    Basic but beautiful ”

No frills no thrills, spacious room with large bamboo bed, bamboo furniture but basic accommodation. Reception not operating all the time, breakfaSt very minimum but ok, rural hotel portraiting Akha people village from the mountains, but far from city centre. Sufficient for 1 or 2 nights, interesting for the scenery of green around. A large Hut in the outskirts of Chiang Rai

    Unclean”

No soap or toilet paper. Far walk from the city. The shared bathrooms didn’t seem to ever be cleaned during our stay. The room was spacious though. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the staff was nice but it’s a weird spot under a bridge. Okay if you want to live like a bridge troll for a couple nights.

A place to rest your head”

I booked one night here knowing ahead of time about the poor reviews of this place. I didn't believe it could be as bad as people were saying, but it was. There were piles of garbage everywhere on the property, the washrooms stunk like garbage, the walls in the room were paper thin (I could here the next room over playing YouTube videos on her phone). I at least had the expectation that it would be in quiet natural environment by the river. This was also not true. The property is next to a busy highway in Chiang Rai. It was not secluded at all. At least there was breakfast to look forward to. After all, the advertisement on Agoda says "Breakfast included". Nope. The next morning I went to the reception to inquire about breakfast and they said no we only have coffee and tea. This place has potential but is run down and the owners don't seem to care to turn it into anything that people want to stay in.

horrible experience! Agoda does not solve problem and hotel. wrong!”

hotel or whatever it is called, in horrible conditions, beds in very poor condition, dirty, old and with many insects. I made a reservation through Agoda, and when we arrived, we found a room that was dreadful, the mattresses were already springs of old that are, dirty, full of horrible insects and bath. We made the comment to the owner and girls of the reception, to cancel the reservation, since it was impossible to stay, not even one night. and all ok! the next day I get a vobro for No Show. I contacted agoda and with said hotel and nobody gave me the solution. Poor experience with Agoda and the recommended hotel. this happened on 13.12.18 in Chiang Rai.

    Reviews did not lie”

As previus reviews said, shared bathroom was just disgusting. I had to grab the water pistol and wash away spiderwebs along with massive spiders on them. They only cleaned them after part of my group asked for it, but no cleaning was done for the first 3 days. Room was ok, so was location, a 10 or 15 min walk to the main street. Staff was nice, they tried to make their best.

    Lovely Highland Trip Furnished”

Beautiful setting; right on rivers edge

Loved everything. Staff very helpful. Hotel is owned and managed by the Akha hilltribe; and tried to use natural materials to build and furnish the room; let us use the bikes to explore town. Helped to arrange a travel tour; and transportation. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Modern hotel, but with great local character

Great welcome, friendly and obliging. Not much English but they try hard and it is alright in the end.... Nice riverside location (don't forget your dimp.....Mosquitos abound). This was my second visit, and I will be back. However, I will eat out, even for breakfast.......

Nice basic accommodations near town center”

    Nce green view

Nice basic accommodations a couple blocks from town. As said the rooms are basic and are on a small tributary of the main river nice view but not wonderful. The rooms were not made up the second day. And they had no information about our reservation until I showed them Agoda booking sheet... Don't pay extra for the VIP room - all you get is an extra window that must be kept closed & curtained because there is a house right next door...

nice rooms and very quiet place

Lovely staff serves you on your wishes - if you do not want the standard breakfast - toast and eggs - just ask and you will be served - otherwise every day eggs and toast ..... Location is good, not to far from center. we stayed even some days longer - at more intresting prices Agodo could offer .... For sitting outside be aware of the mosquitos. We discovered from there the all area with a rented motorbike.

Nice common areas, hotel would benefit from deep cleaning and maintenance. ”

Location is a bit out of the way in the corner of a river and a busy highway. Mosquitoes are fierce! The size of the room and bed are good, but our stay was not very comfortable. There was a dead fly on the blanket, ants between the sheets, spider webs on the corners of the room, the mattress had a deep cavity, and there was a maintenance problem and we had to wait until midnight for running water.

    The worst place ever ”

The first night we couldn’t sleep because the front desk guy had a party with his local friends by the pool table right next to our door. The bathrooms and bedrooms and everything was completely dirty and dusty like never clean. We never had toilet paper for the bathroom and we asked when would they clean the bathrooms to use them because they were awful and the guy told us they clean once ONCE A WEEK and it wasn’t time. The place is abandoned by the owners for sure... what a shame. The bedroom has dust and dirt all over specially in the corners (floor), the bed liners were clean but the mattress was horrible... you can feel the springs right away they are very very old. It is walkable to downtown but still 15-20 walk. I would never stay here again. It is the dirtiest accommodation I have seen in my life. Thanks god Agoda reimbursed own money to stay somewhere else.

Useless staff and dirtiest night of our backpack trip”

Only one person could speak a little english, the rest of the staff are either doing nothing or playing at the pool table without the possibility to play without them... our room was dirty, the walls are thin and the fan is slow/weak. We booked 2 nights and only stayed for the first, we went for a place closer to the bus stations and where we can have a night of sleep.

Run down, dirty, but will do for a layover if you're looking for cheap as hell”

Extremely basic, with literally just a bed and fan in the room (no trash can). Showers are dirty and terrible water pressure. Staff was helpful at first but then seemed annoyed when we asked for assistance or advice. But you get what you pay for!

sweet staff and a peaceful setting”

This place was very quiet and peaceful. My room was beautiful and had a lovely balcony which you could sit out on. I asked for one a bit further away from reception, which is also further away from the big main road, so I didn't get that much traffic noise, and the view of the road was mostly blocked by trees, if I looked towards it. But my balcony view mainly was of a beautiful jungle-y scene. It felt very nice to sit out there in the evening with a book. I stayed in low season and it felt like I could have been the only guest! I'm not sure if it was for this reason that the place didn't serve food? Which is really a massive drawback considering that it is really far out of the centre. You can walk in in maybe 30 minutes, and there was a little market maybe 15 or so minutes walk, where you can buy some nice local street food. The girl working on reception was really sweet and helpful. The main issue for me, apart from the distance being a bit far out of town (although it is really close to a great coffee house - akha coffee? maybe? amazing coffee there! and a lovely owner), was that the room was damp. I think this is maybe an issue with the climate and rainy season here, so maybe it is the same everywhere? But it meant that the room smelled of damp a bit, and that wasn't great. One last positive is the guesthouse also organise free pickup to go to their mountain village (hill tribe) place where you can stay, and it's super peaceful and beautiful there. Very basic, though - be warned!

    Old facility and rough staff”

We had booked 2 nights online several days before showing up. The owner couldnt find our booking and was really difficult and unfriendly. It took 20min of showing him receipts/conf emails for him to gives us a room. As we walked through the buildings, we noticed how little maintenance this hostel got, weeds growing everywhere, random stuff stored throughout the property. The rooms are cheap but expects bugs and the overall cleaness is disappointing. Go for it if you are on a budget and dont plan on spending time at the hostel.

    Needed a room”

    Price, location, pool table

Needed a room after I missed the last bus home and on a busy weekend all the cheap places were taken, but because this room is about 1.5km north of the city center they had availabilities. It was a shared bathroom option, two bathrooms, one had no light, and the other had vomit in the sink... i was sick at the time so that all just made my situation even more fun. The bed hurt my back, but because there were two beds in my room I was worm after taking the second beds blankets.
