Stayed for 3 nights after a nightmare in a previous hotel. Fantastic setting and lovely big rooms. Lovely quiet pool set back just off the beach. Slightly further away from the busy Alona Beach - which suited us. Good range of tasty food. The staff were the highlight of the stay and a credit to the hotel. They couldn’t do any more for us. Overall a lovely few days. The only thing that I’d slightly criticise was that this hotel’s a little more expensive than others in the area.
The beach, pool and room were all beautiful. But I thought it was not worth 8k/per night.
Absolutely LOVED this place!”
Do yourself a favor and stay here! The property was stunning. Lots of greenery and beach views. The rooms were really lovely and the bathroom was spacious. The staff was excellent and accomodationg. The restaurant was very reasonably priced and had good food. The breakfast was on point as well! The hotel and staff clearly have studied hotel management and are executing well. We will be back!
Beautiful resort, perfect experience!”
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Amarela. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we enjoyed spending time in the dining room and library. We especially loved the hammocks on the beach!
See weeds galore and sea urchins”
The beach seems nice but there are tons of see weeds and sea urchins so better bring your slippers or aqua shoes when you explore and swim. Not great for kids. The resort is nice with great view but it may seem over priced for what it offer, I think.
the place feels very homie. The staff is very nice and accommodating.
Will be spending another birthday at Amarela because I enjoyed my first stay!
We had a good time, but be clear with your tour bookings through the hotel.”
I had a short trip to Bohol last weekend and booked my stay at Amarela for three days. The staff was super friendly and the entire place was a great quiet getaway. It really felt like staying at an old Filipino hacienda. The location was pretty good too. They have their own beach so you can chill there or you can take 15 trike ride to the main beach to eat and get drinks. The only downside was the boat tour that we took on the second day. The hotel said everything was included in the booking but the boat guys ended up extorting us for more money. They said we needed to pay more money (which we were told was included) to go snorkeling at the sanctuary we were at. We preferred not to get into an argument with the boat guys so we paid the extra 25 bucks to the guide. He then disappeared with one of the boat guys to split the cash. It was pretty obvious and soured our experience a bit. When we mentioned it to the hotel they just said they would look into it and didn’t do much else aside
Perfect location, beautiful beach, amazing food and super friendly staff”
Really pleased with the hotel. Is cute and very clean. The amenities are great and the easily accessible beach is beautiful and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food in the hotel is outstanding. The hotel is perhaps slightly expensive if compared to similar hotels elsewhere in the world but I think this is a Philippine’s problem and not the hotel’s as such.
Definitely recommend for those who seek quiet and peaceful time with beautiful natural surrounding. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to Alona beach, but it costs you only 150 peso to get there by tricycle, and more importantly, the private beach which was good to read, swim and take a nap was far better to me. The staff were really hospitable and all of the facilities were very clean and well maintained.
The staff, the food and the location was excellent. The wifi signal was strong in our room and they made our stay there very comfortable. The beach was awesome and we got a good view of the ocean from our room. The cons would be that they dont allow food from outside the resort, not even fruit from a fruit stand ! Check out was at 11 and they turned off our wifi at 7 am. I felt like they were trying to rush us out. We had buffet breakfast every morning except our last day, they didn't explain why. Sometimes I ordered something from their menu and they come back to ask me to order something else because they it said it wasn't available, that was kinda annoying. I would stay here again to enjoy the beautiful beach and the peace and quiet.
Our visit to Anarella was wonderful and beyond our expectations! Every corner and furniture in the hotel has unique character, as most of them had been from old homes. Staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. Private beach was quiet and landscape was beautiful!
Absolutely amazing hotel! Usually you come to the hotel and you realize that it’s not exactly as in the pictures. This hotel is the same but from a different direction. It looks better than in pics! The stuff is super nice, very good restaurant, amazing vibes, good location if you don’t plan to party... My only problem was that they don’t have mosquitoes nets around the bed. A little bit surprising for such a high end hotel. It’s not fun chasing mosquito at the middle of the night.
Relaxing stay, will come back!!!”
Hotel has airport or port transfer vice versa, inclusive of your stay. Even though it’s on a higher range but you will get what you will pay for and more. Pool is well- maintained. Staffs are very accommodating. Our room 403 has beautiful view
Their staff is very friendly, room was really good and they have well-thought of amenities. Our room has a nice view of the beach. They have tons of books and DVDs which you can borrow. Highly recommended resort if you want a peaceful and quiet vacation. For improvement: Breakfast buffet is a bit limited and can be tiring after 3 mornings.
Small resort. Breakfast was fine. Small pool. Very private amd quiet experience
Relaxed days in Amarela”
Located from Alona beach around 10 minutes drive, enjoyed a lot in a quiet place! The cleanliness of the private beach is not the best but good to have a place to relax & sunbathing. Had meals in the restaurant, view was good & food as well. Resort also offered free breakfast, and the breakfast was tasty too! Staffs were friendly, helpful and polite, very impressed. Room was clean and hot shower was great too!
Short but staff very helpful in my special needs for the moment”
I arrived with my friends with my fractured foot from the last resort . The front desk was very helpful in assisting me . Since I cut short my stay with them , and just stayed for a night to get immediate medical treatment on my foot, they helped me all the way til my trip back to Manila. Thank you,, especially to the driver which I missed his name , seeing to it that I got available wheelchair to assist me in the airport . I for sure will plan a trip to stay in your place again.. Thank you all !
Loved the view of the ocean and the beautiful sunlight in the bedrooms from the deluxe room. Staff were friendly, kind, and professional. Quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was also delicious. Lovely.
The Department of Tourism rated Amarela resort as a 3 star hotel. It has a pool, a library and a garden. The beachfront is kept clean by the hardworking staff of the hotel. Panglao's beachfront is a long stretch of powdery white sand. It's nice to walk barefoot on the shore but wearing aqua shoes is recommended when swimming. There are sea urchins in the area. You would easily notice that Amarela's beach front is the cleanest among the rest and the most quiet. Nearby resorts have loud karaoke machines. Low tide happens at around 3pm. Sad to say that there were several plastic wrappers, bottles on the beach and seaweed. The staff of Amarela do their best in cleaning their area. I just hope that people would be more environment conscious. There are areas "infested" with seaweeds but you just have to walk a bit further to enjoy parts where there is less seaweed. I saw a lot of starfish near the shore. My dad and I enjoyed swimming as early as 530am. The water was calm and not that shallow. The best part of our stay was the food in the hotel's restaurant. It was delicious and not pricey at all. Those who worked in the restaurant were attentive and accommodating. It could have been better if frontdesk was more attentive in setting expectations. I thought we had issues in checking out but turned out that we were waiting on other guests before we board the free van to the airport. The frontdesk personnel could have been more proactive. He could also smile a bit more. Overall, I loved our stay. Thank you, Amarela.
