We had such a pleasant stay ! The staff walked all the way to our car to greet us and carry our bags the moment we arrived. They also respond super fast whenever we needed a shuttle as our room was high up. The food was amazing, we had the whole fish bakar with air asam as well as the skewers. We loved our room so much ! We got the canopy studio, it came with a partial sea view which was so so serene. The room is also super clean and they even knocked our door to ask if we needed room cleaning without us requesting for it. The breakfast was also super worth it we got the local set and the wholesome set. Wish we could’ve stayed here longer, would definitely come here again ! :)

Excellent stay”
We spent six nights at Ambong Ambong during our holiday in Asia and would highly recommend the place. Everything was really clean and the location is amazing in the middle of jungle and accompanied by monkeys, birds an other wildlife but also very close to the beach and services. Since the hotel is located in a hill the views from our balcony to the beach were really beautiful. Hotel provided you a lift to the town, beach or even picked you up for breakfast if you did not feel like walking. The service all in all was exceptionally good, staff were really friendly and always ready to help you and even brought complimentary fruits and water to the pool. We really enjoyed our stay.

Superb”
Stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. Would have liked to have stayed longer. The unit was perched on the side of a hill in the rainforest with views to the ocean. A lot of effort went into leaving the surrounding flora undisturbed. There were monkeys and other wild animals - truly felt like you were living in the jungle. The unit itself, Rebak, was clean, comfortable and well laid out with a balcony to stare out into the distance. 5 stars have to be awarded to each and every member of staff, especially Faz, who took the effort to make us feel welcomed and at home, even though this was our first visit. I cannot commend them highly enough. Will return undoubtedly.

This place really is something special. The location is spectacular, the accommodation is beautifully presented and very spacious and the service, without exception, is superb. You just need to relax and the staff at Ambong Ambong will take care of everything for you. There is a very efficient transport arrangement to take you to nearby restaurants or the beach. The onsite restaurant is superb, the food is really tasty, the service is very attentive and you are made to feel very much part of their 'family'. The view at sunset from the restaurant is incredible. There is plenty to do on Langkawi but it will be tempting to sit on your balcony or by the pool and take in the beautiful views and the lush tropical rainforest. We had a couple of treatments at the spa which is adjacent to Ambong Ambong, they too were excellent. We had an amazing week at Ambong Ambong and would definitely recommend it and will be going back for more!

Perfect experience”
We had a wonderful holiday in the hotel Ambong Ambong Langkawi. All the staffs are super nice and helped us all they could. They offered free taxi to take us every day to the town, and also organized a nice Christmas party. The room is clean with a great sea view, and the swimming pool is among the trees, very quiet. The breakfast is good, with fresh fruits and drinks. If you want a different place than the big hotels, this is the ideal option. I will definitely return back someday and recommend it to my friends.

Upon arriving at Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat, rest assured of an ambiance within nature that will remain with you a lifetime... the ultimate in luxury and service, this beautiful boutique hotel offers far more than you would imagine or hope for from a small intimate location... being small enables a personal and memorable stay with superb service far beyond expection and that which you might get from bigger established hotels... on our stay we were greatly impressed by the personal service, whereby staff knew your name, ensured your absolute wellbeing and whereby nothing was too much trouble... the accommodation was superb, I can personally recommend the 3 storey cottage which surpassed expectation... having a driver available to drop and collect us within a defined area in Langkawi was an added bonus which was a beautiful and helpful surprise... food also was delicious and varied, with freshly cooked breakfasts and beautiful food with sunsets to die for at nearby Rimba.

Booked 7 nights here, extended for 2 more as we liked it so much. The staff went to great effort for my boyfriends 40th birthday. Good location, perfect rainforest retreat, 5 mins walk to beach, nice food, very clean rooms with all amenities, friendly personalised service from the staff. Small locally operated family hotel in Langkawi. Owners are well known in the community. If you want to be pampered and enjoy a unique experience in Langkawi I highly recommend you stay here. They have an amazing breakfast menu, freshly made meals. Not like other hotels which only offer a standard buffet. The staff are impeccable and cater to ensure your experience in Langkawi is a memorable one. The staff here will help you navigate the island and can recommend activities, restaurants and stores during your stay in Langkawi. Hotel is surrounded by wildlife and has amazing views of the ocean. Each set of rooms here are nestled on the hillside within the forest. If you have issues with mobility, you may want to consider a more typical boring hotel. If you enjoy the outdoors and walking, hiking then you will enjoy Ambong Ambong. The staff will transport you to your villa if you're too tired to hike.

Excellent Stay”
Would definitely recommend this hotel!! The staff is very nice, they always push theirself to give the best 5 stars service. Love the swimming pool, breakfast time, spa and also the room itself. We even extend our stay to 1 more day because we feel its not enough time here. Would definitely be my go-to hotel anytime im in Langkawi. Just I wish the system of calling the driver to pick you up could be better as there’s lot of waiting time, I wish the cars would be around and can just fetch us anytime. Anyways, good job Ambong Ambong for providing good service!

Friendly and home atmosphere”
This is one place you will easily feel is a home away from home. The staff are so friendly especially the GM Randy and staff Hakim, Aiman & Lee. They try and anticipate your needs and go out of their way to accommodate. Our room was nestled away in the forest and you truly feel you have the privacy of a rainforest retreat. From our room we had a great view of the sea. We also had great unobstructed view of the sea and the sunset from the main lobby patio and you can have your evening drinks and dinner there as well. Amazing place, staff and stay!”
The Ambong Ambong reainforest retreat is an amazing place to stay! The retreat is located on a hill which is quite steep, but the amazing staff is always ready to pick you up down the hill to bring you to the room. The rooms looks amazing and the view is very nice. Furthermore, the rooms are located in the rainforest and therefore you are surrounded by monkeys which is really nice. I can recommend the Ambong Ambong to any kind of travellers!

Best Experience in Langkawi So Far”
My partner and I stayed here over the weekend and we were very impressed by the level of service and professionalism displayed by the staff. We interacted most with Lee and Hakeem, but every single staff member we spoke to was just as friendly and accommodating as them. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and had gorgeous views. Breakfast, although not a buffet, was delicious. I highly recommend Ambong Ambong to anyone visiting Langkawi and would 100% book this place again. The only downside I can think of is the amount of climbing needed to get to your room, making this inaccessible to anyone with mobility needs. Although they ferry guests to and from their rooms, the fact that this resort is situated on an incline means you will need to climb stairs at some point.

Staff is super accommodating from the start till finish of the entire trip experience! Friends and I planned for a surprise bridal trip for a bride to be there, she was extremely overwhelmed and couldn’t have any way better for sure. Thank you Akane (Ambong’s staff) for accommodating to the planning and arranged everything for us. We were extremely grateful and blessed to have that wonderful and memorable experience for sure! Fantastic stay & service”
Our stay at Singa 2 was pleasant and fantastic. You are staying in the rainforest, so expect monkeys and insects. However, the staff were thoughtful and prepared all the necessary equipment to deal with that. The rooms may be a little hard to reach for those whom have difficulty walking as it is on steep slope. However the staffs are just a call away and they have specialized vehicles to take you to your rooms. Overall, a fantastic getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Will come back again.

Exceptional”
Very wonderful getaway for husband and I from work. All the staffs are friendly, helpful and obey SOP(wear masks) during this period. Views from our room was fantastic(both rainforest and sea view). Breakfast was awesome, and we both love the massage from Ishan spa. Surroundings have a lot of restaurants, our favourite will be the Unkaizan japanese restaurant just in front of the hotel. We surely will be back!

Best place for a getaway!”
Superb staff! They are very friendly and helpful throughout the vacation! Spacious room with balcony! The hotel is a bit further from other shops but we didn't mind it. The food is amazing and there's Unkaizan Japanese restaurant below our room that's worth visiting! Looking forward for our next visit to Ambong Ambong!

A magical retreat from the beach.”
I had wanted to stay close to the beach in Langkawi, but the only comparable places that were away from the crowded Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah were far more expensive. This is a small, boutique hotel, a short ten min walk from the beach, set high up in the hills overlooking Pantai Cenang. Rooms are superb for the value - amazing linens, towels, etc. Lots of wildlife off your little porch, secluded from views of neighbors, terrific views of the beach and sunset. Had a giant, 8" Today gecko every night by our front door, and myriad birds and butterflies, and a large troop of monkeys wandering the forest above us. Facilities are limited but more than adequate, a small, relaxing pool, a terrific spa, a platform studio for yoga, and a small cafe with wine, coffee, tea, etc. Breakfast every morning is terrific. Best part of Ambong Ambong is the staff - kind, attentive, organizing whatever you want. Best staff I've ever seen at a hotel this size. Highly, highly recommended.
