Alila Ubud is located near the artistic and cultural center of Ubud on the edge of the Ayung River. The resort has been designed in traditional Balinese architecture and has secluded courtyards, spacious terraces, and private gardens that combine to create a feeling of intimacy. The 56 rooms are housed in 14 two-story blocks designed to resemble a Balinese village. All rooms have panoramic views of the Ayung River and surrounding volcanoes. Guests can visit various art galleries, museums, and temple festivals to experience the real Bali. Facilities for recreation include an outdoor pool, spa, and water sports. Whatever the reason for your stay, Alila Ubud will make it a good one.

Tranquil jungle setting”
Alila is an amazing property located in the country side outside of ubud. The rooms and pool overlook the jungle valley and is completely surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, so relaxing. There are local monkeys that visit every morning and afternoon to provide entertainment and a range of other wildlife such as birds and squirrels. The hotel staff are very accommodating and friendly. The spa is amazing and i highly recommend the ultimate spa package which includes 48 hours of unlimited treatments. The cost of rooms is expensive, as are some of the restaurant/drink prices - but the all you can eat breakfast menu was a highlight for us, as was the complimentary afternoon tea.
Real 5 Stars Hotel! ”
My girlfriend and I was still dreaming of this property even we had left. Location was up the hill and so tranquil. Breakfast was exceptional, staffs were super friendly with sincere smiles, and dinner at plantation restaurant, amazing. Dont miss the complimentary afternoon tea by the pool, they serve herbal tea, and traditional indonesian small bites.
Dear Syahrial, Thank you for Making our Day with this lovely feedback. We are so glad you had a great time and enjoyed every bit of the experience. We cant wait to welcome you back home soon. Warm Regards Hemal Jain General Manager
Pros: This is, hands down, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Bali. I loved the room & the view from my balcony. And they served the best breakfast I have had at any Bali hotel. The pool is beautiful, if not breathtaking. And the afternoon tea is great & the shuttle into town is a life-saver. One of the staff (she is half-Singaporean, half-Italian) is incredibly charming & the cutest ever. I have a huge crush on her & wish I could tell her in person. At any rate, promote her & give her a raise. Cons: Painfully slow WiFi & overpriced dinner buffet. But my biggest complaint is in regards to my bathroom experience. Towards the end of my shower, I completely lost hot water. It’s like it completely ran out of hot water for no apparent reason. I was pretty disappointed that a hotel of this caliber couldn’t provide hot water for the entire duration of a guest’s shower. I stayed at 3 other hotels in Ubud—Alam Sembuwuk, Gita Maha, & Citrus Tree Villas—& NONE of their showers ran out.
Dirty room however got free upgrade”
It was my first time to Ubud Alila resort celebrating my GF's Birthday. I booked a forest resort, when we walked into the room, my gf noticed a super big spider web hanging from the ceiling to table lamp. how long was the room left emptied? and when was it last cleaned? The GM of the resort came to inspect the room and instantly upgraded us to another forest resort but it was so near to the swimming pool and it is so noisy. Upon our feedback, the GM transferred us to a suite which was much quieter and clean. Apart from the unpleasant experience when we stepped into the first room, everything in this resort is good and perfect experience for us. Will return again. Thanks for all the good services!!
The view is amazing!”
The view from my room (Valley Villa) is amazing, unfortunately i can not get the pick up service from Alila Manggis to Alila Ubud. It would be nice if Alila can manage the transfer thing between each of its hotel.
She was pleased”
I've heard lots about this place and i was finally able to experience it during low season at a really good rate. Originally was a 3 nigh stay turned into 4 nights simply because it's one of those places you don't want to leave. I book the hanging suite over looking the jungle and it was probably my favorite hotel room i've ever booked. The staff like most places in Bali are exceptional. Breakfast menu changes daily just so slightly and it's absolutely amazing.
breakfast with monkeys”
I've been quite ready for the villa and was greatly satisfied by but, never thought about the gorgeous walk route looking down the valley, my daily path to the public area. Really loved the pool and the restaurant sticking in the monkey forest. The people there was very nice and kind. Nothing more to ask for my first stay in Ubud.
Valley villa heaven”
Alila Ubud is arguably one of the top value for money deals across Asia - and I've been to them all. The staff is absolutely lovely - family spirit, great to chat with all of them and hear their life stories. Best of Bali, really. The Javanese chef is a master. Get a valley villa, preferably number 303, right in the middle of the forest, and don't leave - except for a quick jaunt to the countryside by motorbike, or to the temple on the other side of the Ayung river. THE perfect getaway for a couple.
It was a short trip for my mum's birthday. should have spend more time in the resort as compared to the price I have paid. Hospitality is great. We have the authentic tasting menu at the plantation restaurant are too sweet to our asian taste bud, weren't enjoy it much.
quiet and nice place for honeymooners. ”
We came to this hotel for our honeymoon. We absolutely love the area, very calming, very greenery and quiet. The breakfast menu was very good, every morning we were really looking forward to it because they changed the menu daily and all were very tasty. The room was okay, we actually expected a bit more on that based on the price, but they cleaned it twice daily and we were quiet pleased on that.
Beautiful hotel, grounds and staff with Western prices ”
For a luxury hotel, we expected the food/drink prices to be higher, and we were happy to pay more given the location and beauty of the hotel. Pool is obviously amazing, rooms good with fab views and food delicious. We would have loved to spend longer than 2 nights!
Great place to relaxing ”
Omg I really enjoyed my stayed at Alila ubud. Room quite big, bath room quite nice we only had small problem with water in the bath room. I really liked their swimming pool it was super great. breakfast place and menus were variable and it was really good. Definelty great place for holiday especially honey moon because the environment is super nice and quite
We got married at Alila last year and returned for our anniversary. This is still the most stunning, serene and picturesque hotel. I love the architecture and infinity pool, especially the monkey antics at afternoon tea. You cannot help but feel at peace here.
Simply restful !!!!!!”
The hotel is great as it is situated in a remote and calm surrounding. It is also not too far from the town center, where there are many things to do. Great swimming pool on a hill slop over looking a jungle. The spa is so relaxing, however it lacks a steam room and a gym. Overall a great hotel to unwind after a wild week by the beach in Seminyak.
Excellent hospitality standards”
Alila advertise sustainable and responsible tourism, and at this resort I truly can feel it. Others claim the same but do not walk the walk. The resort is at a really awesome location, with endless green jungle to relax and quiet the mind. Gentle cool breezes offer a wonderful respite from the heat at the lower altitude levels. I turned off the air con and slept with the doors and window open, and even then it was cold. The spa was awesome, their balinese massage is to be recommended. The restaurant offer really good food, made from organic vegetables from their garden. It tastes so fresh like it was just plucked for my meals. Overall an awesome stay, no matter which Alila you go to.
Amazing location overlooking jungle and river”
Stunning location in jungle just 10min outside Ubud town....in Sayan river valley...great introduction to the pleasure of Ubud...foest, rivers, rice fields, and more Only negatives are the hotelis alittled dated (but still good) and no TVs in the room (which can be a bit boring in the dark forest nights)
A wonderful hotel and friendly staff”
It was a beautiful hotel. The hotel is small compared to its competitors and definitely not as convenient as some of the other places so will need a car to travel around but it does have its won attraction. The hotel grounds is very peaceful and quiet and perfect if you just want to relax. The food is great and the service is fantastic.
Relaxing, enjoying and very comfortable”
My stayed in Alila Ubud hotel was amazing. Very statisfied with the hotel exterior or interior, friendly staff, good food, exclusive food quality. Love the surrounding of the hotel and made my trip was very relaxing also feel very fresh.
We were upgraded to the Valley View rooms with unobstructed views over the Ayung River Valley. Amazing the wildlife surrounding. In 2 days we are joined by monkeys, fireflies, Draco flying lizard and a friendly snake. Tempted to go back just for the cocktails.
Just what I needed, relaxing & great surroundings”
for us this was a splurge, as we dont usually spend this amount, but I wanted to go in the pool and have some luxury. This was luxury, and the pool met my expectations. The staff at breakfast and around were delightful and the breakfast was more than you could ask for, well presented up market food. We hired a car for this period so we were able to get to alternative restaurants and places easily.
