Good hotel”
If you are a traveller who is moving in to another state with lots of things in your car and stopped by Chicago, the location of the hotel is a safe place. Near to safe parking garages. Location is at the Uptown and if you like to walk, it is a little bit far from tourist attractions. Staff were nice and hotel is clean. Near to stores and restaurants as well.
Exceptional”
Great location ..nice staff...comfy beds..will definitely stay here for my next trip to Chicago..
Nice area within walking distance ”
The hotel was clean and the staff was wonderful however, the bathroom was super small with a gas station toilet you use your foot to flush. I can deal with the platform bed but the bathroom would make me choose a different hotel altogether. The value for what we paid is definitely there but the bathroom leaves me totally put off
Exceptional”
The check in process was a little slow. Check in was at 3, we arrived a little after 3 and there were no rooms available yet. This comes after wandering around the city for a few hours because our train arrived at 1230, we knew it would be to early to Check in. They did let us store our luggage while we waited which was nice. The lady at the counter was super nice and comped us a drink. The room was very plain and small. We did have an issue with the a/c but it was resolved quickly. The bar service was terribly slow. We waited for 30 minutes for someone to take our order,20 more minutes for a drink and never could get her to come back so we could pay and leave. We ended up putting money on the table and walking out. All in all a good visit and an fantastic location.
Luxurious stay”
Pros - clean, beautiful, luxurious, room near Rush Street and delicious restaurants provided umbrellas during a heavy rainfall Cons - no coffee in the room, water was $4 a bottle, and an unnecessarily huge selection of hard liquor instead Waited too long for an elevator because they were only two and they were too small and already full Walls are thin and we could hear someone snoring next door during the middle of the night and people talking and kids crying late at night Overall, the room is beautiful and luxurious, and the neighborhood is residential, gorgeous and calm. You can reach popular establishments within a five minute walk. I recommend that you bring earplugs and water bottles.
Perfect weekend away”
We were able to get to the hotel with ease. Parking, check in and location was so easy. The hotel was older but very beautiful inside. Our room was clean, cool and the perfect size for us. We will be back to this hotel, as the neighborhood was perfect to walk around in.
Exceptional”
A beautiful, historic hotel in a beautiful, historic neighborhood. Convenient to all the cultural, sports, and entertainment attractions (like the Art Institute, Wrigley Field, Navy Pier, etc.), as well as all the fashionable stores and restaurants.
Great visit, great location to Lake Michigan, Old Town...more of a neighborhood feel.”
Hotel staff was excellent especially Natalie at the front desk, so helpful, sweet and kind. Only weird thing was, hotel charges your credit card 100.00 a day for incidentals and then reimburses your card the balance of the 100.00 in 5-7 business days.
A Bit Tired”
The staff is excellent and we enjoyed the location. The lobby is beautiful and there are many beautiful design elements. That said, the room was a bit tired. We had a damaged ceiling, chipping paint and missing veneer from much of the furniture. The concept is strong but the Ambassador needs a refresh.
Zero parking unless you pay 65 ”
You can’t park at the hotel unless you pay 65.00 usd per night . Zero parking on the street. You will be towed and ticketed. Besides parking the hotel is Perfect the staff are super friendly and really enjoyed the stay. Really close to everything!!!
Laver Cup weekend ”
The hotel is in quiet area. We loved the hotel, the restaurants are good and the rooms have everything you need. I would definitely stay there again.
Excellent hotel”
A beautiful hotel in a great area. Large rooms but very small bathrooms.
Exceptional”
Excellent hotel. Great neighborhood. High quality hotel. However, didn’t find too many vegetarian options for breakfast.
Exceptional”
The location was excellent; it was close to restaurants, the L and many other places. It is located in a very walkable area. Unfortunately, the beds were rather low and on the soft side.
Ambassador Chicago is just okay.”
Room was great. Location is great. I enjoyed this experience more than my last experience here when it was an Ian Schrager hotel however, the staff sort of ruined it at the end. Doubt I will be back...but who knows.
location is best, price is better”
location is best , price is better
Excellent”
Great location, room was adequate, nice lobby and the bar area with Pump Room pictures was fun....
Back to the Hotel”
Not the same as when The Public but similar. No The Pump Room is a real shame. Otherwise, same lovely location and real estate.
Location good , bathroom plumbing and aircon too loud. ”
nice location shower handle kept falling plumbing too loud can hear next door Airconditioner dated and too loud had to switch off as could not sleep staff friendly hotel rooms do not provide complimentary water lobby nice beds ok modern touches need to be improved for the rates i paid
Excellent”
Con, no good breakfast. Everything was an extra cost. If you don't drink coffee or tea why on earth would you have to pay extra for orange juice? Bar food was good.
