My husband, parents and I rented two rooms here and we're all very pleased! The location is perfect and within walking distance to most everything. They do provide breakfast however we chose to venture out most of our stay. I would definitely return!

The location was great for walking around old city to all of the best markets and temples. The room we were in was spacious, clean and well-kept. Overall the place felt a little dated but that was part of the appeal. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Only complaint was that it was slightly noisy on the ground floor.

Staff was very nice and helped us with arranging activities. Breakfast was good but nothing special and the location was close to the main strip but still far enough away for some peace and quiet. Overall you won't be disappointed with your stay here

I really love this place and wish we could stay longer. We're only there for one night. The location is ok if you don't mind a bit of walk.

Nice place, bad location and deceptive name led to problems”
The room was good and nice, but the name confused the taxi drivers, because they thought it was a big hotel named Amata Lanna. We drove around more than an hour trying to find the right place.

    Charming & Peaceful!!”
What a charming little find. What a great way to set the mood for a magical Thailand getaway. It was so lovely to return to the zen vibes of our cozy room after long days of exploring the sites. WiFi was good and breakfast was simple and delicious complete with fresh fruits (they offered eggs, rice, toast, and other things we don't generally eat but the fresh local fruit & coffee was perfect for us). For an extra special treat do take the 5 minute walk to the art clay garden coffeehouse up the street which serves delicious food and excellent coffee in a relaxing and stimulating garden setting - I highly recommend it!

Great little hotel in Thai tradition. Loved it”
There were 3 in our group. The room came with 2 large king beds in a large room with great balcony. There is a large shower but no tub in the bathroom. Beautiful courtyard where you can have breakfast outside & it was cool in the morning for our visit in March. The staff couldn't be more helpful & friendly. The only problems experienced was with laundry & motorbike rental. I had a t-shirt come back with an inked designed smeared & shiny pants from a too hot iron. They rented me a motorbike with over 70,000km which looked & ran like it. Just a little scary driving it.

    Value of the price”
Location wise, teb mibs walking distance to the centre of the old town which offers tons if vendors at nights, restaurants, shops etc and Sunday market. However, the lighting indoors is weak which is inconvenient for my father to shave. No lotion provided and bottled drinking water is provided to one person per one day so additional charge is applicable. Breakfast could be boring as there are only two choices. However, nothing special you could get outside as every hotel and every cafe in the old town sells the similar breakfast - toast with butter and jam, scramble egg or fried egg and coffee or cocoa. All in all, this hotel is recommended compared with the services and price.

thai style, clean and good location”
It is close to Saturday market and Sunday markets which is good for us as we could take break or take the things back to hotel after day trip or shopping. The staff are nice and the cleaning is done well. Only minor drawback, there is no shelter for the shower, so the floor of the whole washroom is wet after showers. If you need a supper quiet environment for sleeping, it may not be the best choice as the sound insulation could be better. Overall, we are satisfied with the hotel as they have friendly staff, good location and high cleanness. Thanks :)

Amazing to find such a comfortable room at such a cheap price, perfect to explore Chiang Mia from and close to everything you could want... or easily by tuk tuk. Forget the breakfast... eggs 2 different ways... go out and find some great local food around the area, the cafe on the corner is highly recommended.

    Perfect Chiang Mai home! ”
I've stayed in Chiang Mai before, in other hotels, but didn't love them so picked this one for my latest trip, with my girlfriend, and my mom, who was coming to visit us from Canada. It was the perfect choice! We stayed for 4 lovely nights. They gave us rooms across from one another (108 for my mom, which had a little balcony she could smoke on) and 107 for us (super nice, great bathroom - I recommend requesting this one!). The decor was so charming and authentic, bed was so comfy, and there were little bonuses like a mini fridge in the room. Loads of space, really quiet, and perfect location in the middle of the old city square meant it was easily accessible to everything. The price was really great value as well! The staff were very friendly and kind, and breakfast every morning was quite good - choice of eggs + toast, fruit + yogurt, etc.. The coffee was great! They also made us breakfast early one morning when we were leaving earlier than their breakfast time. I really loved it here and would absolutely pick this hotel again the next time I visit Chiang Mai! A+++!

    Location, Best Staff, Big Room
We booked the quad room which has 2 queen sized beds. The room furnishing is really nice. Overall the room is more than we have expected. The staff from the hotel reception is awesome beyond words. She accommodated our early check in and helped by showing us the way and direction for the places we want to go to. Since the hostel is located at the inner road, it has less noise. Wat Chedi Luang is 2 blocks away while the Sunday market is just 1 block away. Would love to stay here again.

    Location, staff, cleanliness
We stayed in this hotel during a break to experience the Loy Krathong /Yee Ping festival. The hotel is small in a quiet part of the old town, but only a 5 to 10 minute walk to Tha Pae Gate and the main shopping area. On Saturday there is a market close by called "Saturday walking street" and then on the otherside of the moat on Sunday there is a "Sunday walking street" with many bargains to be had. The staff were helpful and friendly, will certainly stay again, loved it!!

This is our second time to stay in the place this year. The staff are very freindly and helpful. Breakfast is good and you can enjoy a gallery which is located in the hotel. this boutique hotel has just opened this year and it's very new and nice. the boutique hotel comes with an art gallery which sells a lot of nice art pieces from the local artists. the hotel is small with only 6 rooms but it's decorated nicely at every details. the room is big and bed is comfortable. they serve american breakfast every morning but the lady boss would give us additional food that she bought like fruits or the sticky rice was really nice! the hotel staff is very friendly and they are very helpful if you want to book a local tour/activities. overall, it was a very pleasant stay and i would strongly recommend this hotel to my friends.

When I searched for this "Amata Lanna Jangmuang" on Google Maps, it showed the other Amata Lanna hotel (which is a better looking one). Even our taxi driver was confused; we headed there first and were told this is a new hotel and were given directions to get there. This hotel is more of a boutique, much smaller than the older one. Hope this can be corrected, we do not want to be misinformed. No complains about the quality of the room and service though.
