Lovely hotel in a great location”
Myself and a friend stayed here for 4 nights, and we would've stayed longer if we could. Al's resort is a lovely hotel made up of lots of modern bungalow/Villa rooms and has two pools, one of which looks right out to the sea with its infinity feature. The location was ideal for us as we liked having the pool and the beach to alternate between. There were plenty of loungers by the beach, we never had to bathe on the sand, although the pool was usually busy. I'm not sure the hotel could fit many more loungers in by the infinity pool but if they could it would be a bonus! We ate only beach snacks from the hotel such as satay, spring rolls and chips but they were all delicious and the drinks were reasonably priced. The stretch of beach where the hotel is on, is lovely white sand and not too busy. Obviously we went in low season though (July) so it could be busier at peak times. The location is brilliant in terms of restaurants and bars too. Just a short stroll along the beach and you can dine in any of the neighbouring hotel beachside restaurants if you fancied a change from Al's. walking through the hotel to the road side, there were numerous restaurants all lining the streets prividing plenty of choice. For a meal and one drink you are looking to pay about 150 baht (Thai food) to around 300 baht (western). This is cheap compared to Bangkok. There are some very local Thai restaurants selling street type food for 30-40 baht too if you hunt them out. Usually they are the ones with a huge line of travellers outside queuing to get in! :) The room was lovely - deluxe courtyard- the bathroom was great and the air con worked very well. There are beach towels available from the beach bar too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chaweng beach and if I return to Samui, I will definitely stay here again.

As Promised”
Al's resort is exactly at the Chaweng beach which is the most happening street. the room was lovely and big with all the facilities needed . I booked a studio sea view apartment and wasn't disappointed at all! the staff is very helpful and helped us with everything. but the only thing is there is no lift if you book the same apartment us me, but that's fine . I will stay here again if I ever visit Koh Samui!

Great resort in heart of Chaweng”
al's resort is a great choice if you're looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in chaweng. al's located on a great strip of the beach, quiet end of chaweng but close enough to all the nightlife has to offer. rooms are comfortable and the staff is great. our a/c didn't work when we got checked into the room but the staff sent someone in to fix it immediately. courtyard pool was clean and relaxing... could use a few more chairs and loungers since more people were starting to use that pool.

Great place to stay, the beach is crowded though”
We spent one night at Al's resort it was very nice, but we didn't like the fact that there were so many people on the beach. We then moved to their new hotel - Al's laemson, which is on the north end of Chaeng, the main beach. The location for the other hotel is much more peaceful and tranquil with new rooms and a great pool. It's a bit farther of from the center but very easy to get around with the free shuttle bus they provide. The value for money is great, truly worth it and not so expensive compared to similar hotels. For a peaceful getaway I would recommend Al's Laemson. For being right in the center of things - I would recommend Al's resort.

Great location”
I stayed at Al's Resort 2 years ago and it has been improved with a new reception area and better service. The rooms are small and dark without much privacy from the neighbors but you cannot beat the location. Close to everything on Chaweng so beach activities in the day time and nightlife is close. Try Green Mango at midnight then move to Sound Pub at 3am and then to Solo until dawn. Before midnight, you can eat, drink, play pool, and get a massage but things awake after midnight on Chaweng. The hotel is close to everything so a good base day and night.

Great Hotel, great location, great price”
We loved Al's resort. The courtyard rooms were lovely although our friend's had a sewer smell at the back of theirs when you opened back door. The pool area is superb and looks over the beach. Cocktails and food at the pool bar are yummy and reasonably priced. The breakfast was a bit disappointing just in the way it was cooked I think. We had definately had better but hey at an extra $2.50AUD per person it was enough, and they can cook good fried/poached eggs even if their omelets were not the best. The hotel is in a great area of Chewang with lots of bars and restaurants close by. The supermarket at the entrance to the hotel is great. We also got a great deal on scooters from the lady directly out the front of the hotel.

Very affordable and convenient stay”
Al's Resort was a great place to stay in Chaweng and would highly recommend the hotel. Close to the beach with an incredible view from the pool and bar, the place is quiet and the rooms are all lovely and clean and of a good size. Easily accessible to the main street in Chaweng which makes it easy to just walk around everywhere without paying for taxis's or for a scooter. Staff were friendly and helpful and served a great buffet breakfast. Really great value for money.

Al's Resort ”
I stayed in Al's resort just after Sonkran. this is the second time I have stayed, the hotel is great for the beach and the pool is very good withh apaddling pool for young children. The hotel is ideally situated for the resturants and nightlife of chaweng. The staff are polite, the rooms though basic are clean and tidy. However my stay this time was marred by building works being carried out with constant jackhammer going on most of the day, make sure this work has finished before going.

One Word - GREAT!”
My stay was amazing. I don't get why people don't like the "old" rooms. According to the staff I stayed in one of the old rooms and it was really clean, fresh and comfortable. For ones I felt like the pictures told the truth. Al's resort is a great resort with the best location, great pool and next to resort on the beachside is a great Reagge Bar called Lipsmackers. Al's resort fits everybody. You can be 21 or 55. Doesn't matter! If you are backpacking it may be a little to much money but it's really worth the price. I paid about 30 euros per night. I added some nights later and closer to christmas so then the price went up about 10 euros. Luckely I split the cost with a friend when I added nights.

Nice resort...totally worth a look!”
Set back about 150 meters, Al's is near the road in the perfect Chaweng neighborhood...lots and lots to do here. On the property, rooms were really nice (small ant problem in a room 1/2 way to the beach), but the wall to wall windows, although nice for light and view, left little privacy. Although small, the infinity pool faced a tremendous view of the ocean. The ocean is a bit rough here, mellower to the North. The restaurant is a bit pricey, as is the whole resort, but it's well worth the money. At $54 it was a steal, but when it went up to $66, it just got a bit too pricey. Still, it's worth the money and the staff tries hard to please. They are kind and gracious. The resort has thought of everything, a shower leaving the beach, foot cleaning stations on the way to the rooms, extra towels, pretty much everything one could want. Nice place!

Comfort on the beach”
We enjoyed our stay at Al's Resort. The location is great with access immediately onto the beach and if you head in the opposite direction you are on the main road amongst the restaurants, bars and shopping. We love staying in Chaweng and feel Al's Resort suits our needs perfectly. We will always return to Al's Resort when in Koh Samui.

If not fussy about rooms but value other things”
This hotel is in the centre of the beach, great location opposite central festival shopping centre and main restaurant and night life area. Also great part of the beach to swim, reef creates a lagoon shallow area to the North. Rooms are spacious, clean have all facilities, just a bit basic, slightly dates but great value in this price range. They have 2 pools and a lot of parking that is also unusual for central Chaweng. It is quiet tucked back from the main road. My only complaint was the constant necessity to log back into the wifi every 20 minutes or so and not always a good signal. Unless you are working not really a big issue. I have been visiting and lived in Samui for 30 years so I kind of know most places although it is constantly changing. You can find better rooms at this price but not with the location etc to match. Other alternatives are Chaweng Beach gardens smaller rooms, but also very nice, Montien House the same but facilities are not so good, Casa de Mar 👌

good value for money ”
I stayed at Al's resort for 3 nights in March 2012 and it was a very pleasant stay. It has one of the best locations on Chaweng beach and is surrounded by shopping, nightlife, water sports avenues, restaurants etc. In spite of being so central it isn't noisy at all and is a great mix of quiet and happening. For the price Al's resort was great. The breakfast was nice, the staff was helpful and sweet and our room was clean and sufficient. The rooms are simple but have all the facilities such as hot water, tv, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer and so on. We had the courtyard deluxe room in a quiet corner and it was very nice. Both the pools are lovely and not too overcrowded. The hotel is right on the beach so swimming in the sea is a more attractive option at night they set up tables on the beach for dinner. We booked a great tour through them - there is a great tour shop right outside the hotel which offers good prices for tours and airport transfers. They don't have free internet but the rates are quite decent - 100 baht for the whole day. Check-in and check out was a breeze and overall I would stay at this place again, specially at what it offers for the price. If you have a higher budget you can opt for a fancier place but if you are looking for a great option at a great price then this is it! One suggestion to Al's resort management: The place does need a little bit of a face lift and more maintenance. The main grounds and rooms are clean but some areas around the back and front are not so clean - and stuff is lying around in plain sight which should be kept away. Also a clean-up of the beach in front would be awesome.

Great location and quiet”
Every year for the past 5 years we have been traveling to Koh Samui for a late summer getaway. For the past 3 years we have stayed at Al's Resort for its location and quiet seclusion away from the noise of the nightlife just seconds away on the main strip of Chaweng. However, this was probably the last year we book with Al's. The rooms are okay, but for the money you pay you could stay at a better hotel. The service wasn't terrible, but it was't great either. The ladies at reception were okay, but every morning at the restaurant for breakfast we were greeted with frowns and gloom. The shower water as well as the tap water was brown and when we asked for it to be looked at (3 times very politely), no one even bothered to for the full 5 nights we were there. Although the rooms are clean and the location is great, Al's needs to put forth a bit more effort if it wants to satisfy customers.

Paradise on an Island”
I can't express enough how amazing this resort is!! This is my second time around and it does not disappoint. Everything is amazing from the price of the rooms to the receptionist, bla bla, thats actually Her name and she is perfect, ask her for anything. The resort is situated on chaweng beach, literally walk out the front of the resort and there is the main beach with all kinds of attractions and activities. There are two pools a private one enclosed by rooms and another one on the beach with a pool bar. The service never seemed to amaze me and for the price you pay its more than worth it. Plus it is in the best location, beach out front, main road out back... no worries. Just a tip if you want to hire scooters get them from the resort because its very cheap and although we had an altercation, "crashed" with ours when we were driving the resort didn't even care, Remember speak to bla bla the receptionist if theres any problems... Remind her Anthony from Australia, the big guy with the boys ;)

Beach location absolutely stunning”
Very good resort right on the beach. The beach was just lovely-crystal clear water, and really safe for swimming. Sand was white and beach very clean. We booked a courtyard villa but were upgraded to a deluxe villa which was a lovely surprise. Lot's of space and lovely clean rooms. The bathroom was very tired and would be improved with a minor renovation-but clean and functional. The downside of this report for our particular circumstances was that it was located near noisy bars and clubs. Our villa was very exposed to this noise at night (I mean full on "doof doof" horrible music). There was also limited privacy where we stayed right at the front of the resort, next to the pool. The gorgeous ocean view however compensated for this and we still enjoyed our stay a lot. Staff were nice and polite. They were very friendly and helpful to us. I did see some guests who were not so polite and completely ignored staff who said hello to them.Unbelievable! While we enjoyed this resort we will not stay at Al's again only because we would prefer less noise and to be away from the hustle and bustle. But the same reason that we would not stay there again would most likely suit many tourists because it is so close to everything in Chaweng. The beach location is probably the best that we saw in our walks up and down the beach. Many of the rooms were quiet and located away from the noise that we experienced. We spoke to other guests who reported that their rooms were really quiet and had no exposure to the night life noises of Chaweng. I also think for couples seeking some peace and tranquility, this resort is very busy with families and children- which was lovely to see- but there are certainly many other quieter options of accommodation available when considering where to stay in Samui.

A great stay at Al's”
I really enjoy my stay at the Al's resort. I was kinda taken aback when the moment I stepped into the lobby. But, when I was lead my the bellboy to our room, my thought had changed totally. The room was awesome. I like everything about this resort. For group of gals like us, this resort definitely a right choice for us. We feel safe to stay here. And, the location was just tooooooo strategic. I will definitely stay here again if I'm back to KSM again.

Al's Resort”
Al's resort was a very comfortable, clean and neat resort. Everything we needed was supplied for us. The breakfast was great. It was right on the beach and so close to the main street. It was extremely handy having a supermarket at the front of the hotel. My friend's and I would definately stay at Al's Resort again.

The Heart of Chaweng”
Al's Resort was a great place to stay. Absolutely value for money. Upon arrival the hotel staff was very helpful and informative. Check-in went smoothly as always. This was our second time staying at this hotel and it seems the quality has remained consistent. The room was very spacious and clean. However, the courtside deluxe rooms are a fair distance to the beach and restaurant. There are two fair-sized pools so there is always a place to take a dip if the beach is crowded. One thing that we didn't appreciate was the traffic near the beach. The local marine sport businesses set up their booths right in front so the water was littered with jet-skis and small boats. The location was excellent, central to everything from shopping to restaurants to bars. There is even a grocery store in front of the hotel for late night shopping. Overall, an excellent place to stay on Chaweng.

Breathtaking view & an amazing ambience ”
It's neither too loud nor dull... the crowd during our stay was excellent and the food and other basics were better than what we've heard or read about. The staff is more than helpful though there is a little language issue but that's there in all of Samui. The arrangements made by the resort at the beach are excellent as well and the umbrellas, lounge chairs as well as towels etc. are neat and clean. Absolutely loved our experience at Al's and would definitely look at it during our next visit.
