It was the people who made this hotel special. We had very interesting chats with the manager who gave us excellent tips on what to see and where to go. We also learnt a lot about Myanmar. Food was served in the rooftop restaurant and was excellent - try the eggplant speciality. There is restricted electricity supply in Chaungtha but we were able to have hot showers after a day on the beach thanks to the hotel's solar heating system. No internet while we were there but the hotel does have it. We thoroughly enjoyed our last 2 days in Myanmar, thanks to this hotel.

Very welcoming staff in a brand new hotel (2013)”
We're a french couple in their 30's. We stayed at alliance resort by chance booking through Agoda since all the ones in the Routard and Lonely Planet guidebooks were fully booked for Xmas. It's slightly more expensive than others but the stay was very good. The staff and boss were very welcoming with good english spoken. The hotel was newly built and the rooms were quiet and very clean. Buffet was very good. The only negative point was the absence of hot water but all in all we had a very good stay.

other reviews are correct the whole area is under heavy construction but the whole country is like that there is no electric or hot water at certain times but what makes this hotel different is the staff they all go out of there way to make your stay as good as possible i have to make a special comment about the manager who went above and beyond his duties for us the first morning there he could see we did not like the breakfast so asked us what we eat for breakfast i told him omelette and toast he made sure we had that every morning the beach there is not that great so the manager told us where to find some beautiful beaches 20 mins away also recommeneded a day trip which was amazing through little fishing villages if i went back to this area i would only stay at this hotel they are all a credit to the hotel and i cant thank them enough

Good destination in Chaungtha Beach area”
Agoda had arranged for complimentary dinners for our stay, even though we were not aware of that when we booked. We were not expecting high quality food but we're very pleasantly surprised. The food was really excellent and dining staff very attentive and friendly. We really looked forward to our meals on the roof terrace. Hotel is actually not a resort hotel in the true sense although of course it it in a resort area. However, we were able to use the beachside hotels to chill out on sun beds, under shade if we bought a drink or two. English is not spoken very much in the whole resort, so expect to spend time explaining what you want. Would recommend this hotel.

Manager is amazing!”
The manager of this hotel made my trip amazing. He set up a motorbike for me to do to Ngwesaung for a fare price, booked my bus ticket back to Yangon (at cheaper than I could find!) and was very accommodating for references for meals etc... For me it was a bit expensive but compared to every other hotel it was cheap and I'm used to dorms so it was nice to have my own room. The shower was hot and room was nice. No great view but close to the beach. I'd definitely stay again!

I had a comfortable stay at alliance hotel! I think the step in door rate is a bit cheaper then booking by agoda. Renting a bicycle or scooter is an good option to see the nicer beaches in the Nord of Chaun tha! Hotel prices in Myanmar has 2-3 doubled in the last 3 years. So, anyway hotel price is too expensive for what you get in Myanmar, compared to other south east asia countries. Anyway, friendly staff and helpful. General condition of hotel is average! By the way no safety box in the rooms. In addition, I had a nice stay and was satisfied!

3 mins from beach, 1 block away from main road. decorated with nice illumination. All meals are delicious and waitors and waitress are very nice & kind. The master of the hotel can speak good English and help you alot in any ways. All staffs are well-educated and kind.

A 500 Baht Hotel in Thailand...”
The service at ARH was excellent...very caring and thoughtful. However, this being Myanmar, this is actually the standard in most hotels here. This is where they shine. I can see a tourist industry really taking off in this country. The food as well was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed the dinner and the breakfast here. That said, I've stayed in many a hotel and this hotel was extremely expensive for what you get: A dinky room with little space, 12 hours of no electricity (6 am to 6 pm), no Internet access except on the roof, thin walls, not much privacy, and the beach is across the road--which wasn't a problem actually. The beach was pretty disappointing though. There are definitely better places here. This would be a typical 500 to 700 Baht hotel room in Thailand. And I had the A room.

Very Nice staff, but helplessly under resourced”
I would not be able to recommend this hotel to an English speaking tourist, because it is so, so hard to make yourself understood to the staff here, who are super nice and friendly but unable to communicate effectively. I don't feel this hotel offers value for money, because compared with other venues in the locality the facilities were not up to scratch. The wifi is horrendously poor, and there is no power all day until after 6 pm, which is not the same for everywhere in the area. Not a major problem if you are out all day, except if you want to charge any electrical items then you can't.The restaurant is severely limited in options, since every time I asked for something besides what was automatically brought out I was told it was not available and again, the staff were unable to explain why. This was very frustrating, for both sides I think. In spite of how hard they tried, and they were trying their best to be helpful, I honestly wish I'd stayed elsewhere. The stretch of beach that is nearest this hotel is not very nice - as in it is big and flat but very busy and not appealing. There is a much nicer, quieter beach about 15 mins cycle away where the sand is superior and cleaner.

New and clean hotel close to beach”
The new hotel looks kinda silly, with bright candy-like colors from the outside, but inside it is light and clean for a fair prize. We were surprised to get a free welcome dinner upon arrival (after a long and dusty ride): with fresh fish and veggies, really delicious. The negative points: hot water should be requested from the reception and the internet speed was bad (normal for Myanmar).

I happened to have a health problem upon my arrival at the hotel (food-borne intestinal problem). I spent the first day in bed and after notifying the front desk about my problem, the staff immediately gave me some medicine which was extremely effective. This meant that I could enjoy the rest of my stay. The manager spoke excellent English and I learned a lot about his country and customs.

You needed to let guess to be aware of the conditions of the usages to the electricity we couldn't have it for 24hrs which means we had to purchased between 6am to 6pm in the hottest part of the day Air conditions were well appreciated by our guests
