NH Tropen Amsterdam”
Very pleasantly sursprised by the hotel. Looks like a tower block from the outside but inside is very smart, exactly like a 4 star hotel but with 2 star prices. The rooms are lovely and if you are on a high floor you will have views across the city, i felt this was an added bonus to my holiday. The hotel is very safe and quiet and you can catch a hotel shuttle from the airport. The breakfast is excellent and the staff cannot be faulted. The only slight downside is that the hotel is situated far on the east side and you need to take a tram to get into the city which could become quite tiring of an evening as we did not see any places to eat nearby. however, the stop is directly opposite the hotel and the trams come every 15 mins to anywhere in the city. the reception staff will also help you to navigate the tram system. Overall the hotel is fantastic value for money and is far better than others I have seen. It was a big factor in making our trip to amsterdam an almost perfect city break.

One of the best hotels for the $$$”
The rooms and service are fantastic. Well worth your price (especially if you book on agoda.com, which will include breakfast). The location isn't central, but the tram stop is right outside the hotel and you are a 10 minute ride away from the center. The staff is very friendly, the room service is great, the internet is expensive if you want the 24 hours deal, but if 15 minutes suffices, then you get that for free in the hotel lobby (and there are plenty of cafes in the city that give you free internet e.g CoffeeCompany). In sum, I would stay here every time that I come to Amsterdam.

nice location great service”
the hotel is located in bustling amsterdam and yet quiet with convenient public transport allowed quick and speedy transport to the surrounding attractions. although a rental car was available, it was definitely easier and cheaper using the public transport system. the rooms were ok, a little small but still very comfortable. the beds was to my liking in terms of its springy-ness the staff was super helpful. i lost my passport there, and they helped the search and when it was finally recovered it with a lot of effort, i felt that they have gone out of their way to assist. i am truely grateful for that .

Great location, small rooms”
Great location, particularly if you're arriving by car and wish to avoid the horrific and expensive hassle that tends to come with driving a car into Amsterdam city centre. Hotel is a 3 star venue. Rooms are very small indeed, nothing overly surprising though for Amsterdam hotels. Hotel feels a bit outdated and tired. Coming from overseas, we perceived a bit of a mismatch between quality and price. That said, Amsterdam hotels don't come cheap at the best of times, and given the location, parking and the fact that our room on the 8th floor allowed for some truly spectacular views of Amsterdam, probably NH Tropen would not be your worst bet

Nice and comfortable hotel”
The hotel is situated very nice and the hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was simple but ok, only the chairs were not ok. If I moved back and forth the chair almost fell apart. Overall, in combination with the price we paid for the room, we would surely come back again.

Nice Relief from the Insanity of the City Center”
This hotel was not in the city center, but it was exactly what we liked about it. Set in a quiet neighborhood, with a tram right outside the hotel, is was very easy to go to the city center. The tram was cheap and took less than 15 minutes to get to Dam Square. The hotel itself was clean and offered complimentary use of a computer in the lobby and free wifi.

Standard service and room of a hotel chain”
The hotel served pastries at the reception on the mornings of our stay. The hotel also has a counter to make hot drinks in the lobby - a thoughtful gesture especially for winter! The room was competitively priced and the hotel provides the usual amenities expected of a hotel chain. It is a little far from the town center.

I would definitely recommend the hotel again. It's near the amenities and has easy access to transport (i.e. trams). Also, the reception area was pleasant and the hotel personnnel were polite. They also provided 15 minutes free access to the internet and wifi which made it easy to do online check ins for flights.

It's a good hotel, just outside the centre, but easy access with tram and buses. When booked at Agoda it is nicely priced. For sure I would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Nice quiet enclave”
Help was provided when required. Although the room water heater was rusty, the staff helped to provide hot water from the restaurant/bar when we needed it as there was no extra heater available. Staff was very friendly in helping to explain where to go, speaks good english

There could have been air conditioning in the room plus better wifi rates. Breakfast was not included in my package so that was disappointing considering i took the bigger room.

A little bit older hotel ”
decent hotel but needs renovation, location at very nice city park, but a little walk away from the real down town. a bit tricky to find if you come by car. also quite abit away from train station. overall an ok hotel

Tropen Amsterdam”
The room and bathrooms were clean. However, no one had clearly checked the condition of the furniture. The chair in front of the desk had lost its cushioning, so much so that one was sitting on bare metal under the fabric. This made it impossible to use the chair. I was also very disappointed at the lack of any kind of food service during the weekend and by the lack of room service. I did appreciate having a kettle and tea/coffee in the room. Front desk staff were friendly and the breakfast, included in the price, adequate.

Outrageous service during checkout; Old interiors”
The front desk manager was extremely rude and unprofessional during our checkout. At check-in, we confirmed with her colleague that we can leave our baggage after we depart. During checkout, Marielle refused to acknowledge the consent and passed sarcastic remarks. She did not even bother to verify it with her colleague because "he's asleep", according to her. It really makes customers feel unimportant. We took it in good faith that the request will be fulfilled and proceeded to check in. We were very unsatisfied of this shock during our check out. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone because of the low level of service we received. Bad attitude.
