In town or the beach? I chose wisely!”

I live in HCMC and had a few days off for the recent national holiday. I wanted to go to Hue to see the famous sites and because of the lack of foreign tourists, this timeframe seemed ideal. In terms of where to stay, it was a choice between a river resort, a place in town or a beach resort. I finally decided on a beach resort because of the fact that if there was nothing else to do, spending all day by the ocean is always more compelling than walking around a town to see if there's anything interesting. In choosing Ana Mandara, I chose wisely. To begin with, with all due respect to Hue, beyond the recognized sites to visit, there isn't much to do and quite honestly, the town isn't remarkable as a tourist destination. I was in Hoi An over Tet and the Old Town is beautiful and just walking around, taking in the optics is interesting. Once it became evident that the town wasn't exactly "hopping" with entertainment, spending time working on my tan

Gorgeous Getaway Close to a Lovely Seaside Village”

Amazing Villas, Beautiful Grounds, Delightful Staff

I honestly don't know where to begin. Given Hue's main airport is currently closed for renovations, we arrived with a carsick toddler by arranged car service after a harrowing trip through the beautiful "cloud pass." A bit worse for wear, we couldn't believe our eyes when we finally pulled through the entry of Ana Mandara. The presentation at reception alone was more than gorgeous: an open-air lobby with a beautiful reflecting pool and views of the beach. Even with our little one, we were upgraded to a beachfront villa -- and we had no idea what that meant until we were led by a lovely staff member through the beautiful property and right up into our room: an opulent villa literally steps away from the beach. It was more than we could have hoped for, especially given how affordable our rates had been. The villa seems like the way to go here: it's a beautifully decorated room with a comfortable bed, separate seating area, and over-the-top bathroom with not only a gorgeous clawfoot tub and glass-enclosed shower, but also an outdoor shower -- all with beach views. The two sliding glass doors opened onto a private deck with chairs, a table, and even a grassy area for our little guy to run around in. And the pool -- oh, the pool. Breakfast too was amazing, with a generous spread of fruits, breads, yogurts, cereals, hot foods, made-to-order eggs, even Hue's local soup, as well as coffees, teas, and juices. The waitstaff were wonderful with our baby, even trying to coax him to come along with them. We didn't try the restaurants for dinner or lunch, but for very good reason: we discovered that just beyond the resort compound were the most delicious treats and stalls. Actually, we were perfectly positioned in a villa to the right of the beach, where just beyond the resort walls are three really great beachfront restaurants with the freshest fish and other seafoods for dinner on the sand. These restaurants and the fishing village down the road saved our fears that we wouldn't

    great service, beautiful hotel

while u could pay a lottttt more and stay at a far more 'prestigious' hotel lime something from the list of Mr & Mrs smiths hotel. Ana mandara is great value for money! but then i have to sell my kidney. A reasonable room price from agoda gave us a large spacious room, large spacious bath.. bed over looking the sea.. and everything is new. But what we found great was the service... staff went out of the way to be helpful and take time to speak to you. if i have one complain is that the sea is not suitable for swimming but that will be the same for that coast.. other places in asia will offer better beaches and water quality/clear water.. less waves.. but swimming at the sea/snorkelling should not be your priority if you visit hue.. the hotel is also 20 min ++ from the city/old town.. there is free shuttle though.

Cosy little resort, very attentive staff”

One of the best things about Lapochine is their fabulous staff who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Their private beach and saltwater pool are pristine and well attended to. When we arrived on Sunday there was a big group doing team building activities. We told them about the noise and got upgraded to a beach villa, which was large, well designed with an outdoor shower and the beach right in front of us. However during the week the resort is very quiet. Breakfast was a small but nice selection of local and international food. Lagoon restaurant did very well with both Hue and Western cuisines at reasonable prices. Right next to the resort are many local seafood restaurants where the locals eat. The food here can't be fresher and is really cheap. This is one of the few places we will definitely come back to.

Great hotel next to the beach”

    size, design, cleanliness

We stayed at the Ana Mandara Hue for 2 nights. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was spacious with high ceilings, a large bathroom with tub/shower, and a patio area that led to the garden. The TV had a good selection of channels (cinemax, starz, nat geo, etc). The evening room service was a nice surprise…they came in when we were gone for dinner and set the bed and closed the curtains. Breakfast was good too, a fair selection of east/west dishes. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the beach much since it was very cold and windy in Hue at the time. I imagine it to be very nice during the warmer seasons. Another thing to note is that this hotel is far from the imperial palace/citadel and city area. you will need to take a taxi to the city and there are no restaurants nearby so you will have to eat on site (but the hotel food is good)

    Absolutely stunning”

    Beach, food and amazing rooms

We stayed here for 2 nights and were not disappointed. Ana Mandara has extremely friendly staff and the best accommodation we had in Vietnam. The beach and swimming pool are beautiful and the restaurant serves delicious food although it is rather expensive Unfortunately the weather wasn't great but if the sun was out this would have been the perfect place! Another of the few negatives is that it is about 15km from Hue and although there was a shuttle to and from Hue twice a day this fills up pretty quickly, so book in advance. We will definitely go back but next time will spend a bit more time at this scenic gem.

    Lovely—Don’t Miss!”

We stayed for five nights at the Ana Mandara and would have liked to stay for a month. The beach villas are incredible—you have a huge patio and grassy front to the beach, only 30 feet away. The room is beautiful and huge, with an outdoor shower surrounded by greenery and stone walls. The staff, including Mr. Raymond, Nadine, Ha, Quoc and the rest are so welcoming and friendly. The pool is gorgeous and while swimming, you hear the waves crashing. Thoughtful touches like two outdoor showers, a poolside bar Happy Hour, and lifeguards complete the picture of a hotel that is dedicTed to treating guests well. The breakfast is very well presented and has Western foods as well as Asian. The omelette they make is as good as any I’ve had in Paris, and they are happy to bring you as many cappuccinos as you like. We stayed for dinner each night and ate on the terrace. You can see the lights from all the fishing boats and see the moon rise—magical.

    Peaceful Place”

If you have a plan to stay a calm & peaceful resort in Vietnam, Ana Mandara Hue will be perfect. All of staffs were very kind and room condition was fantastic. Spa therapists were very good and careful. I stayed 3 nights with my wife and my wife told me that we must come here again in the near future. Thanks for Ana Mandara Hue staffs' effort.

    Great beach location”

the beach, the pool and short distance to thuan an seafood restaurants

it was amazingly relaxing. Spa was expensive and we made a mistake of getting laundry done here at usd40. (It wasn't a lot) The room was huge But the location is wonderful.. Empty and quiet Thuan An Beach where the waters are clean (not the clearest tho) the nearest seafood restaurant from Ana Mandara wAs where we went - very cheap, super fresh and prepared very simply.

Beautiful Resort but too far from Town”

Beautiful pool, beach area and rooms

my partner and I loved the Ana Mandara. Staff were friendly, restaurants food was delicious and beach, pool area is beautiful and rooms are really nice. We just found that the Ana Mandara is too far from town. It takes a 20 minute drive into town. The resort does offer a free shuttle service but when we were staying it only went in 3 times a day. Which for us was not enough. The food is also a little pricey for Vietnam and there is basically no where else near the resort to eat.

    Relaxing, idyllic and tranquil”

Comfortable room, beautiful beach and attentive service

We stayed at Thuan An beach because of the Ana Mandara. It was a surprisingly great decision. The beach was very beautiful. The sand was so fine that my 10-y-o daughter was making sand angel. That is saying alot as she usually does not tolerate any sand on her body. The pool was very nice. There are a few couples taking wedding photo shoot on site daily which they pay a handsome fee to the hotel. Usually they respected hotel guests's rights, but one crew in particular invaded our space at the pool area. I must write to the hotel about this incident. Food was surprisingly good, usually Hue cuisine food is not the best at "chi chi"hotel. There was one small boy from Hanoi, probably a 5 year old, was touching a few pastries with his hands at the breakfast buffet, then licking the tongs. Staff are genuinely nice. Housekeeping takes a long time to make up our room. It was ok, not the cleanest. There were holes in our sheets, an inch diameter each. The hotel towels had seen better days. Overall, we still love this hotel for a relaxing stay.

    Great!”

    Location, service, value

Our stay at the Ana Mandara Beach Resort was wonderful. We went in the off-season in October 2014 and there were practically no other people there. The staff was of the utmost friendliness, and were very willing to make special accommodations for us. For example, we checked out 4 hours late because of a change of plans, but that was no problem. The food is good, but there is room for improvement. Overall, we really enjoyed our time.

very nice and relaxing stay at Ana Mandara ”

large room, sea view, great breakfast

We had a very nice stay at the hotel, even though, in the low season, there were only a few people there. Not much to do at the hotel, but that's what you are looking for when you go to Ana Mandara. The hotel has free shuttle to Hué, 25 min away from the hotel. The rooms are huge, especially the beach villa. The bathroom is delicious ! The bed are a little too soft though. Highly recommended !

Great resort with nice quiet beach ”

Big rooms, nice balcony, quiet beach and great staff!

This resort is a treat! Huge room with big bathroom (seperate shower and free standing bath), balcony with chaisse longue to lounge on. Room comes with complimentary water and use of umbrella's, beach bag, rain coats, robe and slippers, fruit, tea and coffee. Wifi in room (although not very strong). Most comfortable bed ever!! I celebated my birtyday here and staff made sure I had a wonderful day including giving me a birthday cake. When I was there is was very quiet so had the beach and pool all to myself! Restaurant had a-la-carte menu (with reasonable resort prices, not ridiculously over the top) and everything I had was very tasty and well-prepared. Located about 30 minutes out of Hue but shuttle bus leaves 3 or 4 times a day. Spa was good and nicely decorated but not exceeding expectations.

    Very comfortable ”

    Swimming pool, beach and rooms

Had a pleasant stay at the Ana Mandara Hue. The rooms were amazing and beds were so comfortable. Breakfast could have been better having more western choices would have been good. Was a bit far from Hue itself but was a great location if you wanted a beach location. The hotel provided a mini bus into Hue took about 40 minutes one way. Would come back to the hotel if i wanted a relaxing beach holiday.

Wonderful Place to stay near Hue”

    Service, Food, Swimming Pool

We stayed only one night at Ana Mandara and we enjoyed it. We were perfectly welcomed by the staff and were well taken care of during all our stay. The facilities are great, swimming pool very nice. Great atmosphere at the restaurant and great food as well. We highly recommend this place. It is 25 minutes from Hue center but very peaceful after a day of visits.

All in one: Beach, Culture, Shopping”

alone on beach excellent breakfast spacious luxurious rooms

This resort offered everything I wanted: no other hotels around so alone on the beach. Culture in old city of Hue is easy to reach with a short ride either on shuttle or by metered taxi. Shopping is great if you go off the beaten path and haggle in Hue. Simple little restaurants right on beach for freshest seafood. Staff was extremely attentive and helpful even offering me a great cooking class on my own. A perfect experience with one small problem: the resort seems to be very popular with families with small children at least at this time of year (mid June), which means it can be a bit noisy at times.
