About this property

Description

Living up to a sterling reputation is often difficult, but this Koh Samui boutique resort certainly has done its part to keep people coming back. A location close to Chaweng, the island's trendiest beach, is a main selling point, but the Amari Koh Samui offers so much more. The rooms are traditionally and elegantly designed in the Thai style and guests can enjoy two swimming pools and a diving center that offers a variety of underwater adventures. Several high-quality dining options are on-site along with many more choices available in Chaweng. Amari Koh Samui is easy to book - just enter your travel dates on our secure online booking form.

Amazing resort
It's ine of the best resorts in Samui, right from check in to check out, the housekeeping staff are excellent. A pet of the hotel is alongside the beach and the garden wing is across the main road, the breakfast is good. I enjoyed my stay and will be back.

Nice and relaxing
My little one enjoyed the kids club. Lots of activities for her. Room was far from reception and breakfast but we got over it after checking in. Pool was big and way from the traffic. Lunchtimes during low season was difficult to find a nice place to eat. Taxis are mafia in samui be warned.

Not 4 stars but 3!
The hotel rooms are located on the other side of the street by the secondary pool, it's not very confortable. Not a four star hotel but a tree star hotel.

Hotel located next to toxic trash burning site
The hotel has very good location at Chaweng and a large common area (fitness, pool, lounge, coffee shop). However, the hotel is also located in front of a trash burning site. The toxic smoke from the site, which is right next to hotel, will spread to the hotel everyday during our stay. The smell left inside the room the whole day. The hotel staff helped to spray fragrance inside our room but it does not solve the problem at all because the toxic still remains. It is the biggest worry of this hotel especially you have any breathing issues or any kids.

Good Stay
Overall the hotel is nice place to stay but price may at the high side. Breakfast was good but kinda boring after few days stay at the hotel as they serve almost same food everyday. Be prepared to experience flies are everywhere and this is pretty common problem to beach resorts. Room is big and comfortable. Buggy service is available to ferry from Garden Wing to Beach Wing & vice versa. Beach may not suitable to swim as seagrasses and small stones are along the beachside. Sands are pretty fine. There are many eateries around that area but quite pricy, I suppose Samui is a tourist place. Free shutter bus to OZO hotel as they are (Amari) sister company. About 20-25mins walk to Central Festival Mall. While walking to Central Festival Mall, there are many retails you could stop by to do shopping.

Dirty Beach. Disappointment.
The location is not in central chaweng, so it's a little walk from where everything is and from the nice beach. Central chaweng has a nice and clean beach. The beach is not swimmable, full of green muck, dead branches, etc. Although most of the staff are nice, the staff at the reception desk in the daytime are rude, incompetent and argumentative (I'll spare you the stories). I will not stay there again.

Top of the line stay!
Be aware that any reviews over a year old are about the older Amari - now they have basically a brand new hotel. Everything has changed, for the better. I stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfast is terrific, lots of selection, not just western, but asian breakfasts as well. The fitness centre has the latest Lifecycle gear, everything you'd need. The hotel is on both sides of the main road, with a large pool on either side. I stayed on the "garden" side, which meant a stroll across the street to the main hotel lobby and to the beach. Beware the beach is really not a proper beach here, and there's warning signs about sea urchins if you dare go into the water. If you're hoping for a relaxing stay on a nice sandy beach, look elsewhere. I found the pool was more than sufficient however. A couple odd things - the rooms on the garden side are arranged as a labyrinth of individual huts and despite the signage, I found it was very confusing finding my room (and finding my way back out) for the first couple days, especially at night. To top it off, my particular hut had no light outside and it was extremely difficult to find the door in dark. Also, the bathroom, inexplicably, has no electrical outlets at all, which made using the provided hair dryer, or my electric razor, impossible to use (at least in the bathroom). This must have been an oversight and I hope that it is addressed next time I visit. And for sure, I'll stay here again!!
