On the last day of our stay, we were told there’s no water and they don’t have enough supplies. There’s just lack of planning from the management knowing it was the holy week. The room we got also kept losing electricity and had to keep calling the staff to fix it. Staff are accommodating and friendly, but hard to locate if we need assistance. Bar could definitely use some refurbishing of supplies.
LOCATION IS SATISFACTORY!”
Booked this place for our 5th wedding Anniversary. I considered the location because I wanted to stay in Alona Beach. The resort is right in front of the beach and we were thankful that our room is in beachfront. Everything is okay except with these things: - that the water supply in our bathroom is sometimes low and there's no hot water. -There is no telephone in our room so whenever we need something we need to look for some staff outside to assist us. - there are also a lot of mosquitoes everywhere, good thing I brought insect repellent. - the swimming pool is sometimes full of leaves, it is understandable because the pool area is surrounded by trees, however my daughter doesn't like to swim because of that. The restaurant's foods by the way are very cheap and delicious and serving is good for 1-2 persons. We personally loved their banana split and mango split. :) We will definitely go back here!
Not recommended at all”
Aircon is very noisy it’s hard to get decent sleep. Plus the cleaners are sweeping the grounds at wee hours like 5 or 6 am, and they talk to each other loudly too. No concierge during the night so when you need something you have to wait in the morning. They don’t give you towels unless you ask for them.
Not really a 'resort'”
It's a great location at the end of the beach, so easy to get to everything ....that's about all it has going for it. The pool is freezing because it's used for people learning to dive so very deep--the only way I would get in is with a wetsuit! The resort is kept nice, but the rooms are kind of gross. We had a suite with living room, but the furniture was all wood and old, so not comfortable at all. There were tons of mosquitos in our room, no nets. While it had toiletries, they were those cheap plastic one-use things, so not environmentally friendly at all! I would not recommend staying here.
The resort is located at the end of a bay, beach close to your room. The room was nice spacious and clean and had a little veranda where you could sit and have a drink. We had a very pleasant stay. For exploring the environment renting a bike or scooter is recommendable, we had ours at 'Island Rentals' and were very satisfied with service, quality , price and contact.
Relaxing and easy vacation”
Having stayed in this resort 4 years previously I was looking for a few significant improvements. The walkways up and down from reception have been paved and make that journey much easier. The location is beachfront and so sand and mud are always a present. The resort is a good walk from the main cafes and shops. Lighting in the rooms is much improved and the room facilities are basically good. The staff is fantastic and always extremely helpful and friendly. The air conditioner in the room was effective but quite noisy - in-wall style. Sidetables next to the bed would be a great improvement as storage and table space is extremely limited - although all the rooms have a private verandah and hanging bar for wet clothes. TV works but not great reception - but there's always the amazing beach... Two main issues: Hot water pressure was almost non-existent and it took at least 10 minutes to get warm water. No wifi except in reception and the restaurant - really!
Location is okay but overall poorly maintained ”
No hot water during stay apparently solar hart not working, very poor water pressure aircon barely worked, was very loud lots of mosquitos in the room due to large gaps around door and aircon, needed regular spraying and use of repellent. Staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful constantly chasing clean towels .
The resort did renovations this past year and I guess decided to double their prices since last year, but the renos were not enough to warrant a 100% increase. We had issues with the water every day, as in, we were without water (toilet/sinks/shower) for large parts of the day, every day. The beds are hard. The "poolside suite" while in a nice location, was not worth $200 a night... Not even close. I regret not booking at Henann or a similar resort. I stayed here last year and loved it because it was a good price and a great location, but they really took a lot of enjoyment out of it by being greedy.
A place on the beach, simple beautiful!”
This place is located at the end of the beach coast and so it provides utmost calm and serenity. You can hear beach waves al throughout the day and night and the water of this beach is lovely. They don't provide room service (phone, etc.) and their air-con took some time to cool the room, but they did ensure they cleaned up the room the next morning. The only drawback of this place is that sometimes during peak season, there could be an event hosted nearby on the beach and this hinders the lovely beach experience. Otherwise, its an amazing place to stay.
Pros: -great location -convenient pickup transfers -friendly, hospitable staff -clean rooms -good beachfront -nice pool area Cons: -will have to ask for a towels from the staff (not included upon checking in) -no wifi inside the rooms
Very expensive resort but only the location worth ”
The only good thing about the resort are the location close to Hennan resort Small TV, a lot of mosquitos in the room (no mosquito nets in any windows even in the bad room windows), no facilities in the bad room, safety box didn't work, tv remote didn't worked, aircon very loud
The location is a 10...the room is a 5”
There was so much wrong with our room I don't know where to start. First the water pressure or lack of. The water stopped half way through a shower. But that was probably a good thing since the water was cold. I never had a warm shower on my stay. At night the guests all gathered in the lobby. That was because that was the only place you could get WiFi. The place is a mosquito haven. I had dozens of them hovering around my door just waiting to get in my room. They have a tea kettle but don't provide any coffee or tea. Also you get only two bottles of water on the FIRST night of your visit. Their restaurant served mediocre food at best. Really this is a low budget place on an expensive beachfront. You should be able to find something better.
overall is good. facilities are good and food is reasonable. my only concern is the toilet, the drainage on the toilet floor is not properly working.the water after bath is not properly flowing done and the floor is a bit slippery as well. but overall it was a good stay. i will definitely good back

Staff was wonderful, food was great, beach was lovely and we really enjoyed out time here. Was close enough to town that you could walk everywhere but far enough removed that it was quiet and peaceful. Landscaping and pool area made you feel like you were in the jungle!

Love the atmosphere, good breakfast, good beach! ”
so many trees on site combined with all the wood accents in the construction of the resort make this a special place with a natural feel. The staff were professional and dealt with problems quickly and politely. I used the laundry service and had no problem getting it back smelling fresh the next day. The whole area had a power outage when I was there, but luckily they had a generator. Would have been a hot sweaty night! The beach is why you should come here. Very relaxing to lay on the beach chairs and listen to the waves. Not too many people on this section of beach. Would definitely return.
Warmth Greetings! Thank you so much for choosing Alona Tropical as one of your vacation destination. We are looking forward for your next stay in our humble Tropical Paradise. God bless and more power to you!
Disappointed room was not up to expectation, free Wi-Fi was only available in Restaurant and Bar”
Bar and restaurant were clean but had a terrible mosquito problem. Could only get a buffet Breakfast and on the 2nd day there was no bread available. No information provided in the room at all regarding any of the services available which is usually standard at most hotels that charge the rate they do. Not even a TV channel list. No in room refrigerator. There are better value accommodation options in Alona Beach that provide better rooms and guest services. Would not recommend this resort to anyone and think the rating that it has on Agoda is inflated.
Nature scenic resort with a very nice pool”
Peaceful, relaxing and quiet place. If you need to relax and a peaceful place this place suits you.
Beach property ”
Pros: The property itself is right on the beach. It is next to the famous Henann Resort. We were fortunate enough to be on the 1st floor, close to the resort pool & beach. The room & ameneties were basic but clean & bed was comfortable enough. We did not eat at the restaurant. We opted to eat at the Henann for dinner since they offered amazing Happy Hour food & libations. Also, we ate at other restaurants on the beach for breakfast & lunch. Cons: Wi-Fi was only available at main lobby area. Receptionist did not give us the correct information regarding moped rental. She directed us to go on the main road to rent when the moped rental is literally just outside the resort gates also when asked how much it was to take their resort shuttle she gave us a price of 800 pesos but she could have offered us to take their tricycle for 250 pesos/10 minute ride to airport. My biggest issue with the place was their shower floor, it was very slippery, I slipped & fell backwards.
beachfront hotel after hennan beach”
pros -the hotel can be accessed from the main road compare to other hotels -room is spacious and with veranda -with pool -with buffet breakfast but Agoda is not offering the breakfast -the choices in the breakfast are ok -friendly and approachable staff -comfy pillows and bed -aircon, tv and water in the faucets are working cons -one time complimentary water -no complimentary coffee -no complimentary conditioner and toothpaste -no standby umbrella in each room -no wifi in the rooms; wifi is only available in the restaurant and reception area -no hot water in the faucets and shower -no telephone in the room so that we can call the reception area
Not worth it ”
It's a nice place to stay but lacking a lot. There's no fridge, they say complimentary water but only 2 small bottles, it also says Wi-Fi in rooms but no and I barely got data internet. The water pressure is just a trickle unless you like cold water and the water temperature for hot water is not very high it's barely lukewarm. Then at the time of my checkout they changed me for an extra mattress which I wasn't expecting because I booked for 7 people so I should have paid for 7 when I booked. This is the first and last time I will stay here. Although the staff are very friendly I don't see the value. Very poor
