good, rooms are alright, quite spacy for Tokyo standard but still not that big. Location is excellent in Akasaka, close to huge govt & corporate offices as well as great restaurants, close to Roppongi for those who seek nightlife, and right across Akasaka mitsuke station with metro lines going to other parts in the city (direct lines to Shibuya, Shinjuku, etc.) Too bad it was summer and there was an aircon issue when I stayed so it was fairly hot at night inside the room. Also when I complained to the staff, for a second he didn't believe me. It was only when I insisted that he decided to send someone to check the problem. And yes, there was a problem but it was quickly fixed.

Ideal Location, Great Conierge Service, Transport ”

Akasaka-Mitsuke subway station is just opposite the hotel by crossing the road with two lines - Ginza (yellow) and Maranouchi (red) lines that takes you to most parts. Airport limousine here too!

Akasaka-Mitsuke subway station is just opposite the hotel by crossing a zebra crossing, next to BIC electronic store. The two lines are Ginza (yellow) and Mararouchi (red) lines that takes you to most of the city centre like Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibuya all in less than 10 mins. It's also easy to get to JR line if you wish to go out of Tokyo. Super convenient for its location. Also, the airport limousine bus comes to this hotel and depart from here to both Narita and Haneda airports too. Plenty of restaurants serving great food from low to mid budgets just opposite the hotel, just behind MacDonalds is a few alleys with good restaurants serving teppan, yakitori, noodles, etc and a few convenient stores too. The concierge staff are super helpful in giving directions and their service in keeping our bags (for 4 days when we left for Osaka) and ensuring we have them in time for the airport limousine bus when we return is perfect. The room is of good standard for 2, even for 2 large suitcases! There is a convenient store just on the ground floor of hotel too! I will definitely come back again!

Great Hotel in a Convenient Location”

Akasaka-Mitsuke Station is right across the street from the hotel, and Nagatacho -- which is about a 3-5 minute walk -- has a connecting underground path to the second floor of the hotel. Youu can easily get to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Tokyo Station, and Ikebukuro areas with the Ginza and Marunouchi lines. The hotel itself is great with helpful, polite staff. Their rooms are bigger than some other hotels in Japan, and it comes with plenty amenities. There is a restaurant and their breakfast buffet offers plentiful selections. The American buffet also has a Japanese cuisine section, but you can also opt for a strictly Japanese-only breakfast. Some other great thing about this hotel and its vicinity: - This hotel also is an airport limousine stop, so it gives you easy access to/from Haneda or Narita. - Its vicinity has a lot of restaurants and bars. - There is a Don Quijote nearby!

Nice size room and perfect location!”

This hotel was perfect for us. The rooms were on the larger size compared to normal Tokyo rooms and there was enough room for my teenage daughter and I to move around. Storage space is a little lacking for two people, but we managed okay. It took us a few moments of trying to figure out how to work the lights (room key needs to be kept in a special holder) and we never figured out how the a/c worked (temperature did not seem to change even though we changed the thermostat), which was not a problem since outside was about 50 degrees. The room was a comfortable temperature. There is a 7-11 on property, which was our go-to place for dinner and snacks. There are lots of other eating places within a 5-10 min walk behind the subway station. We loved that Akasaka-Mitsuke station was right across the street and traveling on all the major lines were quite easy. We are definitely staying here again the next time we visit Tokyo.

Great location”

Located right across the Akasaka-mitsuke station, it is very convenient to travel around Tokyo city. Room was a standard twin with a sofa, with more than enough room for us to open up 2 large luggage bags. I also appreciate the hotel’s effort to go green (Green Coin program) and also the use of refillable toiletries instead of those tiny single use plastic bottles. Many restaurants nearby, convenience stores (Family Mart , 7-11) and a Don Quixote store where you can get almost everything. There is also a Bic Camera store above the station. More of a business hotel, there weren’t as many tourists here which I personally prefer. Would definitely consider this hotel again the next time I visit Tokyo.

Super Convenient to get around ”

The hotel is directly across the train station that serves the Ginza (yellow) and Manourchi (red) lines which go to attractions and shopping areas in central Tokyo in less than 15 mins. You can take the Airport Limousine bus from Haneda or Narita airport to the hotel directly. But as the last bus departs at 9.30pm, I had to take the train instead. From the airport, go to the basement 2 to get onto the keikyo train to Shimbashi (check for the right train by reading the screen) and then change for the Ginza line to Akasaka-Mitsuke station. This station is only 2 mins from hotel. On return, take the bus direct to Haneda or Narita but last bus leaves around 8pm from hotel. You can take the train at Akasaka-Mitsui with the Ginza line to Shimbashi and change to Akasaka (pink) line that is bound for Haneda international airport.. Remember to board the right train at Shimbashi Akasaka line so you need to check with train staff or read the timing on the digital screen.
