Exceptional”

This was the third time this year we stayed here and we appreciated the tranquility, elegance and highly comfortable settings of the property. We travel to Rome frequently since many years and have come to like the Parioli/Villa Borghese district for its proximity to all its splendid sights (around 20 min by foot through Borghese Park to the Spanish steps) yet having the quiet feeling of an upscale residential neigbhourhood when seeking for times to relax and unwind. A rarity for Roman hotels, this property maintains a wonderful outdoor pool with lovely gardens and we particularly chose this property for this very reason . Also, the hotel provides is own complimentary bus shuttle into town and tramlines to e.g. the Vatican or Collosseum can be found immediately in front of the hotel. Many good restaurants are in walking distance and the hotel restaurants are splendid to. Most of all, staff is most helpful and accommodating. We will certainly be back.

A fabulous stay in Rome”

The concierge Enzo, the complementary shuttle to and from the Spanish Steps, and the beautiful pool and patio restaurant

The Aldrovandi Borgese hotel has old world charm with all the modern amenities you'd expect at a 5 star hotel. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast buffet was wonderful and Enzo the conceriege was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed talking the hotel's bikes for a ride in Borghese park followed by wine and hors d'oeuvres at the lovely terrace restaurant by the pool. The staff was terrific from the bell boys, to the restaurants, and housekeeping, everyone was professional and attentive to our need. My only complaint is thst our rooms were not ready at 2 although that's the specified check in time and we had arrived at the hotel at 11am. The lady at the front desk offered us a complementary drink for the inconvenience but nerve followed through on the offer. She should have given us a voucher to to redeem at the bar or a small room credit. Also we were a family of 7 and booked three rooms. The hotel requested that we change our room to a higher room catagory for a triple which we did. The same girl at the front desk slipped in a $100 per night charge for an extra bed even though we requested a triple up front when making our reservation and paid $100 more per night for what we are told was a triple room. We loved our 3 days in Rome and our stay at the Aldrovandi however management should address the front desk issues.

Lovely stay by the Villa Borghese”

This was our third time in Rome, but first stay at the Aldrovandi. Given the busy pace of Rome, even outside of high season, it was wonderful to stay in a quieter part of town and the Aldrovandi is truly an oasis. The hotel environment is beautiful, including the lobby, outdoor garden-bar/pool and restaurant. The staff, in particular the concierge Mario, facilitated our stay, including transportation, guided personal tours of the Vatican and meal arrangements. It's very convenient for visits to the Borghese Galleria and the courtesy shuttle makes it easy to get across the park quickly to visit central Rome. We look forward to future visits to Rome facilitated by the Aldrovandi & its staff!

Great hotel outside the hustle and bustle of Rome”

Gardens/pool, service levels, rooms

Excellent stay - it was our anniversary and we were delighted to receive an upgrade to a suite and a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate. We loved relaxing in the gardens by the pool on comfortable sun loungers as a time out from sightseeing from Rome - it is very peaceful and quiet here, perfect for some R&R. It is slightly out of the centre (just a 5 minute/€10 taxi away) in a pretty location by the Villa Borghese gardens which we liked for the peace and quiet but others may prefer a hotel where you walk right out into the middle of bustling Rome. There was a good breakfast, 5 star service from staff throughout the hotel (by the pool, at breakfast etc). The concierges were very helpful in recommending and booking restaurants for us in Rome and also proved very helpful when we left a bag in a taxi one evening - they tracked it down for us and when we returned that evening it was waiting in our room for us (no charge for whatever it may have cost the taxi to return it to the hotel either). Excellent hotel that I would be happy to return to on our next visit to Rome

Breakfast buffet is hard to beat

it was my first time to rome and stayed here based on other reviews. the hotel is good but i would not rate it as one of the best ever. the rooms are large but a bit dated. the bathrooms are clean which is good. but the best feature was the breakfast buffet. the hotel is away from the metro but buses and trams are out the front and the concierge was always very helpful in getting us to where we needed. all in all, a great first visit to rome, in large part thanks to the people at the aldrovandi villa borghese

This is a wonderful property to stay when in Rome. Just outside the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps and at the top of the Aldrovandi park. They have a running shuttle service to the Spanish steps area and just in front of the city tram service. The place is just beautiful and the staff rocks when it comes to attentive service. We will definitely stay here again, this will was my 3rd time to Rome.

Splendid luxury in an ideal location.”

Service, Relaxation, Convenience

My wife and I booked the hotel for a luxury break in Rome close enough to the sights and sounds, but for some relaxation by the pool also. The hotel matched those requirements comfortably. On immediate arrival everything was perfect. The pool area is ideal for relaxing (down to the staff having a discrete word with any children who were being too noisy). The courtesy bus to the top of the Spanish Steps was a great convenience meaning that the slight distance away from town was not a problem. Every encounter with the staff at the hotel was impeccably managed. One noteworthy point was when the spa had double-booked and my wife could not have her treatment. We were intending to raise a discrete complaint about this but before we got the chance we returned to our room to find a complimentary bottle of prosecco waiting along with a note of apology for the earlier problem. This was a very nice touch typical of the high levels of care from the staff. The food options at lunch time could be a little broader, the spa has room to improve, but overall you pay for and hope for a fine and luxurious hotel stay, and that's precisely what you get.

Wonderful Hotel”

Our family had a wonderful stay here. The pool area is beautiful and was a necessary daily break from the heatwave in Rome during our visit. The spa was lovely too. Definitely get the daily breakfast buffet included in your stay. It was fantastic and included made to order eggs. The service was among the best I have encountered at any hotel. Free bottled water both in the rooms and at the front door. Daily treats sent to our rooms including a full birthday cake with candle/matches for my husband (I never mentioned or requested anything for him). Candy bar for kids. Only cons are the distance to main attractions. There is a free shuttle to and from the Spanish Steps. We often chose to just take a taxi to our final destination because it was very hot during our visit. However we knew this would likely be the case when we chose the hotel. The food from the hotel restaurants is very good, but quite expensive. Finally the WiFi signal was often weak and difficult to use.

Great Romantic hotel”

ambience, hotel condition, staff

We were on a honeymoon. The location was little bit outside of the center of the city, but taxi and trams were very near from the hotel. The hotel was extremely gorgeous - old, vintageous, but luxurious. Room was also clean and cozy. I would definitely stay at this hotel when I visit Rome again.

Fabulous staff and lovely grand hotel ”

The hotel itself is Lovely . It has great facilities and an old world grandeur. The staff are excellent and very well trained. It is a bit out of the way from the city centre which is its only real negative but the hotel runs a shuttle service to the centre every hour, and the drop off point is only a few minutes walk to the Spanish Steps and Spagna metro station.

Staff very professional and helpful. After a day of exploring Rome, so nice to come back to a refreshing swim in the pool. Breakfast very delicious, fresh and a great start to a day. Wonderful Hotel with pool”

staff, swimming pool, luxury

To be honest we are a little bit sceptical about 'Leading hotels of the World'. However this hotel has pleasantly surprised us. Their main advantage is having a pool which which very rare for Rome. During the summer it gives you the opportunity to relax and spend some time by the pool which helps to avoid exhausting all days walks and sightseeings. Great hallway with fresh flowers and candles, friendly staff, shuttle that takes you every 30minutes to Spanish steps, all of these factors make the hotel very special and comfortable. We will definately be back.

One of my favourite hotels ever. Impeccable service, great rooms and lovely food. It was my 40th birthday and they kindly upgraded us and left a cake and wine in the room. They truly could not do enough. Breakfast is excellent and the location a short walk out of the main city or a shuttle bus ride if you don't like to walk. Rooms are lovely and large - really stylish. The swimming pool is spectacular and the staff is top level.

Very pleasant and comfortable, although the rooms should be updated and breakfast is mediocre for a five star hotel. Said that prices are reasonable vs other 5 stars in Rome and the location is easy to reach/ very quiet. Good free shuttle service to/from Piazza Di Spagna: very handy!
