    “Unfinished Renovation Floor Shouldn’t Have Been Open”

    This was my second stay at this hotel. My first visit went smoothly without any issues, which is why I decided to book again. Unfortunately, this time the experience was quite different. My room was located on a floor that was still under renovation. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, there was a strong smell (maybe paint - not sure but its a bad smell) , and workers were still painting even though I checked in late at night (around 10 PM). The next morning, the renovation work continued with noise from people talking and working right outside the room, making it hard for us to rest properly. Moreover, since we were women traveling alone, having construction workers on the same floor made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Walking through the hallway, we constantly encountered the unpleasant smell. On the positive side, the hotel has a strategic location, easy to reach and close to many places. Room service and concierge were friendly and helpful. However, the reception staff were inconsistent—some were warm and welcoming, while others came across as unfriendly. Overall: The hotel has potential with its good location and generally friendly service, but management should not open floors that are still under renovation to guests, as this severely impacts both comfort and safety.

    “Superb Hotel, Great Location and Facilities!”

    I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly-renovated Amara Singapore, and I couldn't be more impressed. The refreshed rooms are modern, stylish and incredibly comfortable - truly a sanctuary in the heart of the city. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from Tanjong Pagar MRT station, making it a breeze to get around. Plus, being so close to the Tanjong Pagar hawker centre meant I could indulge in delicious local eats anytime I wanted. The transport links are superb, making it easy to explore all that Singapore has to offer. What really made my stay exceptional was the staff.     “Good Location, Clean - For Muslims, slight cautios”

    Checked in and the staff gave complimentary upgrade to Club Room, we appreciate it. Nearest MRT Tanjong Pagar - 3 mins walk. Lovely bedding, comfortable bed and heavy comforter. Good snacks and beverages in room. Super good bath essentials too from Apelles. Staff gave recommendations as well for sight seeing, but does not seem very adept as they keep on needing to google it. The only thing bothering was: 1. Reception staff told us no pork, no lard at restaurant. But during next day buffet, saw Pork Bacon being served alongside meals. 2. No Iron. When asked, iron board provided was very small 3. Bath tub drain plug need to press fast and hard, only can plug the tub. On 1st night, we tried many times to close but couldn't, just gave up at the end. Overall, probably would stay again but will take out breakfast option as a muslim.

    “👍 Excellent location, spacious and clean rooms”

    👍 Excellent location for exploration whether you are tourist or local. Right in the city centre with plenty of options for sight-seeing, culture, food, cafe, transport and more! 👍 Nicely renovated rooms - rooms are big and clean with all the facilities one will need during a trip. Value for money! 👍 Decent gym and pool to stay active if you do not wish to venture out 🙏 Could improve on the check-in/check-out process. The counter is very small. While queuing, I have wondered if it is just an information counter. Perhaps could have some kind of label. Most of the staff also seemed unsure of the process which took up some time. Some staff will inform guests of checkout timing/wifi/facilities location but some (like the one I met) didn’t. And there were also inconsistencies in what the staff informed us with to check out time vs what actually was. There are also staff just standing around not doing anything - not sure if the staff is still learning? 🙏 Could have an express check-out counter or box for guests to deposit their keys? I’ve encountered guests who were in a hurry to leave but have to join the same queue as guests who are checking in. I also faced the same long queue when checking out. 🙏 Could be more frequent with bringing fresh pool towels. I went in the morning and in the late afternoon. Both times, there was only 2 towels left and it also smelled used when I used it. Many other guests came and looks disappointed without any pool towels. Perhaps the hotel staff are still getting used to the new hotel and processes. And there are some kinks in the process to iron out. But overall, i would still recommend it 👍

    “Convenient hotels in the CBD area”

    This was my first time using it, but it is a very convenient location, about a 5-minute walk from MRT Dhoby Ghaut station in the Central Business District. Check-in was done via a machine, and when I hesitated because I was unfamiliar with the operation, a kind staff member immediately offered help without being asked. The room was spacious and well-equipped, and as a Japanese person, I was very grateful that the toilet had a washlet. There was no bathtub, but the shower booth and toilet were separate, which felt clean. The adjacent shopping mall, 100AM, has a delicious bakery that opens in the morning, so there was no problem with the plan that did not include breakfast. I also visited a soba restaurant called IKI in the same mall during my stay, and honestly, I felt it was better than the soba I eat in Japan. I'm not necessarily promoting Japanese food, but I definitely recommend using it in between local food and spicy dishes. I believe this experience was made possible because I stayed at this hotel on the same premises, so I would definitely like to use Amara Hotel during my next visit to Singapore.

    “Pleasant stay”

    My family had a pleasant stay at Amara. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were quiet, clean and very comfortable and kept clean every day. The bathroom is half open with a frosted glass wall for the shower, which means it could be slightly awkward to get changed etc. if you are not a couple - e.g siblings or friends sharing one room. The pool and gym were easy to use. The hotel is a short walking distance to Tanjong Pagar MRT, Maxwell MRT, Chinatown and Maxwell Hawker centre. The hotel is also attached to a small shopping mall that has Muji, Don Donki, a supermarket, and a good selection of cafes and restaurants which made it very convenient. Overall I highly recommend this hotel.

    “Nice hotel to stay”

    The hotel is very nice and the renovations that had been done is very good. Unfortunately, I couldn’t upload the photos for some reason. The only take is the shower and toilet had no solid separation from the room space. Bell captain Edel (I hope I pronounce his name correctly) he was very friendly and helpful. The reception staff were very nice. Unfortunately, they couldn’t give me a late check out until 4pm. The breakfast is very good with many choices. The hotel attached to a small mall. The mall mainly has small restaurants and cafes maybe 2 hair salons, one market, small gym and offices. If you wanna get around, you need a transportation. In general, the hotel would be a good choice, if you’re looking for nice and clean room.

    “Worthy, but unpleasant ”

    Hotel room is spacious, room condition is at its best, cleanliness is tiptop. Nothing to complain about the overall presentation of the hotel. Only point to raise is human communication. We understand hotel has its own check-in time policy, request may not be fulfil for early check in. By giving your customer the reason that you’re having full-house might not be the best answer. Guest checking in and out throughout the day. It is understand-able if the check-in has more than 2 rooms together. But just with even 1 room and it is not able to fulfil, it might not be convincing. Nonethless, Agoda shows check in from 2pm, reception has informed the time should be 3-4pm. Well, without young travelers, I won’t push further on that. However, while the reception is doing our pre-registration before permitted check in time (I would believe this will be more efficient and time saving for later), there is a big size man with black suit (believe to be higher ranking manager) is telling the reception lady “you shouldn’t be doing that”. I am little offended towards his words. The reception lady was being courteous and nice, and might be considering the long queue later as everyone is only allowed to check in at that same time. Same goes to the club lounge, staff should be more alert when it’s the peak meal time. By telling guests that “let me call our chef” “I’m sending my colleague to deliver more food” “coffee machine should not have problem” even without checking it. I would know it’s running out of milk! And start taking photos all around (probably that’s the protocol to get kitchen to send up more food) By station someone whom is unable to serve your guest might not be a good idea. Other than the human interaction within the hotel , others are all fantastic!

    “Value for Money and Useful Perks”

    Stayed here for a four-night work trip. Pleasantly surprised that they allowed me an early check-in as the room was ready and my flight arrived in the morning. Also nice that a late checkout was available. Hotel’s club floor and rooms are impeccably clean, and having in-room water filters on demand is a great idea. Great location too, with plenty of dining options just a stone’s throw away. Some of the staff seemed new and a little unsure of a few things, which is the reason for four instead of five stars on that account and the pool area was a little messy.     “Good sleep from comfortable bed and pillow”

    My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. The bed and pillow were the most comfortable I have slept in. I slept very well. Highly recommend for a comfortable stay. The newly renovated room is very spacious and gives a very relaxing vibe. Hotel is located within 5min walk to Tanjong Pagar, with a mall with many restaurants nearby. The famous bar, Jigger & Pony, is located in the same hotel building. However, it is not run by the hotel. Hotel reception is unable to make a reservation for the bar - you will need to make reservations on your own online.

    “Excellent Hotel”

    I recently stayed at Hotel Amara in Singapore and had a wonderful experience. We arrived very late at night for check-in, but the process was smooth, and the receptionist was patient and polite, which made us feel very welcomed.     “It was a good hotel.”

    The location was very good, being close to the station and having a bus stop right in front. There were many convenience stores, cafes, and restaurants around the hotel, and a 24-hour supermarket, so I had no trouble at all. Particularly, there was a bakery right in front, where I could buy pies, tarts, and chiffon cakes, and then buy fresh fruits like raspberries from the nearby supermarket. I could also drink coffee from the espresso machine in my room, and I had tea as well, making breakfast and snacks very satisfying. Just a short walk away, there was a hawker center, and it made me very happy to eat at a porridge shop that opened early and drink takeout fruit juice. I didn’t check the pool as I was out sightseeing during the day, but when I went to check, there was also a gym attached, and showers were available. It seemed quite deep.     “Staycaytion at Amara”

    Really wonderful experience and excellent location as well. For starters, excellent service by the team. The front staff is really nice, especially Ethan Kim who served us upon check in. The hotel staffs greet you as you enter and leave the hotel, which isn't very common in hotels nowadays. Even the cleaners greet guests along the corridors. Only downside was I wanted to get a fork for my instant noodles at 11pm, called the room service, concierge but unfortunately no one answered. Room was great, no musty/moldy smell. Room size was excellent as well. It was huge, and the toilet was huge with a shower and a bathtub as well. Bed was really comfortable too. No renovation noises as well.     “Good Location ”

    I had an overall pleasant stay at Amara Singapore. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bed in particular was great and made for a good night’s sleep. The location is also a big plus, with many nice eateries nearby, making it very convenient to explore the area. The only downside was the breakfast experience.     “The location, room size, and layout are great...”

    It is conveniently located for touring around Singapore, close to the MRT station, and there is a shopping mall called AM100 next door where you can grab a simple breakfast or snack.     “Room was perfect with the exception of service, everything else is great”

    So it was a last minute booking for us as a staycation and also my bday month. It was the first time amongst all the hotels i have stayed during my bday month to not have a little token of appreciation - be it a free upgrade, just a slice of cake etc but i do understand its not granted. First hiccup of the day was it took about 20 to 25 minutes for check in despite there being no queue.     “Nice Accommodation With Room for Improvement”

    We stayed in a 2 bedroom aprtment which was spacious and clean. The pool was basic but nice. Nonetheless, there are areas that could be improved upon. We waited till 4pm before the rooms were ready. Going for a pricier 2 bedroom apartment for togetherness over a short famiy staycay, this was very disappointing.     “Short weekend stay with seniors and kid”

    Cleanliness and location were great. The bathroom design was strange with no hangers in the bathroom. We had to go out of the shower to get towel and clothes which awkward. Staff were not friendly when checking in. We had seniors on wheelchair and kid but no one tried to help us with luggage even when the bellboy saw us (just totally ignored us both when checking in and out). At first, they gave us key to room that already had occupants, when we got in that room people there were very angry. When I asked for new room, I received no apology and no explanation. For a 5-star hotel as they claimed to be, service was a huge dissappointment.

    “Everything is perfect except the staff services”

    I would say Amara is always my top choice in SG. Quite a shame the staff attitude and professional management is really disappointing. 1. My room been missed out for housekeeping, dialed #4 for housekeeping services no one picked up and I was forced to call concierge seeking support. The staff keep pushing back and hinting that’s not his unit even I politely asked him to help pass the message. The staff hung up my call without any response. That’s REALLY RUDE! I can’t believe that! 2. After we checked out, we would like to store our luggage. Been waiting for quite a while, other guests are lining up too. Concierge corner has no one at all, I had to approach reception to check if anyone gonna handle storage arrangements or how. The senior reception staff literally palm me off told us he’s busy with guest check in, without any willingness to help or at least explained the situation (no manpower, or supposed remind us to wait if someone else is handling the luggage). Ended up he finished the check-in process with the foreign guest, and started chatting mingle with the guest, ignoring all of us (7-8 guest )who are still clueless waiting with the luggage - like he don’t understand the priority or how to cope with the situation when lack of man power. He responded like he don’t care as concierge is not his job. The staff here definitely need a better training and improved the professional service - including support internally between the unit. Hope the management take this seriously.

    “Good hotel for 3-4 nights in Singapore”

    Great location for exploring Singapore. The room was more on the older side but still ok. Size of the room was good. More closet space would have been nice and also more hangers in the closet. The gym was well equipped but there was no desinfectant to clean the machines. Also one of two trademills was not working properly as it said every minute „no person detected“ and you were forced to press the ok button every minute otherwise the trademill would have stopped.     “Great rooms after renovations ”

    Really like new renovated rooms. Big, clean and very modern! Staff very friendly and helpful. Only issue I had room was very near lift and it was very noisy when people came back late or middle of the night.     “A night stay in Amara. ”

    Stayed in Signature King Room just my husband and I. Room was great. Clean and spacious. Toilet comes with a bidet and bathtub fits two. The TV however is a bit slow (not sure if its tv or controller fault) Room came with complimentary breakfast (not halal certified. Only ate bread and fruits. Still good tho) Went to breakfast and got told off by one of the staff because we were wearing the room slippers. She could have told us nicely but instead ‘scolded’ us like we were little kids and as if we were supposed to know of this dress code. Did not appreciate it that. We also did not know the complimentary parking was only 1/night. This meant that when we check out, we couldn’t get another comp because we already claimed one the night before to go out for dinner. Could’ve specified when we claimed our first. Or better, how bout just giving your staying hotel guests comp parking? Would recommend this stay only if you will be in your room with very little hotel staff interaction

    “No service recovery”

    Lobby was nicely decorated with many shops nearby, a mall and a supermarket just beside. Room was spacious and clean too. Staff were polite and service was okay. However, check in time was supposed to be at 2pm and even though we reached there at 3pm, they told us the room was not ready yet and asked us to come back in 30-45 min. We would have to wait for 1.5h if we arrived at 2pm? I enquired and the staff just said cus of high occupancy. No solution (i.e move to another room or upgrades) were suggested. Should have a protocol or backup plan for these type of situations. They let us check out an hour late. They should have let us check out 2h late since we only could check in 2h later than stated time. I asked if we could and the staff said unable to. In this aspect, service was not that good.

    “Nice and clean”

    It was a nice room in a convenient location, definitely felt new. However, the staff initially placed us in a room with double beds joined together even though we had selected a king bed. They changed the room for us after we went down to tell them, but they could have confirmed with us / communicated the room type beforehand instead (as we understand there are many other guests as well).     “Large room, needs to improve cleanliness”

    Stayed here for 2 nights last new year and it was pretty nice overall. I did wish they have faster check in process as it could take a while on busy days. The room we got is newly renovated, very spacious and the decors are nice and homey. I especially like the coffee area. Water pressure is great but might need better ventilation at the showers as it kinda smells like flooded/stagnant water inside the shower. Cleanliness can be improved, we discovered it was pretty dusty under the bed and we also encountered a huge cockroach inside the room. We killed it, so no worries 🤣 overall it was a nice stay, the breakfast spread was nice as well.

    “Fantastic stay with great service ”

    Our recent stay was exceptional. Clean rooms which were very spacious with a great layout. The location was perfect for exploring the city, going shopping and eating at the nearby hawker markets. We had a great nights sleep, the rooms were dark, quiet and the bed comfortable. My only suggestions was that the pool area needs a bit of a facelift and there were non functioning water features, the lifts were also very slow. Some more vegetarian and vegan options at the buffet also would have been welcome. Otherwise a great hotel and would stay again

    “Premium Executive Room”

    Spacious room and superb location. During my stay, the room was clean and not noisy despite it being on the same floor as pool/gym. Even though the floor is accessible by most if not all of hotel guests, I still felt safe. I find the hotel staffs very helpful too. I would recommend this particular room, just take note that the hotel is undergoing refurbishment. Personally, I wasn’t disturbed by it as I am usually not in the room during working hours.     We loved staying at the Amara. Tanjong Pagar is a fantastic spot for local food and other restaurants and shopping. The hotel is very close to the MRT station which is on the airport line. It is not far to walk to Chinatown or Downtown. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and professional. The room was very large and comfortable. The pool and gym were well equipped and clean.     “Perfect place for a family trip!!!”
