the best part of saying there was the drive to the hills... some people are ok, but the owner its all about money and they rip you off. the food also its bad, the bungalows expensive and horrible... u can see the Akha tribe at all, they all want money the waterfalls ok, but the pool its not working nor the wifi,,,, i will not recommend this place.

Beautiful place”
Very beautiful and silent place. There were only few other tourists, so it was pretty nice place to be. Specially the food was so delicious and cheap. For naturelovers, no partys here and no wifi. I recommend for two nights.

Great location, horrible hotel ”
The location is amazing, but the hotel is infested with bugs (over 60 bugs were living in our room). The AC barely works, half the time it blows warm humid air making the room way hotter/ humid than outside (extremely hard to sleep in a sauna with bugs crawling on your face). Finding the hotel - The hotel is on google maps (even it showed us the days we booked) one location is in the middle of a field 30min away from the actual location, second is in Chiang rai at a place that we could not locate, third is on the travel websites, none of the 3 are where the hotel is located. After 7+ hrs on a motorbike we rode around an extra 4 hrs going to each location, (we called them numerous times with no clear answer of where the place was besides "look up a water fall and we are there" then finally getting directions from a local. Staff- Some of the staff was helpful the rest don't care you exist and are too lazy or occupied with their phone to help. Don't mind those? You'll love the place!

Wonderful people. ”
I wish we had more time with the akha hilltribe. The people were lovely. The food was great. It's exactly as it looks in the photos. This isn't a 5 star hotel but if you're looking for an authentic experience with locals and beautiful views - this is the spot. I can't wait to go back.

Great Stay!”
Quiet hill top oasis just outside of Chiang Rai. Great base for multi-day treks or casual walks to the local waterfall and hot springs. I throughly enjoyed my stay in VIP Bungalow #4!!

Great location but basic accommodation ”
The view out of the huts is amazing. The place is difficult to find and a bit overpriced regarding that the mosquito net had huge holes and the facilities are very basic. Good for one night but then it gets a bit tough. I would recommend it to nature lovers.

Secluded and authentic”
This is great for anyone looking to get off the beaten track, away from the busy city and to experience beautiful nature and authentic village life. The location is gorgeous, with great places to visit within walking distance. The locals are amazing, and the food is decent and well priced (60 baht or so for a meal)

What a quiet night.”
I am a repeater. Last time air condition was out of order. This time it was amended. Bed matress was properly changed. Last time it was very old to sleep confortably. I would repeat my visit Appe Hill Hotel next year. One thing I would like to request is house cleaning periodically at least once a day. No house keeping neuther cleaning was provided during my 5 days-stay. Other than the house keeping issues everything OK. See you next time. Bye. Chisato

A nice escape from the city ”
We had a pleasant few days in the Akha Hill House Hostel. The driver picked us up from the old bus station and drove us the 20km to the hostel. When we checked into the roo we were a bit surprised as the room was very basic considering we booked the "VIP room" (it is just a bed and the bathroom). However the private balcony has an amazing view of the hills which made up for the room (there were two plastic chairs and a tree stump table). The food was very good and the staff seemed very friendly, although conversation was difficult sometimes.

The hill house is just that, a bungalow style room built from the local bamboo and materials. Pretty close to nature, sometimes too close, like the giant Dinosaur lizard that lives in P1. Enjoy.

The only place to stay in Chiang rai”
Super tasty and healthy food. Must try the chilli paste and banan flower curry. Outstanding location and incredibly warm and helpful staff
The best place to stay when in Chiang rai. A truly fantastic and original experience. A location you will find nowhere else. With healthy and very tasty a la carte food. And inexpensive. Always a fire burning and cold beer in the fridge. Loved the self service aspect. Warm and friendly staff. Beautiful views and places to visit in easy and fair walking distance. A magical environment.

Well worth the trip!”
hike to the waterfall, stroll through tea farms, local company
Staff was friendly and offered cold beers after long walks. Sunrise and sun set on the deck of your bungalow is spectacular. This is a must stay if traveling through Northern Thailand.

The Views”
The views, the air, and the timing.
Even though we visit at the low season we had a great time. The views were fantastic for the prices in the P bungalows. A fan room is fine for all times of the year as the weather in the mountains is much cooler than the cities.

Beautiful place out in the jungle”
location, price, free transport
We wanted to check in early and get some hiking in on the first day of our stay, so rather than wait until 4:30pm to catch the free shuttle, we chartered a songthaew for 600 Baht for 4 people. I think we got a pretty decent deal on the ride, because this place was pretty far outside of town, and up past a few hilltribe villages. We were able to get some lunch and check into our rooms early. The food is fine, and the prices are certainly reasonable, but they seemed to be lacking some flavor after eating so much tasty street food. There is a pretty awesome waterfall about a 15 min hike away. You can also hike to a hot spring which happens to be in Thailand's first National Park, and that takes about 45mins to get to as you pass through a few other hilltribe villages on the way. We only had one night to spend at the hill house, so we weren't able to go on any organized treks or get further afield, but we had a great time.

Breathtaking scenerie”
The location, the food, the hiking program
This is where the road finely ends! It's very central because it's right in the middle of nowhere.. Food is very good and local (mostly organic) Very advanced tracking guides will guide you thrue the jungle if you like that. The bungalows are very basic and bringing your own flashlight is a good idea as the backside slope is without lights.. This was my first stay here and I will come back for some hiking!
