Charming hotel in a great location”
My family and I were very pleased with our stay. Not only was Prague very beautiful; our hotel contributed to our memorable stay. It is located at the heart of Prague's Old Town, which boasts of good shopping alongside lovely landmarks. The hotel is just several minutes' walk away from the lovely Astronomical Clock Tower and the scenic Charles Bridge. There are good restaurants just a few meters away. For those so inclined, the hotel has its own casino. Special mention goes out to two persons from the front desk and the concierge who were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a very good hotel.
A decent hotel along the widest street in Prague”
The location of the hotel is great and it's not a small boutique hotel. Walk to the Old time square takes you about 5-7mins. Hotel is probably there for many years, nice old historic building into a hotel with old elevator; kinda cool. Room has wifi and room has old classic layout and design unlike the modern ones. It brings you additional sensation that you're right in the heart of Prague. It could be due to the old building design, sound proofing is pretty bad. Easily disturbed by neighbours opening / closing doors or walking along the corridor. I stayed on level 2 and smell from the kitchen flows into our room all the time.
Excellent overall although my room had no air conditioning and was a little too hot - being on the 2nd floor meant that it was a little too noisy to have the window open. Overlooking the crowded street has both advantages and disadvantages. The staff were a little thin on the ground when checking in and checking out and access to the baggage store took a little longer than one would have expected. Overall my stay was excellent.
Centrally controlled A/C was not in use, thus it was a bit hot for me in the room. Since my room was at the 1st floor, it was not very confortable to leave the windows open. Other than that, it was an excellent hotel.
good location with cozy room”
This was my third visit to prague. It was quite close to the all tour spots in Prague. A friend of mine took me from airport to hotel, he said that only taxi can access just in front of the Hotel. This was little bit weird. Regarding hotel, it was so nice.
Good Location, nice Hotel, Not 5 Stars”
The hotel Location is great, you are walking distance to the main attractions, the rooms are large, with nice bathrooms and the breakfast is a Plus. Is Ok for the Money you pay. Avoid asking the night host (Derek) for any recommendation or to get a TAXI for you. He will only call someone he has business with and charge you double, just be aware of it. Beside him all other Hotel personal seems nice. Do not expect a 5 Stars Hotel Service. Beside this incident we have a blast, we were travelling 2 couples with kids and is was a nice experience.
Nice convenient location, good hotel ”
Staying here for a night, at first they gave us the smoking room even we chose non-smoking. They changed it for us thereafter. The room is neat and clean, the location is closed to everything in walking distance. The breakfast is good.
Great location, great value ”
At first we thought the hotel looked a bit old and dated. However, the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very big and clean. The breakfast was superb. Overall a great experience and thoroughly recommend it!
Located centrally in Prague!”
This hotel is on the north end of Wenceslas Square, and less than 40 minute trip to the airport via local bus and metro. The rooms are very large and comfortable, however some have a/c and some do not. This region generally needs no a/c, but if you are there in a heatwave or you want some quiet you might want to close the windows and remain cool. Service was top notch, and the complimentary breakfast is worth waking up early for!
Great service, central location!”
Ambassador Hotel is a nice and versatile property. Location is good for touring, business, or excitement. I had a junior suite and it was huge. Make sure to ask for a room with A/C if there is a heatwave or you do not want to open the windows. One thing, 5-star is different across regions so do not expect a pool (though it usually doesn't get hot enough here) or a gym. I was disappointed there was no gym in a 5-star. Service was great though.
Top notch service, great location”
The staff was absolutely awesome here. very knowledgeable and willing to help regarding the local sights, ways to get a reputable taxi, etc. There were several things that went wrong with my room, and each time in less than 3 minutes someone was there to fix the issue, no matter the time of day. The breakfast is satisfying and was from 6-10am to fit every schedule. The location is central to most of the sights of Prague, and shopping and nightlife are less than 10 minutes walk. I would definitely stay here again!
Paid less than for the night and thats a good price (even for an inexpensive country such as Czech Republik) You need your reservation to be able to drive all the way up to the hotel (at times) when the close down the street.
easy to walk to any place. The room is nice and reception is very friendy I would recommend friends to stay over at the hotel. All equipment are in good condition. big bath room and the most important thing is it's easy to walk to all tourist attraction. It also located in the safe area so there is no problem if we walk at night.
You Can't beat this!”
We loved this hotel! Great location (walking distance to everything but the castle; nice size room with wonderful view of the street;abundant and delicious breakfast; relaxing spa downstairs. This was our 1st time in Prague and we will certainly be back.
Too many tour group with only a small elevator. Breakfast is not as good as a 5 star hotel should be.
wifi was weak. good breakfast and location. nice staff. hotel lobby smelled of cigarette smoke everywhere. though I was OK with my stay, I would say it's a 4 star hotel and not 5.
extra large room”
Stay away of this hotel”
Don't ruin your trip to Prague by staying in this hotel. Very dirty very stingy owner and very rude staff. This hotel can never be close to 3 star hotel and they claim it is 5 star hotel by betting on the stupidity of their customers. I have been traveling since 1992 and have been all over USA, and Canada. In addition I travelled to Mexico, U.K., Greece, turkey, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Morocco, South Africa, and Azerbaijan. I can say with no hesitation that this hotel is among the worst that I have been at.
Standard room..good location.”
Good for location, breakfast and connection with transports. Small room but nice and classic. Bad for crowded and small lifts. Need to use stairs most of the time. Cleaning staff sometimes forget to fill up hotel amenities...
its almost 4stars ”
staff hardly speaks English , Air condition was poor its almost not functions its small portable A/C dropping water inside the room which make carpet wet . i believe agoda should not show AC among hotle facility as its miss leading site members
