We loved it
If you like Chiangmai/ Lanna culture and architecture this is a good place. Affordable price we paid around $100 AUD for deluxe room with breakfast. Nice decorations, garden and small swimming pool which is enough for 12 rooms. Our room got jacuzzi bath and we loved it. Breakfast very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good location. 20 per person on red taxi from/to anywhere in the city. Tips: 1. With the dark decorations they attract lots of mosquitos. Bring your own favourite scent insect spray. Spray them regularly even before you going to bed (and around the pillows) 2. If you like to sleep in the dark room. The curtains are not thick enough to stop the lights. There are no light switch in front of the rooms. We have to call staff every night to turn them off. You may still get the light from street but still one or two less will help you sleep :-)

Peaceful. Luxurious. Friendly
Delicious breakfast. Great room. Quiet
This is a small hotel with about a dozen suites. I got a good deal from Agoda so was really happy when I arrived and discovered I had a Jacuzzi. The rooms are a little dim and plagued with mosquitoes but you are warned about that. The staff gave me a little repellent plug in which worked and I did not get bitten. I appreciated their warning. Breakfast is served by the pool. Plenty of choice. They don't do food during the day but do not object to you getting your own and sitting by the pool and eating it, which is what I did. Staff were really lovely and politely quietened down several groups of Mainland Chinese tourists who, on arrival, took to yelling to each other as they checked in. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel to couples or someone on their own looking for some peace. As a side note it is next door to an excellent spa (Nakara) and less than five minutes walk Anantara which is a posh hotel with a great restaurant for more pricey cocktails and food. Also the market is just as close. Definitely worth the money.

Amazing people, terrible bed
The staff, the location, the charm
Lets start with the good. The staff is AMAZING. Seriously, so kind, so helpful and overall made this place feel like home away from home. We lovingly referred to one of the women as our "Chiang Mai Mamma". The hotel is quite charming. It looks just like the pictures - it's a little oasis. The location was great. Not in the "square" of Old Chiang Mai but so close to the river and a short walk away from the night market. The breakfast in the morning was perfect for me - eggs, meat of choice, toast, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, juice and coffee/tea. Everything was fresh and very nice. Those eggs were incredible. I wish we could get ones like that in the US! On to the not so great... these beds are hard as a rock. Seriously, it was like sleeping on the floor. The pillows unfortunately were not much softer. I'm a really good sleeper and I tossed and turned and never slept more than 2 hours simultaneously the whole time we stayed there (5 sleepless nights). Another weird but important thing is the towels were really rough. I'm guessing it's because they're air dryed but it kind of grossed me out. The final thing to note is that if they coordinate a taxi or trip for you, the price will be greater than if you set it up yourself. They take a small cut. I didn't realize this as it isn't a common thing in the US for a hotel to set up and charge a cab ride for you. We ended up paying about 400 THB more for a taxi because they called. Not the end of the world but not ideal. Overall, this place is great and the people are even better. It was super quaint, but the lack of a great bed ensures that I would not stay there again if I had to do it all over again.
