Stumbled across this Oasis when traveling around on a motorcycle. Glad we did as this is a wonderful resort so relaxing and friendly. It was so good we will be booking again next year. 5*

Best place to be on Samui ”
If you´re searching for a quiet place, away from the tourists place on the east side beaches, Am Samui Resort is the best place to stay. The bungalow directly on the beach front gives an impressive view to the ocean, you`re lying under coconutpalms and can relax in the beach chairs, belonging to the bungalow. The Bungalow is very clean and has an own safe, bathroom with rainshower and enough towels, that are renewed every day. Also you can use free Wifi. The staff is really authentic and friendly. Food in the restaurant is delicious. We stayed there for almost one week and enjoyed the wonderful location at the west beach of Samui. You can rent motorcycles in the hotel itself for Bht a day, for visiting other places on Samui. The hotel complex is far away from the party places, a good choice for couples, who are searching for individual holiday near to the Thais. We really enjoyed staying there.

The best place for peace and quiet on Samui”
This was my third stay at Am Samui. The resort gets nicer all the time. The staff are wonderful, the quiet, tranquil remote locations is the best on the Island. The private beach is the best place to watch the sunset and wade around in the warm water. Even though Am Samui is located in the undeveloped part of the Island there are still 4-5 restaurants and 2-3 little shops with in walking distance. They rent mopeds so anywhere is reachable. I had a special diet and they were more than happy to cater to my special off-menu requests. They even did a special shopping trip and kept special food/drink options available for me during my stay. The Family that runs the resort lives on site and takes special care to ensure all the guests needs are addressed. Am Samui is truly a special place. There are precious few left like this due to the overwhelming commercialism/mass tourism in so many other parts of the Island.

Wonderfully relaxing”
Am Samui was the perfect choice for us as a couple wanting rest, relaxation and romance. We spent two weeks here at the beginning of April and there were only a few other guests. The hotel is located in quite an isolated area. There are four restaurants within walking distance along the beach (two of which belong to luxury hotels). We still found the food to be the best at Am Samui. We stayed in a beachside bungalow which was big, bright and of a good standard. I'm glad we chose this option after seeing the garden bungalows as they were much smaller and we had a large veranda where we could enjoy morning and afternoon coffee. We ordered a taxi from the hotel several nights to go in to Chaweng, which was about half an hours drive away. It was fun with the hustle and bustle for a few hours but coming back to the calm of Am Samui was absolutely wonderful. We are already dreaming of coming back here one day.

Lovely hotel on quiet sunset side of samui”
Am Samui was very realxing and definntiely on the better side of the island where its less commercial and much more peaceful. You get a great view of the 5 islands and beautiful sunsets on their nice beach there. A relaxing atmosphere with hammocks and beach swings and lots of space to relax. it feels very private and lovely with the coconut palms and quiet surrounds. It is a 5 km walk to the nearest main road where you can catch a songatheaw into the busier parts of Koh Samui. the restaurant food is nice, but pricey in comparision to others. Clean, spacious nice beach bungalows with room service. Nice white linen and big clean windows to look out and enjoy the view. Aircon and sattelite tv was a bonus. i'd recommend if you want to escape the hustle of places such as chaweng

Stunning quiet location”
I used Am Samui resort as a base from which to explore the island. It was exactly suited for my requirements being in a stunning location in the quiet S.W. corner, however easily accessible to the rest of Koh Samui, albeit transportation is required. The staff were all delightful, helpful and always smiling. I intend to return.

Very relaxing and chilled atmosphere”
I stayed here with my husband and 2 young children (aged 4 and 6 months) for one week. There was hardly anyone staying so it felt like we were on our own private beach! We needed an affordable place as we are travelling for 3 months with young children but didn't want to compromise on being near the beach, being comfortable and delicious food. Am Samui is definitely underrated. We arrived at the hotel and the room we had booked was going to be too small so they upgraded us to a beach bungalow right on the beach. We did have to pay a small amount but it was much cheaper than the advertised price. The food was delicious (a little bit more expensive than we would have liked) but it seems consistent with 3-4 star hotel priced food. The staff were friendly, particularly the manager who would often come and have a chat to us. It's also great for children as there is a swing, see-saw and some ride on toys. The only negative things I would say was that we seemed to have quiet a few ants in our room, particularly on our bed at times. Behind the bed also looked like it needed a good vacuum as there was a fair bit of dust and dirt. Overall, the room was clean and the cleaning staff were very attentive and had our room cleaned by the time we returned from breakfast each morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A true paradise”
we really, really loved our 6 day stay at Am Samui. We booked for 2 days, but stayed 6. Even while the weather was not so good. But the kind staff, the lovely bungalow with porch on the beach and the easygoing atmosphere made our stay wonderful. Leo is a very good host and helps with everything possible. When we return to Koh Samui we will definitely return to Am Samui Resort!

private beach but use as a base to explore from”
stayed for 5 days here. rooms were small but very cute little bungalow with a beautful rock floor bathroom. was pleasant to relax in a secluded hotel away from all the traffic and hussle of busy cities. we hired a motorbike from nathon (25mins away, 400baht taxi from hotel) and used them for the three days (200 baht per day) making the whole island accessable. if we didnt have this option ou feel like your pretty hidden from everything and the days get away from you just hanging out at the hotel. food was great and not too expensive (150- 300 baht) considering it was the only option without traveling by motorbike to town. walking distance to another ritzzy hotel (intercontinental) that has an amazing bar ('the air bar') ontop of the hill that overlooks what feels like the whole of koh samui!... a must do! over all very happy for what we needed and wanted at the time!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Am Samui Resort very much. Our room and the bathroom was big, clean and well decorated. The view on the beach is nice and the food is good. I totally recomend this hotel for his affordable price and the quality of the accomodation.

Little Gem”
We have stayed in Koh Samui before and loved the beach bungalow feel without high costs. Now Chaweang is blown out this was a wonderful alternative. The infinite swimming pool was wonderful and peaceful unlike a lot of other pools in the area. This is a lovely Beach Hotel and The staff were very attentive. They pulled off an amazing dinner with very short notice for a large party of 14. They make great Thai food and a wonderful club sandwich! The rooms are clean and they moved us when we complained about the airconditioning in our original room and gave us a better room.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Am Samui Resort and I intend to come back next year. The location is fantastic, away from the tourist crowds, and the staff make you feel right at home by making sure all your needs are covered. The food is also excellent and the pool is an important asset to this great resort.

Great for a break but restaurant a little pricey”
Great litte resort with private beach. Quite chilled but quite a few young families so some kids around. Not much around the area if you don't have transport but there's a small shop and a good local restaurant just outside the gate. A walk diwn the long beach gets you to some other places and there's an amazing bar (Air Bar) in the Intercon next door. The Am Samui beach bar and happy hour pretty good though with that amazing sunset! Recomended!!!!

Nice little beachfront hotel”
My beachfront room was quite nice, at night I could hear the waves lapping. The location (Taling ngam beach) is further away from the action spots in Samui, but if you want a relaxing time, with great value for money then this place is great. Transportation (taxis) could be easily arranged to get to other parts of the island, just be sure to check the rates of the taxis first.
