Alta Cebu Resort is the closest resort to Cebu City. To achieve superior service, the owners are personally involved with guest relations, operations, and training the staff. The resort's rainforest-like gardens are considered some of the best in Cebu. Surrounded by Polynesian-inspired architecture and artwork, Alta Cebu Resort feels like an idyllic native village in paradise. The venue is a delightful place for family vacations, weddings, honeymoons, or for experiencing the local culture firsthand. The La Regatta restaurant features Chef Aldrin’s cuisine, the subject of many rave reviews. Island hopping adventures leave directly from the Alta Bay dock and Alta Tour’s consultants are always on hand to help guests discover the best of Cebu Island and beyond. With newly refurbished rooms, a crystal clear pool, a tranquil spa, frequent live entertainment, and lots of sports and activities, guests often choose to extend their stay. This place could be nice but the rooms are really dirty and mosquitoes are rife. We didn't encounter mosquitoes anywhere else but here in 3 weeks in the Philippines. The pool is nice but the rooms just need a really good scrub especially the floors and all the furniture is very dated and quite worn, shame really as the setting is nice and it has potential but just doesn't come up to scratch.
resort jungle living.”
great place, good service, karoke singers good. food good.pool excellent..
in the middle of nowhere”
This resort is extremely far from downtown. It's literally middle of nowhere. If you don't take a taxi, you can't go anywhere. Moreover, many of taxis refused going to this hotel from downtown. The internet was almost not available while we were staying. Not only Wifi, but also LTE we paid. Very bad internet connection. And the standard room doesn't look like the picture they uploaded. So don't get cheated. There was no toilet cover and we couldn't use hot water. We complained about this, and somehow our room got upgraded. But this time, we couldn't use electricity. But they serve pretty nice meals (They have to. Because there s no restaurant near the resort) and the swimming pool is cool. The resort itself is pretty as well.
Thought the food is pricy for a just ok taste. We really like their staff as they are friendly and accomoddating and not to mention the location, its almost near every touristy spot we can ever think of of in Lapu Lapu.
Very nice Place but not much around the area”
the place is just beautiful. staff is nice and friendly. pool is stunning and the rooms too. no issues with anything. it was great to stay for the price we paid. the only thing o have to mention is the food was good but pretty much nothing on it. the value for the food was not good enough in my opinion. around is also nothing you can go to. not even a 7eleven. I still would go to the place back when I had a departure flight from Cebu or just for a relaxing day there.
Hello David Your flattery is very much appreciated. Our staff is more motivated to do their best when people can see the fruits of our labors. We are hoping to find a foreign born chef to help our chefs learn more about western tastes. I eat at the restaurant, and my main complaint is they are not as consistent as they could be. Things are improving now that i returned in June to manage the restaurant and the operations once more. We do offer tours of the city and the island. There are actually a lot of nice cafe and restaurants within 1 or 2 KM. Sorry our staff did not tell you about it. Larry, Owner
Our stay at Alta Cebu was made by the amazing staff, always helpful, always courteous and always ready to resolve any problems (only one solved very quickly) Its a lovely hotel, in a lovely setting made all the better by fantastic staff. I can happily reccomend staying there.
Hi Stephen We need more guests like you..haha Thanks a lot for the ringing endorsement Larry, Owner
Fantastic Hotel -A Real Gem, excellent value value”
We had a fantastic time. The place is managed by Larry (American) who built it from scratch. He is passionate about customer service and runs the resort very efficiently whilst preserving a family atmosphere. The rooms are immaculate with large 4-poster beds and plenty of room. We enjoyed the swimming pool and other facilities. The restaurant is also excellent with a varied menu; large selection of wines and excellent service. The only slight downside is that it does not have a beach, but this didn't worry us - we enjoyed a lot anyway. I would recommend this resort to anyone! Please visit!
Very pretty grounds ”
The hotel grounds are very pretty and the rooms are well maintained. It's apparent that a lot of thought was put into the set up of the hotel. Small things, like personal robes in the room, made our stay very nice. All of the staff were very friendly and the owner is nicely present and approachable. Only two things were inconvenient for us at the hotel: 1) It is remotely located on Mactan Island. Many of our taxi drivers did not know where it was. Make sure you take a map with you when you go. There are a couple of signs posted on the main road (King Degami Hwy) on Mactan once you get into Cordova. Also, don't let taxi drivers swindle you out of money. One of our drivers hid his meter, which already had a large charge on it, when he picked us up at the hotel. He explained that the charge was for coming to the hotel from where he parked. We didn't know that he wasn't supposed to do that until we got back to the hotel. 2) Both the kitchen and the bar need more expertise in them. Suggestions for the owner of the hotel: give the bartender a drink recipe book and ask the chef to cut down on sauces, especially mayonnaise on the sandwiches. :)
Wonderful hotel with a tropical feel”
The staff at this hotel works hard to make sure that every one of your needs is met instantly. Our room's air conditioner did not cool the room to our liking, so they immediately moved us to a better and bigger room. They offer a mini-gym, a rock-climbing wall, a pool and jacuzzi, a game room, a karaoke room, and a mini zoo, just to name a few of the amenities. The mini zoo was my favorite because they had cute monkeys there that you could feed. They also have a short walkway that leads to a dock on the river. Even though the location is a little far from Cebu city proper, the time you take to get there is well worth the wait. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to relax and enjoy the more peaceful things in life.
A Hidden Gem, Great facility for fun and rest.”
fun place to get away and enjoy a few days of carefree living by the pool, restaurant, and bar. the service was very attentive and friendly and the food was very good and reasonably priced. the rooms were neat, cleaned well, and well equipped -- a small fridge was very convenient too. free internet was also a nice extra.
Very relaxing and visitor- firendly hotel”
Our stay in the hotel was very satisfying. This is a very nice place for people who wants to relax and escape for a while from the bustle of city life. Hotel rooms are very relaxing, surroundings is environment-friendly, full of flowers and trees, hotel staff are very friendly, foods taste good. This is a very friendly hotel. This hotel is highly recommended for people who just want to relax. The nice gardens and peaceful surroundings plus its location which is a bit far from the city proper add up to its relaxing ambiance.
Beautiful & peaceful retreat - just what we needed”
My partner and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Alta Cebu Resort and would love to return one day. The extensive, beautiful and creatively designed gardens and courtyards provided a very peaceful and relaxing retreat. This is exactly what I needed after experiencing the hustle and bustle of Manila. We often found ourselves wandering these lovely gardens or relaxing by the large and well-maintained pool. We found the staff were warm, friendly and attentive to our needs. Indeed nothing seemed too much for them, to make our stay more comfortable. I also enjoyed some interesting conversations with the owner who lives on site. It was clear that this was more than a just business to him - he seemed almost visionary in his passion and devotion to the successful running of the resort. A gate at the back of the resort opens to a lovely foot bridge that takes one over a small fishing village and down to the gazebo by the water's edge. Here one can watch the small fishing boats pass by and look out across to Cebu City and the mountains beyond on the main island. I found myself constantly drawn to this charming little bridge that connected our comfortable world inside to the more simple world outside. One of the high-lights of our stay was visiting the orphanage behind the resort (which I understand receives some donations from the resort). Meeting these beautiful and friendly children who seemed so happy and content despite their modest and less fortunate circumstances reminded me how much we have to be thankful for in our more affluent western societies. I will never forget their smiling faces and warm welcome.
big hotel&resort&convention hall for local people”
swimming pool is okay. there are diverse depth. but not 100% clean food is just okay. quite big place, fresh air, many trees and many filipinos there was foam party on Saturday night. but there were only few people. location is really far from highway and center of city. so it is hard to find something near hotel.
I had booked the normal room Agorda by notice I got a dull wintry room. I bought a dress for 10 days i was one night when i did not get what i bought i got i took a nice hotel the same price a person in the municipality very bad began to explain it to sun this I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
service and facilities gone downhill ”
Have stayed here many times before but unfortunately this will be the last time we will stay. Waited over 18 hours for towels to be delivered to the room as could not shower. Staff not as friendly as before. A service charge has been added everytime you order a drink so gets quite expensive. Drink prices have gone up. Cocktails had wring ingredients. The night we stayed we won’t allowed to eat outside cos of a function. Just very disappointed as this was my favourite resort in Phillipines
Nice average place to unwind”
the place is well kept. the rooms are clean and pleasant. Unfortunately the mattresses are two cheap forms stacked on top of each other. they kept sliding with each turn while sleeping. had to reposition them often. The food was terrible for the price and many items on the menu were not available the whole time we stayed there. if you are looking for a vacation spot, i wont recommend. this is more of a business stop over but even then the location ia far from the metro and the dining places. transport is very expensive. ..about P435 each way to the cebu city SM reclamation. Hotel has no transport for guests to the city and did not assist with getting a taxi. the images on the agoda ads are inviting but when we got there we were immediately so how misleading they were. overall, expectations were unmet. their marketing team did a great job at turning a not so good looking place to look like a truly cool resort. I dont like that. we felt deceived. I know this may offend someone but guys learn from it. we are happy to pay for quality. Ended up transferring to Crown Regency towers in Cebu City. couldn't take it anymore. certainly won't be going back.
A good place to relax”
We loved how peaceful the place was, flowers and plants everywhere, food was great, room was huge, and clean, ac was good, clean pools, friendly and accommodating staff. Overall, our stay was perfect! Just exactly what we needed at that time, relief from stress at work. Thanks and til next time!

Staff was nice..
Stayed in Allegre room. Cons: 1. Bath tub clogged 2. Electricity outage 3. No WiFi in room 4. Meal was overcharged 5. Given wrong change 6. No natural light in room 7. Can hear planes about once an hour. 8. Can hear smokers in the hallway smoking areas 9. The airport transportation is a taxi you pay for. Pros 1. Staff were always quick to check on/try to fix problems. 2. Check in and check out were hassle free. 3. Don’t smell the smoke from hallway smoking areas.
