Love, love, love -- but please bring back the great internet!”
I've always loved this place (when I lived here, I used to come work here al the time), and was lucky on this return trip to get to stay here (thank you, rainy season prices!). However, the internet is sadly not what it used to be (and I did used to use it even in the rainy season). Everything else about the place is wonderful, but if they could just work on their internet speed, the place would be absolutely perfect!
Charming boutique hotel”
I had been to Alamanda Inn once before and wanted to return. Lovely staff who were extremely helpful with check-in and check-out, and the room and grounds themself are a small oasis in the midst of Yangon. Very relaxing and beautiful. Good restaurant as well and quiet area.
I love the place”
This is the third I stayed here. Rooms are excellent. Staff very helpfull. And the restaurant plus terrace are a great asset to choose Alamanda. I will be back
Thank you very much for your comment,Sir. See you soon!
Little pricey but a lovely place to stay. ”
Simple elegant rooms. Great outdoor dining space. Good area in terms of quality of residences but a little way out from the centre. Restaurant menu was predominantly French, so great salads etc but only one Burmese food option. Breakfast was a little light.
Quiet, clean, wonderful experience”
I love the Alamanda Inn. It's quiet and one feels they are returning to their own home at the end of each day. The restaurant is high quality with some of the best salad's in Yangon at very reasonable prices. A variety of fresh juice, wonderful breakfasts. Charm, friendliness, it will always been one of my top choices in Yangon.
Nice hotel, overrated restaurant ”
Good place to stay to be out of downtown Yangon hustle bustle. Not the place to stay if you want to be close to restaurants, etc. they have a restaurant there but it’s overpriced and the food is OK. The superior room we booked was nice, with a big room and mosquito net (there are a lot here for some reason) and older furniture.
Nice serene hotel tucked away ...”
no frills hotel serene, quiet, good for a weekend the water in the barhroom don't flush out so well when taking a bath though ..... staff in the restaurant can be more smiley though The 2 security boys are really nice ...
Cozy atmosphere with lovely decor and a nice garden environment. Great food and friendly staff! The location is great if you're looking for a more quiet calm residential neighborhood and still only a 20min taxi ride from downtown. If you go in rainy season the room downstairs can get a bit damp, so maybe pick an upstairs room.
great value for money & lovely garden but staff not so friendly”
lovely and thoughtfully decorated place, nice garden. not near the main touristy things but I like the location and it's quiet! great breakfast, too! Just too bad that the front desk staff and the staff at the restaurant is not that attentive and lovely (especially according to Myanmar standards). would make the place even lovelier!
Charming hotel with authentic colonial feel in the room. lovely furnishings & spacious room an”
Set in a quiet area of Yangon. Lovely garden around hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and have a nice feel about them. Tasteful decor and furnishings giving it character and warmth. Restaurant very convenient and gives you a break from Asian food. Air conditioning doesn't work very well but otherwise perfect
A really enjoyable stay”
The Alamanda Inn provides a leafy respite from the intensity of central Yangon. The rooms are nicely furnished to resemble a French colonial residence from times past with high ceilings and dark wood furniture. The restaurant is tranquil with many appealing options. Travel to from downtown Yangon was not difficult; taxis seemed to be available most of the time. The Golden Valley neighborhood was interesting with lots of mansions in various stages of repair and disrepair. The guide recommended by the hotel, Aung at 959 250066648, was excellent!
Great little hotel”
I really enjoyed the hotel. I loved the decor, the small green garden and the al fresco restaurant. Not a luxurious hotel but very tastefully decorated and clean. Friendly staff. Note there was no TV in my room: personally I don't care, but if it is important to you, you should take it into consideration. A bit far from downtown but taxis in Yangon are so cheap it does not really matter.
Lovely room ”
The inn is in a quiet area a but outside Yangon centre. Very quiet and peaceful out of hectic city. Staff are kind and very polite. Room is renovated from an old house and very spacious.
This hotel is so beautiful! The room and the garden are both just breathtaking. The location is very convenient as well.
Love this place! ”
My go-to place every time I come to Yangon! Perfect for settling in to work for a few hours while eating delicious food. Also, well-priced rooms with character. This deserves many more stars!
Charming Place for Reflection”
Worst customer service, average hotel”
We booked this hotel in Mandalay because we thought had a "french bistro" kind of atmosphere. The rooms are nice and big however our room was just facing the restaurant snd there was a lot of noise in the late evenings. The food at the restaurant was very good and expensive at the same time. The customer service was very poor; they had only one member if the staff able to speak english and she was never at the reception when we need staff assistance. Average place, pricry
Hard to sleep”
Fruit tree growing over the tin roof constantly dropping fruit every few minutes making a terrible racket. Very disturbed nights. On our return to Yangon we went elsewhere A shame as restaurant was good with lovely staff
Unhelpful even rude staff. Not one in charge.”
We ended a two week stay in Myanmar at the Alamanda. Everywhere else we stayed the people were warm, helpful and welcoming. But not here. Surly wait staff and no one seemed to be in charge. I wouldn't stay here again. Overpriced for what you get, especially considering the poor service.
Nice and romantic”
A bit off the traffic and quiet. Good breakfast and a charming layout inside the big rooms. Loved it for the romance.
