Got a question for Alila Manggis Hotel?

About this property

Situated on Bali’s secluded east coast, this modern resort makes up for its lack of beachfront by offering guests other options. For example, there are free daily yoga classes for all skill levels. A cooking school which specializes in East Balinese cuisine is also available. And for those who want to get wet, excursions to the area’s famed diving sites can be easily arranged. What the Alila Manggis Hotel really offers though is a chance to get away from it all in a stunning natural environment, and for many travelers, it will be just what they had in mind. This 4-star property is simply brilliant.

Great quiet resort
Love the quiet and well maintained Alila Manggis. Great food, although must say a bit pricey. Overall great experience...

Beautiful Hotel, Great Quiet Location with Friendly Staff
Just 1.5 hrs away from DPS Airport, Alila Manngis is situated in the Karangasem Regency, away from the busy bustling city. I was there this time for a friends wedding, and I was absolutely amazed at how beautiful the resort was. The Seasalt restaurant is an absolute must go; one of the best balinese cuisine experiences ever with an amazing view. Staff is extremely friendly, and you can always expect a friendly staff to be smiling at you and attentive to your needs. If looking to just relax and find a nice quiet get away, Alila Manngis is definitely for you! Seasalt Recommendations: Bebek Duck (1 day prior reservation needed) Chefs Breakfast (3 different menus, balinese cuisine) Chicken Curry Steak and Eggs - BBQ steak.

baffled by reviews!
the staff were lovely but this is expected when they are charging I such high prices! the 3 dishes I choose for dinner were tasty but again ridiculous price whe
my room was reasonably spacious in a contemporary style not actually Balinese in any way. it might have been a nice touch if they provided a night shirt or something special! there was very little atmosphere just the buildings of villas around the pool with a sea view. I imagine the other properties have more lush greenery & perhaps gardens. I was very disappointed to be honest as a regular traveller in SE Asia.

Good boutique hotel for couples!
Excellent pool, very good hotel atmosphere, nice location of the restaurant
My wife and me were looking for a hotel stay without our kids for 4 nights.Everybody who decide to stay there should not complain too much about the location, but rather be aware about the distance to downtown. It is obvious that you are not getting a blue and white sand beach. The beach is not ready for swimming, moreover the view to the ocean is partly blocked by some oil tankers and big transport ships. However, still romantic enough to enjoy the sunset. The Alila Manggis Hotel is the oldest among all. We had a standard-room with the view to the pool. The hotel and the room were very clean and the stuff made every day strong effort to keep it in that way. However, the facility is old and some rooms might need refurbishing or fully new replacement parts. The breakfast was overall good, but the dinner buffet was somehow only average standard. It is fair to give a 4-star rating.

One of our favorite hotels in Bali!
The staff, the location in East Bali, the timelessness of the hotel
We love the Alila Manggis and have stayed there 4 times, even before it became an Alila hotel and was called The Serai. The staff are wonderful, particularly Dewi and Yustin who couldn't do enough to make our stay special. The hotel is beautifully designed and has one of the loveliest hotel pools we have ever seen. The rooms are great although they are now in need of a bit of a makeover as they haven't changed at all in 20 years. The restaurant is as good as ever and the food is always delicious and beautifully presented. The Alila Manggis is a great location for exploring East Bali and is perfect for people wanting peace and quiet but it is not an appropriate hotel for people with young kids as there are is nothing really for kids to do. The hotel has plans for expansion I believe and the inclusion of a small gym would be very welcome. All in all a wonderful stay again at the Alila Manggis- can't wait till our next visit!
