"I do not understand who decides and how they decide whether a place is a two, three or four stars, but in case of Meili Beach Resort, only two stars are wrong, in my opinion. And I believe I can compare as I have stayed during these two weeks in the Philippines (on Bohol and Cebu islands) in about six resorts. Meili is the best mid-range resort I have so far visited on these two islands - and surprisingly the cheapest. Meili is a place that saved my holidays from a heartbreak. ROOM Rooms are fantastic. They are constructed in a smart way, flow of fresh air can constantly circulate and the rooms do not get moldy smell. They are very cosy, they have luxurious feel. They are very comfortable, with lots of natural light. They have everything you need - wardrobes, table, chairs, small tables next to beds, small lamps next to beds. Beautiful curtains in windows. There is a small kitchen with all you need to prepare a meal or tea/coffee. BED Large beautiful wooden bed, soft, comfortable. Soft pillows. You get a sheet to cover yourself, and an extra thicker sheet in case you were cold. Impeccably clean. BATHROOM Big, with lots of light, immaculately clean, glass shower cabin, glass shelves above the sink. A beautiful bathroom. Warm water anytime. LOCATION & THE PLACE The town, Alcoy, is quite nice. Meili is away from the main road, away from any noise, away from the locals. It's a quiet, tranquil place at the sea. For me personally, this was a big plus. It's an away place, but not too far from the village. I arrived with a habal-habal as I only had a small luggage, a few minutes ride from a bus stop and 1-2 euro to the driver. Easy to find. If you do not have your own transport I believe the resort is always willing to help out and arrange a pick up if you ask. At Meili Beach Resort you are sure to breathe fresh air, unlike places next to roads all over Cebu island or in the whole Philippines. There is a bus stop in Alcoy where you can catch a Ceres bus (or"

"Everything and everyone there was so frendly and helpfull so i did not feel myself lonely, as i thought before...i have found everything i needed to - best veiw room to the ocean as asked for while booking, good english speaking stuff, they halped me to get acostomed in Phillippines and in Alcoy, tasty food and coctails in rest. And the most important thing was the atmosphere of home and family there...That helped me not to be sad after the plans of my honey moon trip has ruined. Badoes made me happy even in that situation. i ve stoped there for 3 days first and then prolonged my staying in Badoes resort for some reasons. Best recomendation to the place, conviniences and the stuff.:-)"

"I found the place from Internet blogs and decided to give it a try. I aimed at scuba diving, and finally I did 16 dives (inc. 3 day trips) in two weeks. Local dive guides James + Ramel definitely know their work! Managers Teija + Niko adviced me on Cebu island sights outside Alcoy, and arranged the trips on request. Scuba courses are also available for those who wish to give it a try, so no prior experience in scuba is necessary to visit the place. The activities at the resort culminated daily to a buffet dinner (you won't go to bed hungry!) and the activities of the upcoming days were planned together with other divers/travellers and with management. This is not the cheapest resort on the island, but I consider the costs worth it. Alcoy itself is not renowned for nightlife or tourist attractions, but for those who manage a holiday with fewer tourist traps, the resort is worth checking out. "

"The resort is not your typical resort though it has average amenities that you would not find in your typical resort. It has a full functional kitchen and very spacious. The only down side is that only 1 room had air conditioning which was not indicated in the reservation. The staff was very accommodating who were friendly and provided assistance. There was no beach front we had to drive by to the public beach to enjoy the sand. "
