worth money spent”

attentive staff, excellent room condition, very quiet for mind relaxing, Worth money spent

we were on our honeymoon vacation and coincidentally it was also my birthday. We stayed at Alam Puri (Ridi Villa unit) for a good 3days 2 nights and i must say instead of wanting to spend time outside, we rather enjoyed our time in the Villa itself. The place is so fantastic and GREEN!!! The Rice Field view is so refreshing and the sounds of the river soothes your night sleep. Our room has a super large outdoor living room equipped with 2 oversized couch and dining table. The private pool and Jacuzzi is very clean and securely hidden from public view so you can enjoy your own privacy there especially for honeymooners. Imagine this, you wake up to the green Padi field and garden view, have your breakfast accompanied by the breeze of fresh air from the fauna and then jump straight into your private pool as when you like without worrying if anyone watching you! Heaven! The kitchenette is perfect for family usage. we didn't use it as much as there were only 2. when we checked in, we were surprised by the nicely decorated bed and bath tub with roses. not only that, we were surprised, again, by a birthday cake nicely placed on the table when we came back from town. This place is perfect for inspiration as i can assure you won't be affected by noise pollution. If you want to get yourself connected with the outside world, there's always WIFI provided by the hotel. Free bike renting are provided too if you like cycling around the village. Food wise, plenty of meal selection offered by Alam Puri Restaurant. Mini library is provided too next to the large public swimming pool. If you love arts, the Villa has arts museum at the entrance. Unfortunately i didn't get the chance to pay my visit there as i was spending my time too much on my own Villa ;) Overall, i'm a very satisfied customer. I will definitely come back here for my next Bali visit. The friendly staffs including the General Manager I Wayan Darsana has left a very good impression for me and my partner. Kudos!

There is still a true Bali getaway”

Location, value for money, quiet

This place is fairly much in the middle of nowhere - as long as you recognise that then your decision gets easier. This is not a family place, it's not a party venue, and if you look closely you'll find a few things that could be tidied up or fixed. But if you just want to relax, and get a really nice place to stay at an excellent price, you could do far worse. We stayed in Villa Lempad, and it was fabulous; great front room, huge bedroom, bathroom and private pool really welcome. Use the regular shuttles to Ubud, and you can get to Sanur for a reasonable price. Kuta is a bit more expensive...but if you're staying at Alam Puri you're not a Kuta kinda person. Restaurant is reasonable - food is good if fairly Westernised, and not that cheap - but you can always eat in style elsewhere. The gardens are lovely, the setting is quiet (except for the temple broadcasts) and there's even a great Babi Guling place down in Penatih village. I have no plans to go back to the rest of Bali - but another week at Alam Puri is certainly on the cards.

Peaceful and relaxing, the perfect get away.”

Fantastic gardens, Amazing Villa's, Stunning Art

Overall our stay was more amazing than expect. The pool side villa was over the top amazing. Huge open rooms, private plunge pool, open air living room over looking the pool. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, gardens, statues, art. It's hard not to find the perfect picture at every angle. The restaurant over looks the grounds, pool and rice terraces in the distance, making for very relaxing atmosphere. To be honest it was hard to want to leave the resort, some days all we wanted to do was laze by the pool and enjoy the beauty all around. Alam Puri is the perfect get away resort, especially for those who like to avoid the hustle and bustle. The resort is situated about 15 mins ride from Ubud, with provided taxi service. For the adventuresome, motor scooters are also available to rent.

Peaceful and Candid”

We had come for a 8 Day tour to Bali and spent 3 days in Alam Puri Resort. We stayed remaining 4 days in Seminyak. Now coming back to Alam Puri, this has been a beautifully maintained resort wherein you'll find yourself close to nature. We couldn't spend much time exploring the resort and that is why it was only at the time of checkout we had found a river flowing inside the resort. Our villa was beautiful and we'll cherish our memories in Alam Puri.

In Bali for a month”

The cultural aspect of the archiitecture, the staff,, the comfort and privacy of all the rooms

We spent a wonderful month at this lovely resort in July thru to August. We found the staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were so friendly. We had Villa Arka with its own plunge pool, and magnificent gardens. I used the Spa , and the therapist Darni gave me the best facial I have ever had, so good I went back a second time later in our stay. The shuttle bus takes you into Ubud were there is so much to see. The ride to Ubud takes about 30 minutes. The restaurant does not have a wide menu but the food is very tasty, I loved the Kare Ikan Laut, mixed seafood and vegetables in a coconut based sauce, served with rice. The main pool area is just lovely surrounded by gorgeous gardens, the gardeners do a fabulous job. In short, we loved our stay in Alam Puri.

First class”

This hotel is just what we were looking for, plush and quiet, although close enough to all the major things you would want to do in bali. The staff are very friendly and helpful making you feel at ease. The room was clean and sizeable, exactly what you would expect from a hotel like this and does you fine while here, unless all you want to do is stay in your room then you might want a little more. The resteraunt was delicious and cheap perfect for a cozy evening in. All in all this is a great hotel and even better if you don't want to do the whole travel round bali thing as this if right in the middle of it all and taxis are so cheap. We stayed here and got to see everything and had an idyllic place to call home every night. Thank you alam puri.

This review is for Alam Puisi hotel in Ubud”

Great staff, clean and comfortable room

Alam Puri had a problem with their air conditioning when we came to check-in (late April 2014), so they transferred us at no charge to their newer, more luxurious sister property - Alam Puisi in Ubud. They also provided free transportation for us into Denpasar and back to Ubud. This more than compensated us for the initial inconvenience. Alam Puisi is first class in most respects. The one area that needs improvement is their kitchen, which produced food and drinks that were well below the standard set by the rest of this resort. If this were improved I would give Alam Puisi my highest recommendation.

Staff , view and Price

This is a very Balinese type resort. The staff cannot do enough for you and we stayed in the royal 2 bed suite and even got invited the the managers nieces wedding. It is a little remote but there is a shuttle to UBUD. We hired a driver so we were not isolated but still had the remote experience... We spent a fortune in Seminyak after it the double 6 in a two bedroom ocean view and would take Alam Puri over this all day long

Atmospheric and relaxing”

The pool, the restaurant, the gardens, the art

The hotel is a bit isolated, about 20-30 minutes from Ubud or from Denpasar, but once inside has a great atmosphere. The villas are built on a series of terraces leading down from the main entrance to a small river at the bottom and the builders have contrived to give each room an air of privacy as well as its own unique view. There are sculptures and art works everywhere and the attached art gallery has a very interesting collection of artefacts from across Indonesia. Each villa has its own plunge pool, and the swimming pool is set in a beautiful garden. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is also good, but if you are looking for variety, there is only one other restaurant within easy walking distance.

Beautiful hotel but”

The room layout and design, the view and a good shower

This is an exceptionally beautiful hotel with excellent rooms that are large and comfortable. However, during our stay the service did not meet our expectations. I attribute this to booking through agoda. The same story as we have had in the past for example in SE Asia, hotel staff do not treat agoda guests the same as regular guests. We paid for 2 nights stay at Alam Puri but stayed one night and left for the airport at 8pm the next day so did not make use of the second days breakfast or usage of the room. Despite this the manager would not provide complimentary transfer to the airport even though airport pickup is included in 2 night stay (which we did not use) and return service for 3 night stay. The TV in the room had terrible reception and all channels were either static or somewhat visible. TV should not be something to complain about when travelling but I would have liked to have it working when back after a day out. The restaurant served average meals at dinner (quite expensive) but the breakfast was great. The hostess was fine, except no one was there when we sat down, I just went up to the kitchen to let them know we were there, no problem. Don't be fooled by the false advertising that the location is Ubud, its not, but this is overcome by a free shuttle bus to the Ubud centre (15km away) though sadly the arrival and pickup times do not allow for much time in Ubud...... All in all this is a great hotel which is superbly decorated and maintained. Agoda prices are cheaper for a reason.

Beautiful, secluded 'water-palace' ”

private pools, amazing private villas, in the centre of Bali but very quiet, free shuttle to Ubud or Sanur

staff and manaagement could not be better - they were friendly, generous, prompt, thoughtful. the one bedroom villa in which we stayed had polished marble floors, tall thatched roof, a large private pool and huge areas for day and night. we were upgraded to this honeymoon suite after having trouble with the airconditioning of our first unit (which although smaller, was still beautiful and full, like the garden and all areas, with marvellous antique art treasures). the shuttle driver was happy to take us to ubud for dinner and wait till we were ready to come back to the hotel!

It was perfect. I would stay at this place again! The welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch and the staff were very helpful and friendly. A courtesy shuttle bus from the Hotel to Ubud town centre was well organised and allowed us to explore the Ubud village whilst enjoying our stay in the peaceful country surrounds. Service was very perfect. The staff was very friendly and always very keen to help. The design of the resort is also very special. The price is very low considering the overall standard.

We have been very satisfied with our stay. The service is perfect with all staff being very friendly and always willing to assist. The design of the resort is also very special . It really makes you feel like you are in Bali. The price is also very low considering the overall standard. The only downpoint is that the resort is located a bit far from Ubud and Denpasar. We have agreed that we will book the same resort in our next visit to Bali.

Serene and Tranquil beautifully isolated from the hordes.”

From our first moment in being greeted by smiling lovely Ulan and Nyoman in reception the Alum Puri staff made our stay there for 10 days wonderful always courteous ,thoughtful and kind, the driver Nyoman so informative and careful, the Restaurant with Sumadi and Juni and their team of beautiful traditionally dressed waitresses so attentive. The housekeeping staff always leaving our room spotless and serviced at the return from breakfast which was always delicous we eat Indonesian food so had the Nasi Goreng with egg on top, fruit plate coffe, fresh juice all excellent. The grounds are just beautful, clean pool, towels and lounge chairs, it is lovely and quiet the area of Penatih Village has no tourists this place is for those that enjoy tranquillity. We stayed in a 1 bedroom pool villa could have stayed for a month very happily.

Beware - Location NOT UBUD!”

Large room

If you are after a hotel to chill in Ubud and take your time in and around, BEWARE, this is not the one for you. I was travelling, as a solo parent, with my 2 children (11 & 13) who are quite experienced little travellers. This trip was last minute and we decided we’d try something adventurous, using Agoda and other sites to book as we went, staying in a different hotel every night and not eating at the same restaurant twice. While our overall stay at Alam Puri was great, and probably my children's favourite hotel, and while technically, one could argue it is in Ubud, any reasonable assessment would say it was not. Our previous accommodation was in Ubud, a lovely villa organized through another site. They offered free transportation in and around Ubud. When I asked for them to take us to the new accommodation, Alam Puri, they said "That's in Denpasar!" and while a map may put the Alam Puri on the border of Ubud, it took the hotel driver 1.5 hours to pick us up (due to traffic) and then another 40 mins to get from Ubud to the Alam Puri. When I asked about taking us to dinner, the abundant supply of excellent restaurants in Ubud was not suggested, but rather Sanur, a beachside area 20 minutes in the other direction was proposed. While it is fair to argue that the style of Alam Puri is more “Ubud” than “Sanur”, the physical location is more “Sanur” or “Denpasar” than “Ubud” and cost me 3-4 hours of that particular day that could have been used in Ubud. We were subsequently left short of time on our Ubud leg, which was disappointing. The location of the resort was clearly misrepresented. Even the "Museum Opening" plaque from 2004 said it was in Denpasar. When I contacted Agoda (their phone system didn't work satisfactorily in Indonesia), their reply was "According to map, it still in Ubud district - South of Ubud Hence if they put Sanur area instead of Ubud that will be misrepresented however for this they have actually put the correct address". Very nice hotel and quiet place, valuable hotel”

Size of the room, friendly staff, nice musuem

Have free shuttle bus to Ubud Centre. Very quiet and comfortable place to stay. Staff very friendly. Place to have breakfast is very very nice. The owner of the hotel built a museum near the hotel and free to visit. Will surely come back again.
