You Would Regret for your Stay!!”
After spending hours of reviewing hotels available in Singapore, I finally decided to book AMOY for my parents anniversary stay. I am so glad that I chose AMOY, as I heard many positive feedback from my parents regarding their stay in AMOY. The staff are friendly and SUPER helpful in accommodating my parents to ensure a pleasure stay. There's a lot of peak to stay with AMOY, and the Breakfast is Awesome!! Convenient location to point of attractions. Absolutely will recommend AMOY for my family and friends because of their EXCELLENT customer services and go above and beyond in serving my parents. Many thanks!!
Overall, this is a hotel that I will come stay again!”
Highly recommend! Front desk service was VERY good, they were polite and instructed the surrounding and service clearly. While i check-in, a free and decent drink was served to welcome my stay. Room was clean, stylish and fully-equipped. Although they don't have their own gym for guest to use, you can still use the gym in 4-star hotel - oasis downtown(1 km away from Amoy), an associated hotel of Amoy hotel. Breakfast served in Dean and Deluca where is just 1 min by walk outside Amoy. You can enjoy a proper breakfast there! Overall, this is a hotel that I will come stay again!
Unique experience 5 star hotels can't offer”
Having stayed in W Hotel Sentosa for two nights before moving to AMOY, this new hotel built on a heritage site is a refreshing experience. Away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended to people whom are bored of standard and common hotels. Location is very good. Walking distance to Club street, Chinatown and few minutes by taxi to Marina Bay Sands. The new MRT LINE passes through the area which will be open by Dec 2013. The Telok Ayer station will be open right opposite the hotel facade.
Loved this place”
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Amoy. There are lots of great bars and restaurants near by. Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay is not to far if you don't mind a walk or an $8 Uber ride. We did feel the rooms were a bit too small to what we would have preferred but they are beautifully decorated with a lovely asian style throughout. The staff were amazing, so welcoming and accommodating. It was raining early in the morning when we left and the front desk staff both came out with umbrellas and took us to our transfer car.
the Amoy is the most incredible hotel I’ve ever stayed in!”
the staff of the Amoy took care of my 96-year-old father & I as if we were their own beloved family members! the rooms were clean & beautiful, with fabulous mattresses & the softest sheets. we had to leave at 5:30 am for flight to Bali & were woken up, given wonderful packed breakfasts & taken to airport in Audi limo. I’ll always stay at the Amoy when in Singapore.
Extraordinary service is the reason I stay”
It is my third time staying at AMOY. Exclusive offering and services - complimentary 1-way airport transfer (very helpful when you arrive at night), free mini bar, breakfast, welcome drink, greeting hand-writing cards, small gift for revisiting - keep you warm and sweet at every moment. Westerner will also love the decoration in this boutique hotel renovated from a Chinese temple. Very convenient to MRT and my workplace at Marina Bay. One thing it can be improved is the breakfast which still has very limited variety even after the opening of the restaurant. But it can be solved by going to the fastfood shops nearby. There is no leisure facility in the hotel so it will be more suitable for busy business travelers and tourists.
In need of a good business hotel. Look no further”
I enjoyed staying at the Amoy hotel for two nights. It was the perfect hotel for me, a single business traveller in search of an affordable hotel in Singapore. It's not for everyone though. I can see that if I was a tourist with my wife or kids this place wouldn't cut it. They have these single bedrooms, opium beds they told me. Very comfy I’m 6' fine in the length department. Bed was extremely comfortable. Great sleep. The mini bar is free and replenished daily. Two Pepsi's, two beers and two each juice/tea. Small pack of crisps and some nut. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, yet. You hardly notice. The hotel backs onto a street of bars and restaurants open at most hours of the day. There is a new MRT station straight across the road. Boat Key is a ten minute walk away. Nescafé pod machine in the room but no milk. It’s a massive oversight. So espresso it was. 3 or 4 boutique teas there as well. Try the caramel one, it's great. A TV on the wall with some cable channels, not enough in English. Free internet. Free map of the area. Nice shower with two heads, wall and rain. Took a while for the shower to run hot. It will, you just have to wait for it. Timber floor makes a bit of a racket. The staff are very attentive and I must say a personal thanks to April, he was very good indeed The hotel entrance is an old Chinese Temple dating back to the 1820's which is pretty cool. The Hotel transfer sort of fell on it's face. I ended up waiting for 40 min as my driver was late. I also had to ring the hotel, 5 minutes on roaming isn't a cheap thing. The driver was very apologetic but after travelling all day I did wish he'd been on time. The check in was a breeze. They really are about service. Would I stay again? absolutely! At around $200 a night with a airport transfer is a pretty good deal in a town of expensive hotels.
Great location but a bit snug”
One night stay at Amoy and it is worth it for the location. The bedroom makes the best use of space available, so don't take any cats to swing. However, the hotel is central and within walking distance of the Singapore River, CBD and MRT.
Yes, We Love Amoy Hotel!!!”
Thanks to Amoy Hotel & Amoy team for the experience and memories when stayed. Also thanks for the surprised. Breakfast: taste ok, but don't have to much choice. Great hotel. Good location (near MRT Station). Nice room. Very friendly staff. Excellent service. Two thumbs up. We love it!
Amazing”
I had not fully researched this hotel, as the brilliant location was all I was going by, and the fact it is opposite the MRT meant it would be easy to travel around Singapore. So when my limo, provided by the hotel to get me from the airport, pulled up outside a small and old temple, I was a little worried. But staff greeted me at the curb and gave me a guided tour of the temple and explained its history before taking me into the actual hotel proper. I can only say awesome. To build a modern hotel around the remains of a historic building without damaging the actual building or making the temple less than it is, is a spectacular achievement of modern architecture, and many other tourism locations around the world should learn from their example. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful, the restaurant fantastic, my room perfect, making for an unforgettable stay. Extremely impressed, and hope to stay there again in the future.
Most impressive experience ever”
It was a really wonderful experience in AMOY. The staff are very attentive, friendly, and professional. The hotel is well-designed and well-equipped. The hotel even provides free limo service to pick up clients from airport to hotel or from hotel to anywhere you want to visit.
Very special boutique hotel”
This is a very special boutique hotel while you have to pass through the oldest temple in Singapore to get into the hotel lobby. Amoy opened on the beginning of 2013 and it's quite brand new when I stayed in. The room is not too spacious but comfortable and special designed. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Fantastic Boutique hotel”
A wonderful stay made special by the best staff and all the little touches. Definitely worth a stay to enjoy the wonderful AMOY experience
Impressive staffs and comfortable room”
The room is pleasant - comfortable with intricate Chinese decorations. The size of the room is reasonable and with the clever use of space, the room is well-equipped with the basic fixtures. Travellers with huge luggages might find the room space a challenge. The staffs are very friendly, almost like I've known them for years. Along with their hotel practice, I was expecting a written note in my room as I have read about in the other reviews. However, what I had not expected was a birthday card for my fiance and 2 complimentary small bottles of wine to mark the joyous staycation. It was indeed a sweet gesture from the hotel staffs. Kudos to them for paying attention to such details. One area to improve will be the location of the tv. It is mounted on a panel at the side of the bed. The panel is supposed to be moveable but it moves so little that it makes no difference. Watching tv in bed is made a little less enjoyable when you have to turn your head or without a support for your back. I will definitely recommend this lovely hotel to anyone who loves a heritage hotel.
A wonderful find!”
Superb! I love surprises and AMOY Hotel was a great surprise. I love the atmosphere (I enjoy architectural gems). The developers successfully preserved the foundation of this former temple and added on to it. So main entrance is the temple and so discreet that some people wouldn't even know it's a hotel. I love the little notes that staff leaves on top of the bed during turndown. The hotel is centrally located that one can walk either either side towards Chinatown or the Quay. Loved it!
Great Location. Clean. Friendly staff. ”
This is a lovely boutique hotel. The rooms are on the small side (as are most hotel rooms in Singapore) but the space is well set out and the rooms are beautifully appointed, being a mixture of heritage and contemporary. The entrance is a small temple, which you walk through to find the lobby. There is also a back entrance that opens out onto arcades of restaurants and bars. It is ideally located near Chinatown and Marina Bay, with a new MRT station across the road. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly and attentive, even leaving card messages for a comfortable night's sleep. A great place to stay. Highly recommended.
Spectacular service, boutique feel, great location”
I was going to Singapore for a special trip with my girlfriend. I went through all the typical places, but most were either insanely expensive, or had a business feel to them. I chose this place mainly because of the comments about the service, and the expected ambiance of being in a temple. In the end, the service really was great - it is the little touches that really made a difference, and the very, very special stuff they did for my girlfriend and I. Little things like asking for a wine opener - not a problem, came back immediately with it and left it with us for the weekend. Nice hand written notes, friendly staff - they leave the building to show you where you are going. And it started with the pickup service in the Mercedes, the maps as we got in the car,and the well informed driver that told us all the things in the hotel area. The location was perfect for me. Fairly near the marina, across the street from the MRT, next to plenty of coffee places (Segafredo and Dean&Deluca), and 10 min walking to Chinatown and restaurants/bars there. If you need amenities like swimming pools and fitness - this is not the place to be. But for a unique, well cared for experience, it was great for us. It is probably a bit expensive for what it is, but for Singapore, not so bad. Looking back, I don't regret choosing this place.
Hidden jewel”
We loved the beautiful renovation of this historic property, that brought East and West together. The room was quite lovely and little touches like the tea range made it special. The staff could not have been more helpful!
Special hotel in great location”
This is a great hotel as base for a city trip to Singapore. Location right in Chinatown is perfect - we walked everywhere, but there's also a subway stop and a taxi stand right outside the door. Our room was small, but totally sufficient, with the design and architecture of this old Chinese house really being something special! Skip the hotel breakfast and rather go to Ya Kun Kaya Toast right at the back of the hotel!!
The best hotel staff in the World. Genuinely interested in us enjoying our stay. ”
We would recommend this small beautiful hotel with its entrance through an old temple and its kind and attentive staff. It was a joy to stay here. First time in Singapore and now know where we would stay every time. The spirit of the hotel team is gentle and beautiful. Very human. Angela and John
