Something a little bit off about this hotel”
Ended up staying here as we joined a group of our friends on a tour to Kandy and Nuwara Eliya and there hotel was booked out (St Andrews - a much better options). At check-in the guy at the desk didn't even ask for my passport which I found very odd and for the few hours we actually stayed there everything was not quite right. There had been a lot of rain and it was actually quite cold in the mountains the nite we stayed there and even tho we were paying $AU92 for not much they wanted to charge us for a heater! A lot of guys hanging out in the foyer the whole time we were there too, odd. Room was mostly clean and tidy. Beds were hard and not too bad. Bathroom was great with hot shower which was a feature in SL and India. At breakfast we were the only ones there. Not surprising really. This hotel is doable but if you have another option in Nuwara Eliya then stay there.

Value for money but not exciting ”
Hotel facilities are ok but not exciting. Location is good but rooms are not clean. However best thing is that the hotel staffs did their 100% to make us enjoy the stay within their limitations. There was human touch in every activity and the GM Duminda was so good and professional. May be "Hotel staff" is the only thing that will make us decide to go for stay next time in this hotel.

Nice hotel at a good location”
It's a beautiful old building, very classic, and it's walking distance to anything in town and the Gregory Lake. In front of the hotel at the roadside it's easy to get a tuk tuk and so it's easy to get around. The staff is making a big effort to entertain you at night with their bar and live music in the attic with a pool table. On the other hand, it's perhaps a bit expensive for what it is.

Great old charm”
Nice place, a little worn in but well kept up. Very eager service that you might find in a place that was much more expensive. Accommodating, always someone there ready to answer questions or provide friendly service. Nice fireplace in lobby that they'll put a fire on for you if you like. It was a little cold when we were there and they charge you extra for a heater that doesn't really work, but I figure generally heat isn't an issue in Sri Lanka so probably won't come up.

Good location, room was not too great”
(a) Light bulbs were missing from the room which does not get much of any sunlight except for an hour or so. (b) Though it was adverized as a hotel with wi-fi facilities, the facilities were limited to the reception area only (without any seating facility). Please remove the apparently false claim of this hotel. (c) Water did not flush down from the sink basin when we moved in. After some work by the staff, it started to go down but not too well. (d) At the best, it is a two-star hotel?

Hotel has a nice atmosphere, but needs renovation, new furniture and as in many hotels at Sri Lanka cleaning should be more taken care of. Staff is nevertheless very helpful.

generally fine, but overpriced”
was a bit disappointed with this hotel. it is relatively pricey but did not offer value. on arrival there was a delay in finding the booking and was left standing around. then a power cut. no towels in the room which was very dated. had to retune the tv myself and wifi was intermittent. staff were helpful on all there things and the public areas were nice enough - bar, reception, garden. recommend staying somewhere cheaper and using facilities at the jetwing type hotels.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and found this hotel to be really old, Overpriced and hygiene was just OK. Nothing great, no toileteries. There is no Heating available which can be needed due to cold climate.

Very bad experience and I shall never ever select this hotel in future. We could not sleep the whole night due to the loud sound and noise from adjacent room. Though we complained this to the hotel executive, no action was taken. The breakfast was very poor - stale breads, no juice, no dosa because the dough had finished. Untidy tables - overall it was a very bad experience for me and my family.

Worst hotel ever!!”
We checked into this hotel around 4 pm, check in was smooth, But they ddnt have any card payment, neither did they inform us earlier and the worst is that we were so stunned to discover that hotel bellboys/workers started to enter and open the doors of our room without even knocking, not once but twice, THEY JUST OPENED THE DOOR!! once when we were lying in the bed The other time when it was me just finished clothing up! Worst hotel ever!! Had the horrible experience
