No Complaints, Great Stay
The Amarela is a nice little resort. The decor is fantastic, and probably has the most attention-to-detail I've seen at any resort in SE Asia. Food unlike other resorts we stayed in Panglao was actually very good (try the gambas), and the staff were always friendly and attentive. The beach is small, but spacious enough to enjoy... If we ever head back to Panglao this is where I'd stay.

Private resort with nice landscape
Unlike the traditional open resort, you will feel comfortbly nested in a private area here at amarela. beautiful architecture and interiors make our stay feels like home. nice and quiet balcony at 3rd floor overlooking the sea. Not so spacious room but so what.

BEAUTIFUL
Pros: The location is nice and peaceful, food is amazingly tasty and delicious! My partner and I stayed there for 3 nights and he ordered "halo-halo" every night. It was by far the most delicious halo-halo I must say, all the staff are friendly and approachable. During the Super blue blood moon, we requested to have a private dinner for 2 and since there were already someone booked by the beach we had ours at the balcony. We were both surprised to see a nicely styled table setting and area, kudos to the staffs who put an effort to make it as romantic as it was! All our requests were attended accordingly during our stay, I would suggest to request the top floor rooms as you can definitely see the water and it has the nicest sunset/sunrise view. Cons: The pillows weren't as comfortable, they felt like they were half filled with cotton and AIR. My partner and I would wake up with sore neck lol.

Happy times 😁
We were a little surprised on arrival but settled in quickly. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. The stairs to the beach were a little steep but we used the pool that had an excellent view. The restaurant staff and food was great and they catered for our large crowd. Our room was very clean and comfortable.

My only regret was not staying longer
A charming and rustic boutique hotel located along a long, quiet beach strip. Service was so warm, friendly and attentive. Every staff member really stops to take the time to say "hello" or ask if you need anything. The rooms were spacious enough with lovely little balconies facing the garden. Bathrooms were clean and decently equipped with lots of clean towels and some basic toiletries. Breakfast and airport transfers were included and an added value in my opinion to an already adorable place. We barely made it to breakfast which ends at 10am, but the staff accommodated us with freshly cooked pancakes and omelettes. The food was quite delicious and reasonably priced for a hotel, seafood was fresh and succulent, the mangoes were simply divine that season. This is my sixth time in Bohol, first time in Amarela, but I would seriously consider staying here again in the future.

Setting and seclusion good value; rooms not so much
Very pleasant resort. Well maintained. Seclusion and access to an excellent beach are pluses. Restaurant well situated with a good ocean view. Food was a bit above average. A minus was that the rooms are on the small side and are stacked on top of each other and close together, without the spaciousness and privacy that you would expect from a resort built on a secluded property. Some rooms do not have much of a view. Trip to and from Alona Beach can be a bit expensive.

Exceptional
Lovely resort. Place was beautifully filled with art and felt very Filipino (perhaps with Balinese influence too). The staff was very friendly. The library/game room was a nice touch. Room was okay, although the toilet has visibly aged. The beach was alright. Great that you can rent a kayak for free. Overall would highly recommend :)

A very relaxing experience
The hotel is quiet and remotely located, it's a out of the hustle choice. The staff is friendly and really looking to providing you as much comfort as possible. Small resort, but with a large range of facilities. The room was spacious, clean and simple. The hotel restaurant is rather pricy, but quite satisfying and will be your main spot as their will not be other options nearby. The hotel beach is a real beauty but not exactly a swimming spot. My overall experience was very satisfying and I would recommend it and comeback with pleasure.

Love Amarela!
I was only at Amarela one night because I had to catch a flight out, but oh how I wish I could've stayed. Love this boutique hotel. I had a room with an outdoor area overlooking the pool. The room itself was nice--I love the attention to detail they put in with all the fixtures and art, both in the room and all over the hotel. There are hammocks and loungers on the beach for guests. The water at the beach is really shallow for maybe 250 ft out, so if you want to swim, you have to wade out a ways. I didn't swim, so I'm not sure what it was like. I loved that the hotel had a library with dvds and books and games, and areas to sit and read or play games. The staff was incredibly nice, and they do provide free transfers to and from the airport or ferry. It's also really easy to book a tour through them if you want. I just wish it was a little bit less expensive to stay there, but overall it was a really lovely stay. I can't wait to go back.
