Real 4 Star standard Hotel on Sukhumvit Bangkok.”
A regular visitor to Thailand I stayed in the excellent Ambassador Hotel on Soi 11off Sukhumvit this time. I say excellent because the standard is exactly how a €40+ per night 4 star in Bangkok should be.The Ambassador is a big property with many amenities. The reception area is huge and the staff are friendly and efficient. My luggage was taken from the Taxi and appeared in my room within minutes of me entering my room. The initial impression you get when you walk in to the reception area is 5 star but the rooms put it firmly back in the second division. They are not bad but quite basic. Everything works and at this price you can't ask for more. The WiFi is free and strong but does require constant re-entering of passwords which is annoying at first but you get used to it. Room cleaning is efficient and flexible. Long low timber ceiling corridors give it a kind of old cruise liner feel. Restaurants, Bars, Massage studio, Gym, Tailoring shops, health spa and several coffee shops are among it's many features. And of course that great location close to everything. Some of the best restaurants in Bangkok are here. The very expensive but superb El Gaucho Steakhouse, one of 2 in the area, is right next door. For Mexican try the Coyote across the road. And round the corner the Firehouse serves the best burgers in Bangkok. An Aussie Bar also across the road serves up the traditional full breakfast. I would recommend the Ambassador as a budget hotel without hesitation.
Ambassador saved our Girls Trip ”
When we arrived at the Ambassador hotel Bangkok we felt relieved due to a unpleasant experience at another hotel in Bangkok. The staff were both helpful and accommodating at the Ambassador. The amenities such as the health centre were great! I had searched everywhere for yoga but I am happy to have learned of the yoga class with Yuuppa. It was just what I needed to end a 15 day trip in Thailand. I wish I knew of this at the beginning of my 4 day stay. The only Con was there was a large group on the 7th floor that were very noisy. In addition there was construction but I managed to sleep right through it. The hotel is within walking distance to the BTS and there is restaurants and night clubs just steps from the hotel. The rooms are nice if anything upgrades recommended to the washroom such as Ceiling, shower etc..Overall, my experience at the Ambassador Hotel Bangkok was exceptional and If I return to Bangkok it will be the first place I stay.

Great stay at the Grand Old Dame of Sukhumvit”
for the price this must be the best room in sukhumvit. the hotel itself is a welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of sukhumvit 11 - which is itself a great place to explore. soi 11 must be my favourite street in bangkok great bars like cheap charlies and the volkswagen cocktail bars parked up along the street, restaurants like rosabieng and the one a little further down in a traditional wooden thai building, clubs further down like bed superclub and the nest - rooftop bar in the felix hotel...theres also the liveliest club in the area every night in the basement of the ambassador - climax - a short stumble to the elevator that takes you to your room at the end of the night. the view we had of the sukhumvit area from our room around nana and ploenchit was amazing! the hotel has a decent pool and strangely - an aviary with loads of exotic birds! we had no problems with the staff we encountered although slightly bemused by the baht deposit you have to stump up up front to cover mini bar tab etc....all in all a great place to stay with just about everything you might need right on your doorstep and a short stroll from the sky train....
Comfortable Rooms in a Great Location”
i've been to bangkok many times and stayed at various places in the sukhumvit area. due to a recommendation from a friend who lives and works in bangkok, i decided to give the ambassador a try. i'm very glad i did! this will surely be my go-to hotel whenever i go to bangkok from now on. the location is wonderful. it's right in the center of the sukhumvit action, but is far enough down soi 11 that you don't get any noise. the famous cheap charlies bar is right across the street, and there are plenty of other restaurants, markets, massage parlours, banks, etc. right next to the hotel. the rooms are sufficiently comfortable- no complaints. there is also a nice pool and gym available. overall, this hotel is affordably priced for both short and longer stays in bangkok.
Can't wait to be back...Yet Again!”
ambassador hotel is an old property on soi 11, sukhumvit, which i have had the privilege of staying at, on more than 4 separate occasions. so i finally get to write a review on my fifth stay here, which i am sure proves how much i like the property! that said, the biggest draw of the hotel is its location on soi 11, close to practically everything you would desire, be it food options or night life. further, the staff is immensely friendly - always, and i get everything that i need at this hotel, without any qualms - massage parlors galore right outside, 7-11 and villa market for all your day to day needs, climax nightclub in the basement (not highly recommended though) head straight to places like bossy for that, with a free taxi ride from ambassador hotel). internet access was an absolute breeze (not free though, but only 399 baht a day) through a lan connection. finally, we were two single males on this trip and the hotel conveniently assigned us with two rooms on the fifth floor which are interconnected to one another from the inside - how thoughtful and useful! i will surely be back very soon!!
Agoda's Best Discount”
It was Agoda's generous discount that I got a privilege suite worth for money. I think this what the member benefit. Thank you Agoda. You're improving more and more. On the Ambassador Hotel Bangkok, I know this hotel since year 2000 and frequent guest. The hotel is always best at it's location, friendly staff, they let your smile from the beginning at the registration counter. The bell man handle the luggage protectively when you step out of the limousine or taxi. They have renovate all room few years ago and their maintenance are good. I have only one complaint which they can improve immediately, they took deposit but there were nothing inside the refrigerator, I know 7-11 is just across the street and many food and beverage outlets surrounding the hotel and the enjoining food market is one of the finish supplies for foreign traveller. Funtastic!!! So improve the refrigerator's stuff, don't just be empty. Thank you Agoda and Ambassador Hotel Bangkok. I will come again and again.
Enjoyed our Stay at Ambassador Hotel, Bangkok ”
The Ambassador hotel, Bangkok located at Sukhumvit, Soi 11, close to Nana Sky Train station and all amenities. The hotel is also located steps away from amazing eateries, shops and big malls. During our recent visit, we stayed at Tower Wing, 22nd floor. with nice view, large room with all modern facilities. Good Wifi and hose keeping service. Whenever we travel to Bangkok we always stay this this hotel. In fact we are staying this hotel for last many years and most of the time get up-gradation as return guest. Reception staff are helpful. Variety choice of Breakfast, but need more Halal Foods as most of the guests from Bangladesh, India and Arab Countries ( mostly Muslim ). It was an excellent stay - we will return again like always.
Although not by any means a new Hotel The Ambassador hotel is bright and modern. An unusual feature of the entrance, reception and public areas is the amazing feeling of the space available, something now lacking in its modern counterparts. The uniformed staff are quick to respond to your slightest need and are always on hand to offer directions or advice. Most of the staff are competent English speakers with some other languages I did not recognise being spoken as well. The hotel is well situated close to the Nana BTS station. Car parking, swimming pool, gym, and multiple choice restaurants are all provided or close-by to cater for every culture and taste. The standard rooms have all been recently upgraded and modernised to provide spacious and comfortable accommodation. The suites available in the tower wing not only give a wonderful view of busy Bangkok , space and luxury abound with additional staff on hand to cater for all your needs. I have used the Ambassador on many occasions for both business and pleasure trips to Bangkok. I find the location (a relatively traffic free drive from the new airport) close to all the bright lights and transport of all kinds relatively close by. It is even situated opposite a 24 hour convenience store! I can not fault the hotel and recommend it to everyone. Especially worth a mention is the truly international buffet breakfast, an excellent way to start any day.
Thoroughly recommended 10 out of 10 with distinctions!”
The Hotel is situated in the heart in the heart of Sukhumvit and has everything you expect and want from the area, with Nana BTS is within walking distance. I’m a frequent visitor to Bangkok and not surprisingly I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, but by far, the Ambassador Hotel beats the rest in quality of service, location and staff hospitality. It is my hotel of choice. Checking in and checking out is a breeze - I can leave my room at 5:00 pm, return at 6:00 pm knowing that room service has done a sterling job of tidying up. Breakfast is a self-serving buffet and you can eat as much as want with diverse range options including Asian, European and Halal. Facilities including the gym, swimming pool and room are excellent - essentially, everything works, and works well. Whether you’re a family or solo traveller, seeking a basic room or superior, the hotel caters for everyone. I can only say good things about the Hotel because that is the reality of my experiences.
Ambassador Hotel and Conventions”
The Ambassador Hotel and Conventions is just off Suhkumvit Rd. and has a very impressive Foyer and reception area, Large restaurant, bar and lounge areas. Huge Convention area and a very nice coffee shop. The rooms are quite large and well equipped and the hotel is within easy walking distance to the skytrain. The staff were all very polite and helpful, the only drawback was that we ordered a Limousine to take us to Hua Hin and were told the best price for the return to Bangkok Airport a few days later was 6200 Bart and it would take 4 hours to get from Hua Hin to the Airport. A friend who lives in Bangkok told us that the outside price should have been 3000 Bart. When the driver of the Limousine came to pick us up at 7a.m. we discovered he had driven all the way from Bangkok and had only had 2 hours sleep. We tried to make conversation with him to make sure he kept awake and the journey to Bangkok Airport only took two and a half hours.
Tower is awesome! Main wing not so much... -_-”
I've stayed at The Ambassador a few times now. Each time I come to bkk, I try different hotels along with staying here. I always find myself wanting to just come back to The Ambassador. There is a great grocery store basically connected to the complex. A 7-11 across the street. Street food all around. Restaurants abundant with live music at night. My favorite foot massage place is across the street and only 250 baht. Soi 11 is a Soi that never sleeps. The hotel is big so the buffet has a wide selection of Thai, Indian and western food and sometimes live piano music in the background. But here's the deal. I've always booked in advance for a great deal and have gotten the tower. I needed to extend my stay this time and the only available room was in the main wing. Last minute I paid the same price for a room that felt less than par. The shower water was only hot half the time. The dirty stained shower curtain blew past the low basin, soaking the floor for each shower. The elevators were old, hot and smelled. I was on the 5th floor and could hear the action from the street on the night I wanted to sleep early. Nothing was inviting about the standard wing, but you still had location. Long story short, Ambassador feels like a home away from home but I will never make the mistake of booking the main wing. Now I know tower only!
easy & comfortable hotel in great location”
this is my second time staying in the ambassador, and it was a good decision to come back! when put together the location and price of the ambassador. located just a minute's walk down soi 11 off of sukhumvit, you are right in the heart of bangkok. shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and the skytrain are nearby. the rooms aren't overly spectacular, but they are well kept and comfortable- no complaints. other amenities are available like a gym and swimming pool which are nice, also. i will definitely be staying at the ambassador again when i'm in bangkok.
A perfect hotel for me!”
As a returning customer over many years, I have only good things to say about The Ambassador Hotel, easy accsess to Bangkok wherever You need to go- Nana Skytrain station is just outside soi 11 on Sukhumvit rd. You can walk to Siam centre which is quite popular with tourists. The hotel has exellent service and get yourself a tower high floor room and you have the whole Bangkok Skyline which is an amazing sight at night!! All in all The Ambassador is great !! Try it out...
Great Location, Comfortable Rooms”
The Ambassdor is now my go-to hotel in Bangkok. I've only stayed in the older wing of the hotel since that's the one that gives the great discount rates. The rooms are fine, though. The hotel is right in the heart of Sukhumvit, so everything you need is within walking distance (Sky Train, bars, restaurants, shopping, etc.). Check-in and check-out are always quick and easy. The swimming pool is nice and the room service food was pretty good, too. All in all, if your looking for a nice hotel in a great location at a great price, the Ambassador should be your choice!
Would i do it again? Absolutely.”
The ambassador, although somewhat frayed around the edges, is a great hotel and probably the best deal in Bangkok, at least when you book through agoda. The rooms are spacious, immaculate and extremely well maintained. The staff is friendly, polite and efficient. Everything you need is either right there or within a 5-10 minute walk. The neighborhood is very cool with lots of inexpensive food, massage, music and internet right outside the hotel. Internet in the business room can get a little expensive. I can't speak for the food although room service, for the few things i ordered, was fast and on the money. I would absolutely go back (and will be returning for a week later in the year) and have recommended it to several close friends. I see no reason to stay anywhere else unless you are in bangkok to see the river, temples and palaces, all quite distant from the hotel.
Reasonable priced, quiet hotel at good location”
I was surprised that the hotel is located closed to night market and BTS station. The hotel is relatively quiet despite it's location in the city centre. The room is very spacious and it comes with free WiFi access. My stay at Ambassador Hotel is pleasant as the room is very spacious and quiet. The hotel has a big convention centre where several business functions and meetings can be held concurrently. The hotel also has a small shopping arcade complete with several tailor shops, souvenior, pharmacy and convenience stores. The hotel is also located close to Terminal 21 Shopping Complex where many international and local cuisines are available in 4th and 5th levels of the shopping complex. Due to the on-going political demonstration in Bangkok, the hotel room rate has come down substantially to well below my booking rate. That's a small regret for booking the room too early.
Ambassador Hotel Sukhamvit Soi 11”
I recently stayed at The Ambassador Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 11 for the second time. If you are travelling to Bangkok for shopping, sight seeing or medical care the location is excellent, an easy walk to popular places and the Nana Skytrain station. This is a real bonus if you want to avoid sitting stationary in a taxi in Bangkok’s terrible traffic. It is close to major centres like Central World Plaza, Siam Square and the Emporium. The sois are connected so it is cheap and easy to go by taxi to Panthip Plaza, Pratunam, Khao San Rd, Bumrungrad Hospital etc and weave through rather than sit in unmoving traffic on the main roads. The best thing about the hotel is the big, clean outdoor pool. There is well shaded in the heat of the day, plenty of space round it and a good bar and snack service, including great ice cream and sorbet. The hotel spa is good too, but you need to bargain them down in price. There are many massage places nearby for tired feet. The Ambassador is back off the main road in a lane (soi) so even though it is central it is still quiet. There are a lot of cafes and small restaurants on the lane and nearby, a night market sets up on the street at night and there is a supermarket 20 metres from the front door and several 24 hour mini marts very close by. The hotel has been refurbished since last time I was here and the rooms my friends and I were in were modern, clean and well equipped with tea and coffee, hair dryer, cable TV etc with quality bed linen and towels and everything in working order. The water was always hot and it was no drama to get extra towels and pillows. This is a good tourist hotel, very big (700 rooms) so there are plenty of staff to get things done quickly. The safety deposit box room was staffed 24 hours and very secure. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for somewhere clean and cool to come back to at the end of a hot, busy day in Bangkok. The food is not great though.
I have never been to Bangkok and stayed at the Ambassador per the suggestion of a friend. When I walked into the lobby, I thought it was grand. The chandeliers were beautiful and the hotel looked clean. The staff behind the counter were very friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I enjoyed room service for breakfast and dinner at a very affordable price. There are also several restaurants within the structure of the hotel if you want to venture out of the room for a meal. If I return to Bangkok, I will be sure to stay at the Ambassador again.
Grand Hotel at a Small Price!”
for the reasonable amount of money that you pay for this hotel, you'll definitely get your money's worth! ambassador hotel is located in sukhumvit soi 11 which is in the center, a minute walk to bts sky train nana station. i never thought that it was a grand hotel with pool and amenities. there are restaurants nearby and 7/11 right across so it's very convenient when you want to buy something. there are lots of taxis in the area so there's no problem going around the city at night. i'll definitely stay again in ambassador hotel should i go to bangkok in the future.
I had read some negative reviews prior to my arrival at the Ambassador, so I was a little apprehensive. However, upon arriving, the staff was very pleasant, professional and efficient and my check-in went very smoothly. I was very happy with my room and the services provided by the hotel were excellent! The hotel's central location is also an added plus. I will definitely stay at the Ambassador Hotel the next time I visit Bangkok.
