Tranquil hotel with rich colonial heritage ”
Amara Sanctuary Hotel is nestled in a quiet spot of Sentosa near the island entrance. By cutting across the pathway behind the hotel you can easily walk to Palawan Beach in 10 min. The nearest monorail station is the Beach Station and it brings you to Resort World Sentosa (alight at Waterfront Station) and then out of Sentosa to VivoCity (alight at Sentosa Station), which is a big shopping mall with plenty to eat and shop. The hotel staff are very friendly and the room is clean. During weekend there is a 1h walking tour starting from 10am where the hotel security manager and his staff will bring guests around the hotel vicinity to experience the rich colonial heritage of the place. Registration is free of charge for hotel guest and mosquito repellent spray will be provided. At the end of the tour a complimentary cocktail with slight alcohol content will be given to each adult guest while kids get a soft toy. Overall, it was a very enjoyable hotel stay.
Dear Cynthia, Thank you for the wonderful review. We are pleased to hear that your experience was an exceptional one and we hope to welcome you back soon. Yours faithfully, Benny Wong Front Office Manager
Relaxing and enjoyable”
We had a great stay at the Amara Sanctuary Resort. Our first impressions were fantastic and this impression continued for the duration of our stay. Our terrace room was well layout and comfortable. This was our last stop after a month long holiday and it was exactly what we needed. We were close to the monorail and harbour side shopping, as well as being close to the attractions on Sentosa had to offer. We enjoyed both the in room dining and the fantastic restaurants, great quality and choice. The staff were fantastic and were helpful and attentive for the duration. Could not have asked more. We look forward to staying there again.
Very relaxing and quiet hotel”
We enjoyed our stay very much at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa. It is like a resort out of our mundane world, with lots of greens and easy access to many places in Sentosa. We are pleased to find the electric bicycles for rental, which we took the opportunity to cycle around the Sentosa Island. Staff are fast and efficient, making the stay a truly relaxing one and we will definitely come back for more.
Wonderful staycation during pre-Christmas weekend”
Booked our staycation for a night at Amara Sanctuary Sentosa and was given an upgrade by Front Office Manager to Larkhill Terrace room. We loved the exclusivity of the room and were also WOW by the private swimming pool located at the back. The hotel is located within walking distance of Sentosa Express station where many restaurants and attractions are located at. Lastly, Front Desk staffs were also very pleasant and courteous while dealing with many people during busy period for check-in.
One-of-a-kind hotel with awesome service!”
I booked a night's stay at Amara Sanctuary to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade upon check-in, and the friendly staff also made our dreary and rainy day feel much better. Staff service was fabulous because they attended to all our needs – from check-in to bringing our bags to the room and even loaning us some DVDs as entertainment. There was a staff who came in to top-up the essential oils and left us chocolates. =) The location within Sentosa is extremely ideal as we were a stone's throw away from all sorts of activities and food outlets. We really felt as though we were on a holiday abroad! The buffet breakfast variety at Shutters was also wonderful; I love the fact that they serve freshly-squeezed juice! When we were checking out, one of the hotel staff took the time to bring us around all the various types of rooms/villas, because we were curious about the options available. I know now for sure which room type I will book next! Swimming pools were also awesome; a pity that we did not swim as the wet weather was a dampener. All in all we really loved our staycation and will definitely be back!
Modern Zen”
i visit singapore half a dozen times a year on business and always stay on sentosa at one of three spa hotels. if my wife or daughter come with me they're happy to be there, if i am alone it gives me a pretence that i'm on holiday, not business, and gives me a little retreat at a distance from the business world. people say 'it's so far from the office' but if you are used to living in any city, 15 or 20 mins in a cab is nothing and they aren't dear in singapore, and instead of being in a busy city hotel you are on a tropical island. business travellers, don't be put off by people's comments of distance, holiday travellers, if you want calm in singapore make sure you stay in sentosa, not in town. the amara is, i believe, old british military officers accommodation, renovated to a great standard. my (ground level) suite was larger than average, well furnished, super quality bathroom, and a private courtyard with a sunken spa bath. every evening the aroma oil burner in the room was lit as were candles round the spa bath, a nice touch. internet is cable, not wifi, shame! if you get a verandah suite (upstairs) you don't get a courtyard, but (obviously) you get a verandah. when you arrive at night you don't notice, but as soon as it was morning and there was no natural light i noticed that the downstairs courtyard suites don't actually have windows! so choose, windows or courtyard! i just like the ambience of this collection of disconnected villa type rooms, around landscaped gardens. it's really a holiday feel. they have a golf buggy service to get you around, but there's no need really, you can walk everywhere. i wish i'd had more daytime away from work to relax here;
Excellent service and Care @ Amara Sanctuary”
I spent a weekend there and was greeted by a very courteous recpetionist, Magnolia when I checked in. She was very patient in dealing with my requests. Also the concierge team was very helpful, headed by a most helpful Chef Concierge, Mr Ashok. He couldn't be more helpful with all the information I needed to ensure there wasn't any hiccups to my weekend there. Even the security guard was most kind in suggesting that a buggy was used to transport my elderly parents to the nearby bus-stop to catch the transport to the venue of the 'Songs of the Sea' Show. The rooms were very spacious and airy, excellent layout and an excellent sized bathroom. We were all very impressed with the Amara Sanctuary in Sentosa and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.
A Sanctuary Away from the City”
Surrounded by nature, Amara Sanctuary really takes me away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The friendly staff made it really comfortable and pampered to stay there. Located near Palawan beach, the room oversee the South China Sea. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the room was spacious. Room service was efficient and delicious. The cafe Shutter serves delightful spread for breakfast too. However, the connectivity of the digital TV was less than ideal and as with every hotels, the switches of the lights were really confusing. I could hear the subtle noise from the rollercoasters and music from Universal Studio when I am on the premise. The infinity pool on the sky deck is not big but has a magnificent view. However, the roof of the deck is not well maintained and space of the poolside was not well utilised. The spa was very average, especially for the price. Neither the ambiance or service differentiates the spa from regular salons. Even the receptionist could to hold a conversation efficiently in English. The only incentive was the refreshing dessert served after my treatment. All in all, a very delightful stay and I'll return to this resort.
Dear Evelyn, Thank you so much for the time you’ve dedicated to share your experience with us. We are glad you found the location convenient and loved the room service food. I am very disappointed to learn that your feedback on cleanliness, TV connectivity and upkeeping is not reflective of the standards we hold at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa. For that, I sincerely apologise. I would like to assure you that the team has been reminded to take extra care of these areas of concern. We hope you will give us the opportunity to be of service to you again when your travel takes you back to Singapore. Yours sincerely, Benny Wong Front Office Manager
Cosy and luxurious!”
Amara Sanctuary Resort is a good choice if you don't want to go to Singapore to sightsee but to relax. The rooms are very nice, big and tastefully decorated and are very clean. The dream pool is a dream, espescially because there are no children allowed up there, so you actually have a chance to swim and relax! For families, there's a second pool. At Amara, you have a chance to see peacocks and other exotics birds, you might even see a monkey! Padawan Beach is about 5 minutes away on foot.
Away from the city buzz”
Went to Amara Sanctuary Resort to have my first solo virgin trip just to get away from stress . So when I first step into the place, I was greeted by the receptionist and she is so friendly(Dark skin , Malaysian. I'm sorry I didn't know your name =) ), answered my queries and help me understand the system there. Then I went into the room, I am so impressed with the interior layout with a modern feel. Love the door to the bath room. View was excellent ! Ordered room service a couple of time and it reaches within the time given or less! Tried pasta marinara for dinner , creme brulee for supper and pancakes for breakfast and it was tasty and superb ! Not forgetting the room service guys; they are really friendly =) I'll definitely be coming back for some peace and just relax . Thanks everyone =) xx
Great location and Nice Room”
What we like about Amara Sanctuary Resort is the location. It is just 5-10 mins walk to Palawan Beach where Port of Lost Wonder water park is located. We booked 3 rooms, all the rooms are cleaned and beds are very comfortable. One of the 3 room has a great view of the Palawan beach. In the hotel lobby, there are complimentary drinks, "ka chiang pu teh" (local assorted peanuts snack" and ice cream. The house drink they served is so refreshing, we loved it. The Sky pool located on the 4th floor is very small, children are not allowed to use the pool, but the pool has such a nice view. It would be nice if the rooms comes with breakfast with slightly discounted prices. The cost of breakfast is $33++ per pax which we find it expensive if we pay on top of the room charges. Overall, we like the hotel and may go back to stay in our next staycation.
Lovely hotel with great service”
amara sanctuary has always been one of my favorite hotels in singapore. great location for an escape from the city due to the serenity of the environment. it is also within walking distance from sentosa resort world and universal studio. and not to mention,5minutes drive away from vivo city shopping mall and harborfront mrt station.
Peaceful hotel with a very nice ambience”
amara sanctuary is located in sentosa. getting there is very easy if you take a cab. it is located very near to the gateway (entrance) of sentosa. we did not have to pay for entrance to sentosa as amara guests get free passes. we arrived at close to 4pm and had a very smooth check-in with friendly smiles from front desk. our room was relatively big and clean. we we given the very basic toothbrush/paste and cotton buds. would have been nice to have had a comb as well.
Execllent Environment and Service”
Overall Amara Sanctuary Resort is worth staying is value for money the service was great just that some areas that should be improved and it will be better. I guess if your going for a beach vacation or a getway from the city life, Amara Sancturay Resort is a must to try resort in Sentosa Island. Thumb up!
Great location and rooms with good view”
I had an amazing stay at Amara Sanctuary Resort. I had a room with a very good view of the sea. In addition, set amidst beautiful greenery, Amara was really the perfect place for my partner and I to unwind and relax. The Premier room also had really nice decor, with facilities and amenities that met our needs and expectations. I would definitely recommend a stay at Amara Sanctuary Resort.
A sanctuary for a quick getaway”
Amara Sanctuary is nestled in an amazing location on the island of Sentosa with commanding views of the South China Sea. It's hard to believe - what with wandering peacocks and the dense jungle around you - that you're still within a quick hop away from Singapore. The staff were genuinely warm and made sure to make our stay as wonderful as possible. Within easy walking distance to the beach and world-class restaurants too!
Exceptional”
We are a couple in our 80's in Sentosa to see our grandson compete in Triathlon. We have run a very successful B&B in NZ in our retirement and are very aware of all accommodation pluses and minuses and that is why we have no reservations in rating Amara Sanctuary Resort at 10 out of 10 in meeting our expectations. Bruce and Nita Wilde NZ.
Dear Nita, Thank you for the wonderful review. We are pleased to hear that your experience was an exceptional one and we hope to welcome you back soon. Yours faithfully, Benny Wong Front Office Manager
An awesome birthday stay with great hotel staff”
it was my birthday plan to stay at amara sanctuary spa. it was my first time to stay at this hotel. the reception staff was great. she saw my birth date and without any hesitation she upgraded me to a courtyard suite. the staff that helped us to our room was so polite and attentive. breakfast was great when we had two days of room service. on the actual morning of my birthday they were awesome and gave our room a complimentary yummilicious basket of pastries accompanied with our brekkie! i can't express more!!! it was just so relaxing and somehow this hotel didn't make me miss home at all coz it really felt like home!!! great place to stay!!! thank you amara sanctuary spa!!!
A Literal Sanctuary ”
Our stay in Amara was amazing. The resort offers the peace and serenity of a sanctuary and the fun and excitement of Sentosa. The infinity pool had a stunning view and the dream pool was extremely relaxing for a lazy weekend. The staff was great, really friendly and attentive. Did not even need to ask for help to get help needed haha. Our room was clean and need and the toilet was everything I could ask for. Loved the fact that they gave us an ice bucket for our Bottega. 10/10 staying experience! Would totally go back again :)
