Beautiful Oasis with Wonderful Service ”

Excellent service, beautiful setting among Arung River, forest with monkeys, wonderful edgeless pool

My husband and I was traveling to Bali for friend's wedding as well as babymoon. We really had a memorable stay at Alila Ubud Hotel. We were by very friendly staff with special refreshing welcome drinks as we first checked in. The hotel is located in an amazing natural setting with forest filled with monkey families and view of the Arung River. We were very impressed with the design of the rooms and feel the privacy for relaxation and appreciate the use of Bali traditional style motifs for the interiors. We enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea served as we enjoy the wonderful view. The food at the restaurant was also amazingly delicious with great variety of Indonesian local cuisine and foreign cuisine. The outdoor swimming pool was such a jem to enjoy and relax in and we also got a chance to try the spa there. The spa was pretty good with great products used. We also took advantage of the complimentary shuttle to Ubud Center for exploration which was convenient. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel for those who visit Ubud.

Wonderful experience, the staff there made everything perfect.”

First time in Ubud, but not the first in Bali, and let me say that the staff at Alila made the experience extremely perfect. Everyone was very patient and helpful, always had a smile on their face and was always cheerful towards us. we were so grateful for specifically, Widi, who served us every morning at breakfast - shared with us her positivity on life and wonderful outlook in life. The manager, who took care of us on the last day providing us with a shower room and full use of everything despite our check out. Honestly, there were so many other staff i want to praise but i am bad with names. But Alila, whatever training you are providing for your staff, it is great and keep it up, they really made our experience an unforgettable one. We will definitely be back. Breakfast was delicious every morning with different choices everyday, the free yoga and tai chi sessions were very awaking and the smell of morning dew was amazing. We booked a private dinner for my birthday, at the Sculpture Garden, highly recommended, the food was 10/10, specially requested and prepared by the chef and the set up for the place was beautiful. They even came out and sang a birthday song for me, i was so touched and grateful for their hospitality. Thank you Alila Ubud!!! I sing nothing but praise of this place. (:

Absolutely lovely hotel and the best food!”

Lovely locale, Excellent restaurant, breath taking valley view

Excellent to say the least! We had a valley villa that overlooked the valley and had some amazing view! The infinity pool is gorgeous and we felt really close to nature! We were very pleasantly surprised by the food. To us it was very important since we were vegetarians (no egg as well) and we found the best food in Bali in Alila. A very warm chef who delighted us with Bali traditional vegetarian dishes. We liked the food so much that we signed up for a cooking class with him and that was an awesome experience starting from a market visit to entire cooking. Only downside was the hotel is a little far from Ubud (7 Kms) and the hotel commute is a little expensive. Free shuttles are there but do not run till the Ubud market. Private vehicles are easily available hence no major problems. Another bigger issue to note is that the hotel is amidst a forest, so we had many monkeys on the verandah and outside the rooms. Toads are so common as well. Though they are absolutely harmless it took us a couple of days to get used to them.

Great Property”

Location, Property and Breakfast

An amazing property, in a location that will make you forget day to day live almost instantly. We stayed on a deluxe room. To be honest was expecting better of five star hotel, but the room as nice, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was also nice and the outdoor shower good. The view from the room is good not awesome. No lounge chairs on the small patio. The pool, the view from restaurant, the breakfast and the property all together they are awesome! The breakfast is one of best I have ever and served in the restaurant with am awesome view is the highlight of the Alila Ubud. Transfer to Ubud is limited to 10 and 11 am and 3PM and 4PM. Transfer from Ubud is at 10h30, 11h30 am and 3h30pm and 4h30 pm. So no good if you want to stay for dinner in Ubud. You would have to come back by Taxi.

Valley villa heaven”

Alila Ubud is arguably one of the top value for money deals across Asia - and I've been to them all. The staff is absolutely lovely - family spirit, great to chat with all of them and hear their life stories. Best of Bali, really. The Javanese chef is a master. Get a valley villa, preferably number 303, right in the middle of the forest, and don't leave - except for a quick jaunt to the countryside by motorbike, or to the temple on the other side of the Ayung river. THE perfect getaway for a couple.

The food is devine......”

food, peace, service, view,pool

Friend and I stayed for 2 nights in the heaven that is Alila Ubud. The food was the best I have ever eaten in any restaurant in Australia and was in a reasonably remote location close to Ubud. Hotel best suits romantic getaways or those wanting total relaxation. Ubud is a short shuttle bus trip away. Wasnt thrilled with the quality of the spa experience and would rather have spent less money in spa service within Ubud township. But the food we are still raving about. Alila is a small resort with an intimate feel where staff knew you personally and catered to your every whim.

Very good stay”

The hotel has wonderful views over the forest and river valley, which makes you rest your eyes day and night. Good attention from personnel, wonderful culinary and spa classes. Good choice of local food at restaurant (breakfast in particular).
They could offer more alternative for shutle bus to/from town, espacially in the afternoon and evening. Also some more bikes would be useful to avoid waiting for returnig from other guests.

Alila Ubud offer a wonderful landscape togheter with a contemporary and clean architecture, taking benefit from the beautiful nature in the river valley and monkey forest. You really donnt need to go to Monkey Forest in Ubud center, as you can come across beautiful families of macaques at you Tai Chi chuan class or at you time relaxing at the pool (and dont miss you camera). Service is very good for the hotel category and you can find the usual amenities in you room, at the library (good choice of books on local arts and arquitecture and Balinese gardens...). Restaurant is ok, but much better is a culinary class with the experienced chef and then the spa class wiht the fresh and local material prepared by yourself. Very relaxing. Very good experience.

Paradise in the mountains”

1) View from hotel and bedrooms. 2) Relaxing atmosphere in hotel and Pool. 3) Easy access to local activities

My wife and I stayed in the Alila for 2 nights after spending 2 nights in Seminyak. It was our first time in Ubud so did not know what to expect. When we arrived at the Alila we were absolutely blown away by the amazing view of the surrounding valley and mountains. The hotel is amazing with one of the best pools of any hotel I have ever stayed in, the staff are very friendly, breakfast while not a buffet is gorgeous and you can order as much as you want, the bedrooms (we had a deluxe with outdoor shower) were stunning and very comfortable and finally the spa was reasonable and very enjoyable. I would 100% recommend the Alila to anyone and will almost certainly be returning again.

Tranquil jungle setting”

Alila is an amazing property located in the country side outside of ubud. The rooms and pool overlook the jungle valley and is completely surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, so relaxing. There are local monkeys that visit every morning and afternoon to provide entertainment and a range of other wildlife such as birds and squirrels. The hotel staff are very accommodating and friendly. The spa is amazing and i highly recommend the ultimate spa package which includes 48 hours of unlimited treatments. The cost of rooms is expensive, as are some of the restaurant/drink prices - but the all you can eat breakfast menu was a highlight for us, as was the complimentary afternoon tea.

Amazing views and a beautiful pool. ”

This hotel has the most spectacular backdrop. The views from your room are awesome and then views from the dining area and the pool are just as good. Looking down through a tropical valley

Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay in alila ubud, and would recommend to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the more busy villages and towns. We loved it. The breakfast is amazing, it was included in out package. You could pick many options of a menu and try everything. The food quality was great. The pool is an fantastic place to chill out and relax, and the staff will take any food or drink requests from you as you just soak up the views and the sun. When we first arrived we were greeted by the general manager of the hotel, who is Australian. He was a great source of knowledge and so friendly. He explained the ins and outs of the hotel for us and was more than happy to stay and have a chat with us, which was great.

Fab stay!”

Beautiful, scenic location
The last shuttle bus back to the hotel from town is 4pm. It'll be great if there is one more shuttle later in the evening say 8pm.

If you're looking to get away for a quiet holiday, Alila Ubud is the place! My husband and I spent 4 days at the resort. The view from our room was fabulous overseeing the fields of greens. The hotel located near padi field offers walking trails and lots of photo opportunities. If you're lazy, you can laze by the pool. We also liked the fact that we start our day with sumptutous breakfasts and not the buffet type provided by most hotels.

ALILA UBUD- Good Value for Money!”

Quiet, amazing pool! amazing view from the pool! high quality breakfast, great staff!!!!
Limited number of entertainment possibilities inside the hotel, a bit far from Ubud and the hotel transportation (when the shuttle service is off) is too expensive- recommended to take details from taxi drivers in Ubud for this purpose. Should cost up to 40,000 rupees per way (the hotel takes 70,000).

Alila Ubud is located on a hill with magnificent view all around! It's a wonderful place for couples, even with children. We got there with a 10 month old baby and got all we needed for him- a very comfortable cot and even shampoo and baby soap! The room is very nice and has a big comfortable bed. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool and kindness of the staff. We felt like royalty! The shuttle service to Ubud is very good but when you want to go there at night you should do it with a local driver. All in all we had an amazing time there and we'll definitely go back if we get a chance.

Clean. Modern. Chic.

Overall, my stay in alila ubud was very satisfying. Everything was clean and chic. I can finally relax in this hotel, although the pool inside of villa needs a bit of cleaning up. Infinity pool at hotel is awesome. The view is breathtaking. Attentive staffs. Many free activities are being offered. The free sunset cocktail party is great. Good breakfast menu. Welcoming drink tastes good. Spa was amazing. Shower gel, shampoo and soap are of high quality. Very comfortable towels and bathrobe. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Allow late check-out at 2pm. The place to be if you want a peace of mind.

boring paradise that is not located in ubud”

views, rooms, staff

well this is one of the most beautifull hotel that i've ever visited. beautifull surroundigs, stuning views and nice infinity pool. food is excellent, you have monkeys on estate. but is not a hotel for everyone and not for me. beside laying beside pool, spa and 1 hour drive on bikes arond hotel, there is nothing to do. i was sooo bored. another problem is that in bali sunset is around 6.30 and this hotel is not providing any entartainment. you don't even have tv in your room! so you should go to ubud but there is also no life after 7-8 pm. so one evening my wife and i decided to go to dinner at alila. food was great but prices are 4-5 times higher that usually in bali and even there we were so bored. you can barely hear the music and the lightning is so grim! you even get one battery to walk on estate. the hole concept is so stupid. we were there 3 nights - 2 nights to much. yeah and, hotel ic located in payangan not ubud which is 30 min drive away. but if you like this quiet, lazy and boooring concept this might be hotel for you.

Secluded place in Ubud”

Overlooking a beautiful valley among rice fields, Alila is a very nice resort. Although a bit old (rooms somehow would need a renovation), the resort is very cozy, with some character and certainly extremely relaxing and quiet. To reach Ubud town, Alila is providing a shuttle service (not too many per day, however). Otherwise taxi is easy to find, for approx 120-150 K rupiah. The restaurant is quite good, although on the expensive side. Breakfast is excellent and abundant. All in all, we spent 3 days in a superior room, forest view and we had an excellent stay.

Dear Luca, Thank you for your lovely review on our facilities and services. We are glad you had a great time at the resort in the tranquil surroundings and quietness. We do provide shuttle three times a day and we will re-look into the frequency as well. Thanks for your acknowledgement on the food as well including the varied breakfast options. We look forward to getting an opportunity to welcome you back home soon. Warm Regards Hemal Jain General Manager

Dirty room however got free upgrade”

It was my first time to Ubud Alila resort celebrating my GF's Birthday. I booked a forest resort, when we walked into the room, my gf noticed a super big spider web hanging from the ceiling to table lamp. how long was the room left emptied? and when was it last cleaned? The GM of the resort came to inspect the room and instantly upgraded us to another forest resort but it was so near to the swimming pool and it is so noisy. Upon our feedback, the GM transferred us to a suite which was much quieter and clean. Apart from the unpleasant experience when we stepped into the first room, everything in this resort is good and perfect experience for us. Will return again. Thanks for all the good services!!

Great resort for honeymooners or retreat”

Located far away from crowd area, surrounding by rice field, Alila Ubud is really a nice place to find your inner peace, or to have a romantic moment with your loved one. it's a beautiful resort that brings you close to nature. you can ride a bike or just walk around the rice field, or simply enjoying your time in the infinity pool. the breakfast was great! different menu everyday, all were fresh and tasty..

Chic hotel with great view”

Beautiful swimming pool and great food

We like Alila from the entrance. Passing by the rice field, Alila enjoys a great view of Ubud. The welcome lobby cools us down. We spent some time to finish the check-in because there were many customers awaiting to check in. The room is small/ old but very functional. I like the pool very much, one of the best pool in Ubud. What impressed us most are the food. We had amazing breakfast and lunch in Alila. I love the French Toast most. The hotel is very convenient to access to Ubud center.
