Accommodating staff, friendly servers, especially Jason and Rocky. They always made sure we had everything we needed. Food was really good. Jessa from Front desk was helpful in arranging our tour. I love the ambiance of the place, tranquil and calm. I am looking forward to visit again.
Best Staycation place in Bohol, hands down”
Had a wonderful staycation in Amarela! The complementary airport shuttle arrived on time. Staff was very considerate to allow me to check in earlier than expected. The vibe of the resort was sensational. Definitely staying in Amarela on my next Bohol trip!
Stayed for 3 nights after a nightmare in a previous hotel. Fantastic setting and lovely big rooms. Lovely quiet pool set back just off the beach. Slightly further away from the busy Alona Beach - which suited us. Good range of tasty food. The staff were the highlight of the stay and a credit to the hotel. They couldn’t do any more for us. Overall a lovely few days. The only thing that I’d slightly criticise was that this hotel’s a little more expensive than others in the area.
We had the most memorable stay at Amarela Resort. Everything was amazing, from the property, to the food, and especially the staff. I would highly recommend this resort. The only thing to be aware of is that the property was built into the natural surroundings, meaning, it's not very wheelchair friendly. You definitely have to be in decent shape (think of climbing up and down steps) to get to rooms, pool, and private beach.
Beautiful resort with great service”
It was my first time to travel to Philippines. I had a really great trip in Bohol. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Shout out to Jenson, Tim and the girl with brace from Front desk ( sorry that I forgot the name). They are really nice and willing to help me. I definitely will come back. Highly recommend this resort, you won’t regret it!
Very nice facilities with kind staff”
Staff are helpful and kind. We rent a scooter from the island, if you don’t drive you will need to book a car for daily activities. Or you can get on the boat directly from the hotel beach. Which Is very good experience
One of the best ”
I wasn't really planning on booking Amarela resort but because of the positive reviews, I just have to let our family experience what other guests are saying about this resort. They have a complimentary airport transfer which not many resorts or hotels in Bohol would offer. The staff was VERY courteous and attentive. I made arrangements for our anniversary in advance and they did not fail me. It was very well set up, romantic and we had the beach to ourselves in a romantic set up. I could not say anything negative about the resort itself from staff to facilities (they have a volleyball area, beach bar, table tennis and darts, library and game boards which we enjoyed!) Food was superb too! If you are looking for something worth your money and you are after a silent retreat looking to de-stress, this is for you!! The place is not crowded which gives you some 'me time' I would definitely recommend Amarela and YES, I will be back!
Absolutely LOVED this place!”
Do yourself a favor and stay here! The property was stunning. Lots of greenery and beach views. The rooms were really lovely and the bathroom was spacious. The staff was excellent and accomodationg. The restaurant was very reasonably priced and had good food. The breakfast was on point as well! The hotel and staff clearly have studied hotel management and are executing well. We will be back!
Beautiful resort, perfect experience!”
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Amarela. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we enjoyed spending time in the dining room and library. We especially loved the hammocks on the beach!
1. One of the best places to stay in Panglao Island if you want peace and quiet or if you love nature 2. The best food! although a bit pricey but all worth it. We always look forward to having breakfast 3. Really a private one to the point that we had the pool all to ourselves as well as their private beach 4. Very clean rooms and surroundings 6. We suggest to put more effort in cleaning their beachfront
Will stay here again”
The place is perfect for family vacation. The staff were accommodating and polite. Kudos and special thanks to Carlo (Trainee/trainer) and Ritchie (the messenger) who helped me with me problem about shipping my printer to Manila. They went out of their way to help me even if it is not part of their job. The kitchen staff were also accommodating, they even agreed to slice the mangoes that we brought to the hotel and served it nicely during our dinner. Fruto, Jessa and Joan, the front desk personels helped us in many ways. They also helped me find a place to purchase pasalubong items on the way to the airport. They really treated me and my family like royalties during our stay. Thank you so much. You can do lots of activities in the resort...read books, borrow videos, kayaking, table tennis, darts, sand castle building and snorkeling.
The staff are so eager to please and literally run to you when you need help. The beach is a few meters away from the pool and there are so many activities eg ping pong, beach volleyball, snorkelling, you will want for nothing. We loved happy hour by the beach. The food was average and could do with some improvement. The beach is not a party beach and is quiet and exclusive to guests although Alona beach which has more dining options and night life is a mere $3 (Php150) trike ride away.
See weeds galore and sea urchins”
The beach seems nice but there are tons of see weeds and sea urchins so better bring your slippers or aqua shoes when you explore and swim. Not great for kids. The resort is nice with great view but it may seem over priced for what it offer, I think.
The staff, the food and the location was excellent. The wifi signal was strong in our room and they made our stay there very comfortable. The beach was awesome and we got a good view of the ocean from our room. The cons would be that they dont allow food from outside the resort, not even fruit from a fruit stand ! Check out was at 11 and they turned off our wifi at 7 am. I felt like they were trying to rush us out. We had buffet breakfast every morning except our last day, they didn't explain why. Sometimes I ordered something from their menu and they come back to ask me to order something else because they it said it wasn't available, that was kinda annoying. I would stay here again to enjoy the beautiful beach and the peace and quiet.
Our visit to Anarella was wonderful and beyond our expectations! Every corner and furniture in the hotel has unique character, as most of them had been from old homes. Staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. Private beach was quiet and landscape was beautiful!
Absolutely amazing hotel! Usually you come to the hotel and you realize that it’s not exactly as in the pictures. This hotel is the same but from a different direction. It looks better than in pics! The stuff is super nice, very good restaurant, amazing vibes, good location if you don’t plan to party... My only problem was that they don’t have mosquitoes nets around the bed. A little bit surprising for such a high end hotel. It’s not fun chasing mosquito at the middle of the night.
We had a good time, but be clear with your tour bookings through the hotel.”
I had a short trip to Bohol last weekend and booked my stay at Amarela for three days. The staff was super friendly and the entire place was a great quiet getaway. It really felt like staying at an old Filipino hacienda. The location was pretty good too. They have their own beach so you can chill there or you can take 15 trike ride to the main beach to eat and get drinks. The only downside was the boat tour that we took on the second day. The hotel said everything was included in the booking but the boat guys ended up extorting us for more money. They said we needed to pay more money (which we were told was included) to go snorkeling at the sanctuary we were at. We preferred not to get into an argument with the boat guys so we paid the extra 25 bucks to the guide. He then disappeared with one of the boat guys to split the cash. It was pretty obvious and soured our experience a bit. When we mentioned it to the hotel they just said they would look into it and didn’t do much else aside
Perfect location, beautiful beach, amazing food and super friendly staff”
Really pleased with the hotel. Is cute and very clean. The amenities are great and the easily accessible beach is beautiful and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food in the hotel is outstanding. The hotel is perhaps slightly expensive if compared to similar hotels elsewhere in the world but I think this is a Philippine’s problem and not the hotel’s as such.
Definitely recommend for those who seek quiet and peaceful time with beautiful natural surrounding. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to Alona beach, but it costs you only 150 peso to get there by tricycle, and more importantly, the private beach which was good to read, swim and take a nap was far better to me. The staff were really hospitable and all of the facilities were very clean and well maintained.
Good for those seeking quiet place”
