Peaceful get-away in beautiful Hoi An”
After backpacking through southern Vietnam for a few weeks, we arrived in Hoi An and had two nights in the Life Heritage resort to re-charge our batteries before traveling upwards towards Hanoi. Well, recharge is certainly what we did. Upon arriving, the lovely staff greeted us with drinks and although we arrived a few hours early than regular check-in, they did their very best to accommodate us and we had a room within 10 minutes. The rooms are fantastically clean, lots of space to move around in (which is a plus after hostels and sleeping buses) and the bathroom is big and beautiful with a lovely sunken bathtub and a high pressure shower. The TV has lots of channels if you want to just lie on your (mega-comfy) bed and chill out and the mini-bar is stocked with reasonably priced drinks. Breakfast is included with the room and is a huge buffet breakfast, with everything from local pho to Western fare such as pancakes, omelets, bacon, sausages etc. I would say that besides the rooms, staff and food at the hotel, the location for us was a real reason to stay at the hotel. The hotel is located at the end of one of the main streets of Hoi An, so that it is still in the old centre but at the same time, it is gloriously peaceful because it is in its own nook right by the river. You can walk to the main market and streets of Hoi An within 5 minutes, which is a lot better than a bunch of hotels/hostels some of our other friends stayed at while traveling. In short, if you are up for spending a little more money for luxury, comfort and an unforgettable experience while in Hoi An, you should be staying at the Life Heritage Resort.
Lovely serene resort”
We loved our 5 night stay at Anantara, in a Junior Garden View Suite. The tranquil atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing and the staff always went the extra mile, with a smile. We spent most days by the pool, as the weather was extremely hot, but at night we ventured into Old Town for dinner. It's a 10 minute walk to markets, shopping and restaurants. Hoi An offers some truly remarkable food! The hotel is located in a great position by the river - close to all the action, but far enough to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. Breakfast was very nice too, overlooking the river. We ate dinner once at the resort - food was quite nice, but you can find better in town. I do however recommend the hotel's Irish bar "O'Malleys" for fantastic cocktails in air-conditioned comfort (the August heat/humidity is relentless, even at night) or you can sit outside under the lanterns. What distinguishes this resort from others is the attention to detail, even with little things, that make your stay so much more personal and enjoyable. The staff were so friendly and seemed to enjoy working there, particularly the pool bar staff. The room was very nice and had excellent air conditioning! Only negative is the temperature of the pool - it's a little bit too warm. I highly recommend this resort!
discrete southeast asian luxury”
easily the best hotel in hoi an. discrete southeast asian luxury. service was attentive. room was beautiful. resort was refined and sophisticated unlike the rest of hotels in hoi an. the price in unbeatable. i paid 2.5 times after to stay at victoria hoi an under the impression that it's a better hotel. wrong. victoria hoi an was horrible. room was stale and sheets and pillows smelled. cheesy club med group. i immediately checked out and went back to life heritage. one interesting point. i accidentally caught a glimpse of an employee cleaning a room and i was amazed at how meticulous she was. she was wiping every single possible surface! closets, handles, cabinet doors, mirror frames, chair frames... everything.
Beautiful & great location. Staff could be better.”
we stayed 3 nights in this hotel looking to make hoi an one of the highlights of our trip in vietnam by choosing a nice looking resort type hotel. we were not disappointed when we arrived. very central, by the river, and easy to get to the beautiful beach by complimentary hotel bike. staff were not always as friendly and helpful as you'd expect in a place like this. after many very good experiences in other hotels in vietnam we found this below standard. upon check in we weren't made to feel that welcome, had to carry our own bags to the room, they walked us to the bottom of the stairs. we don't need much, but it was just odd. breakfast service is excellent, staff are very nice and attentive. the bellboys and front desk staff are lazy and made us store the bikes, didn't show us where, just pointed. strange. they check your room 3 times a day, not sure why. we just put the dnd sign on most days. prices in mini bar are extortionate compared to rest of hoi an. most other services are overpriced too. all in all loved our stay, would go back (at the right price) but some new management would make this a 10.
Fantastic hotel, great staff & the best location”
Initially we were torn between choosing a beach resort or Life Heritage which is in Hoi An town but we had no regrets at all choosing this hotel. Life heritage has the best location, best service & best interior in Hoi An if I might say. We were able to cycle to town which is like right infront of the hotel using the complimentary bicycles. We had easy access to good restaurants & cafes in Hoi An as well which is a plus. If we had chosen to stay at the beach, we will have to take a shuttle bus to & fro which can be very exhausting but there is really nothing much near the beach so travelers might really have to make this trip daily so staying in town in Hoi An is the best choice for anyone looking forward to spending time in the ancient town.
Fine hotel with fabulous rooms”
hoi an is a beautiful historic town and staying at the life heritage resort allowed us to fully appreciated all aspects of our holiday. the hotel staff were welcoming but the room took the biscuit. we booked a superior garden view room which was located on the first floor of a beautiful colonial building, magnificently maintained. our room was similar to a studio apartment (without the kitchen). it had its own front door with 2 day beds on the very expansive verandah; a sitting area with a lovely couch, up 3 steps to the bedroom which was beautiful. then there were double sliding doors through to the bathroom which was fitted with bamboo trimmiings. truly special. the pool was great on a hot day, trips to the beach were easy by hotel car/bus or taxi 10 minutes drive and tailoriing in hoi an was great fun. breakfast and pool side food was great.
Mr. Colm Flynn”
We stayed in the Life Resort on week two of our six week honeymoon in Vietnam/Thailand, and boy what a choice. We chose the place following a trawl online and ended up getting a very good deal through Agoda. From the moment we arrived at reception, until the day our taxi left seven days later, we were treated like royalty, ate the best of foods, lounged alongside the nicest pool getting served drinks and food by Owne (pronounced Wan) and the other staff. They have an excellent library also, and room service was excellent throughout. They even wrote Love signs on our bed with rose petals each night after finding out we were on honeymoon. Overall, we loved Hoi An and Life Resort and will definitely come back again soon.
Fabulous Hotel, great rooms, fab location!”
we choose 8 nights to relax at this hotel and were not disappointed. fabulous rooms as standard. lovely comfy beds, spacious accommodation and lovely daybeds on veranda. just be careful when using shower for privacy and extreme slippery! strange pool with all sides shallow leading to deep in middle. in october the sun sets through trees around 4pm with few beds in sun... but you get to find out those and sit there if you love the sun like i do! right on doorstep of charming hoi an - restaurants abound, interesting shops and of course lots of dressmaking and shoe making options! we trusted a shoe maker to make 3 pairs of shoes (1 mans, 1 ladies dance pair and pair of sandals) in 24 hours and were disappointed! so please leave a lot more time -perhaps we were unlucky but the sandals were ok nothing special, both shoes shoddy (not finished properly, infact husbands pair tore in his hands whilst trying to get on!& my dance pair were poor quality regardless of cheap price) needless to say we did not buy but it was embarrasing. check out gourmet garden resaurant - in the middle - amazing food for price with smiling staff - different menu, could have eaten there every night! restaurants on river - samey and staff quite sullen - so go further in and pay a bit extra! would thoroughly recommend life heritage especially in rainy season when you don't wont to be bothered getting expensive taxis into town every night and can shop/mooch when it rains. we had poolside room, 2nd floor and it was a bit noisy with kids etc in pool but we were so comfortable we couldn't be bothered to move. free computers, food in hotel ok but expensive as expected. lots of little touches, fruit & biscuits on arrival, umbrellas in room, complimentary water and i asked for & was given lipton teabags and fresh milk for tea - great! breakfast fab - try the fresh pancakes - banana & cocunut plus eggs to order.you will not be disppointed with this hotel and we are hard to please! enjoy
Lovely hotel and impeccable services ”
This hotel is in the Life Resort system which to my understanding offers the best services in Vietnam (we had stayed at Life Resort in Quy Nhon before and had a similarly wonderful experience). We had a very pleasant stay this time and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The standard room is somewhat small, although we wonder if this impression is the result of our previous 3 nights at a spacious resort in Da Nang (the Nam Hai). The hotel offers you free bicycles and it is indeed the best way to explore Hoi An and the vincinity. The breakfast food is great. The services they offered are impeccable, prompt and very friendly. The swimming pool is somewhat shallow, which is great for kids, and it gets deeper in the middle. It is big enough for a pleasant swim. All in all, great experience and we strongly recommend this hotel for everyone.
We booked a junior suite and from the website photos had one or two reservations about the room size and decor. These were immediately dispelled as soon as we walked into the room. The decor is subdued and tasteful, the king bed comfortable and the bathroom a spacious delight. Lovely terrazzo bath with a rain shower. The standard of service throughout the hotel from concierge to reception, restaurant and house-keeping couldn't be faulted. A real bonus was that we arrived at about 10am from the early flight into Danang. Early check-in was not a problem and we had a full day to relax and begin to enjoy Hoi An's many delights. The hotel is located at the end of a quiet street close to the ancient town and some very fine restaurants. The pool is a delightful place to while a few hours in the heat of the afternoon. We thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hoi An who is prepared to spend a bit extra for a comfortable, relaxing stay.
A tranquil oasis in the Old Town”
As a resident of Vietnam, it is always a pleasure to get away from the hustle and bustle of Saigon to escape to Hoi An and Anantara. Watching the river boats passing by at breakfast, relaxing on a comfy lounger by the pool, being able to walk to cafes and artisan shops on the fringe of the old town, reading a book on your own sofa seats on the balcony, relaxing in the incredibly spacious rooms, stopping in for a late afternoon cocktail in the bar and enjoying a lovely meal in the restaurant by night are what keeps me coming back to this place. My home away from home.
Anantara is a beautiful hotel in Hoi An. The rooms are lovely, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great. Staff are very helpful & speak great English. There is nothing I could fault with Anantara. The location is great too. Walking distance to town but slightly removed from the busy areas. Would definitely go back.
Quiet and relaxing hotel right next to town”
Stayed one night in early June. Weather was VERY hot but Anantara is a great for lying by the pool with a drink. Had a room overlooking the garden/pool which was quiet and very comfortable. Large bathroom. Buffet breakfast had good variety - would definitely recommend the freshly cooked crepes. Will definitely stay at Anantara when next in Hoi An.
Very nice and memorable stay!”
During my search for a nice hotel in Hoi An I was browsing through a lot of hotels and found good reviews about the Life Heritage Hotel...so we tried it. We only stayed for one night in Hoi An but the stay in this hotel made Hoi An even more memorable. It is a beautiful oasis very close to the market and city center. Even though we already were tired from walking over the past few days we did two excursions to/trough Hoi An. The market is only a 5 min stroll away and cozy restaurants and small boutiques are all around. Without any second thought we would stay there again!
Life Heritage Resort”
The Life Heritage Resorts in Hoi An is a GREAT hotel. It was VERY clean, comfortable and the staff was helpful. This hotel is located right on the end of town and is very easily accessible to the town. When you check in, (which we were checking in 2 hrs before "check in time" and they let us in our room right away) they give you a map of the town and answer any questions you have. The staff helps you with airline tickets and any other travel arrangements you have. The pool is very beautiful, but not deep. The "American" food was okay, the Vietnamese food was also average. I would recommend eating out in the town as it is also very expensive at the hotel. If you need clothes washed, do not pay hotel prices. When you walk out of the hotel turn right and give your clothes to the Vietnamese ladies your clothes. They will wash, fold and iron for a very good rate, which is determined by weight. The only negative comment I have is that when we arranged tours with the hotel it was VERY expensive and the "tour" was just a driver to the sight and then you looked around on your own. I would recommend just hiring a cab to visit Marble Mountain and the My Son Ruins. Both are worth a visit. Overall I would recommend this hotel.
The best location”
We were upgraded to a River View room on arrival at half price because the air conditioning in the car that picked us up from the airport didn't work. The rooms are big and very comfortable. We wouldn't opt for a River View room if given the choice as the extra $70 is not worth it. Garden View rooms are just as nice and you don't get woken by boats at 4.30am. We enjoyed walking along the river side each morning and looking at local life. The pool was nice but a bit too warm. Service was great. Nothing was too much trouble and all done with a smile. The hotel has a cafe where you can get western style coffee and a nice lunch too. They packed us a lunch when we left too as we had a train ride. Life heritage is right near the old quarter of Hoi An and there is plenty to see and do in the evenings in the streets nearby. We went there to have clothes made and the choice of tailors is huge. In the end, we chose A Dong Silk, which is more upmarket but we wanted to know we were getting a good product. We did all our laundry just outside the hotel at Ms Anh's, which is much cheaper. I also found a great beauty Salon called Art just down the road, so while my husband stayed at the hotel, I had cheap massages (done well), a hair wash and a pedicure. The lady that runs this place was very warm hearted and friendly.
Wonderful hotel, shame about Hoi An”
Wonderfully designed and laid out resort with fantastic swimming pool, very relaxed and laid back atmosphere with helpful, discreet and unobtrusive staff only too pleased to help. We stayed during low season which meant bars and dining at the resort were a little lacking in atmosphere - but having stayed at several places like this in Vietnam, it seems most people staying at a nice hotel eat and drink 'off campus' anyway for a more authentic cuisine experience. Weren't too taken with Hoi An, although did get a suit made in 24 hours! All in all, we had a wonderfully relaxing time at Life Heritage, would definitely stay again.
Great resort, well designed, and a great breakfast”
We had a lovely stay at the Life Heritage Resort Hoi An. The rooms have a great lay-out, are generous in size and well-designed, with comfy beds. And I loved the bathroom! The resort pool is of a good size, and it's easy to relax there for a few hours. The breakfast was one of my favourite breakfasts we had during our 3-week stay in Vietnam, and we also had a lovely dinner in the restaurant. The resort bar has a great selection of drinks. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's located along the river, offering a nice path into the centre of town, particularly if one wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main road.
A Beautiful Resort”
this was our treat for the trip!!it was certainly a great 3 days stay. located at one end of the old town of hoi an it is very accessible to explore the old area and access cafes, restaurants, shopping, markets, tours of surrounding attractions. it was great to indulge in the pool, massages, ambience of the resort itself. the staff were very friendly and so helpful. the breakfast was a feast and sucha variety. hoi an is renoun for its tailoring to measure of clothes and shoes. try yaly, kimmy's and happy feet respectively. the world heritage sight of my son is worth a tour.
Great laid back resort with comfortable rooms.”
A laid back resort with excellent and comfortable rooms and a pool to relax by, although the pool is small by resort standards. The breakfast is excellent with views over the river and a cool breeze. The resort has privacy, yet within walking distance to the centre of Hoi An both day and in the evening. Bicycles are free for a easy ride across the river to the riverside villages or a ride to the beaches, no hills, just flat countryside. It was great to have the daybed outside the room to have a afternoon nap or read a book in private.
