Its location, while convenient, is still secluded enough to allow guests a chance to indulge in peace and tranquility. All 122 villas have a distinct character, and although you get the impression of staying in a private Thai home, they are enhanced with all the amenities you would expect from a resort in its class. All of the villas come with air conditioning, an in-room safe, a mini bar, tea and coffee, flat screen plasma TV, DVD, internet access, and an extra-large bathroom with full amenities. Guests also enjoy their private plunge pool at the villa and a shaded terrace.

It was Paradise!”
My husband i went for the first time to Anantara Lawana Koh Samui, the hotel was such a paradise. The staff was soo friendly, the rooms were clean and lovely, the bed was comfortable, the food and cocktails were fantastic. Breakfast was super. The swimming pool is in front of the ocean so the view is amazing. The hotel offers free kayaking as well. The waters were soo calm my husband and i went kayaking around an island close by. It was soo relaxed and peaceful. Only 10 mins from the airport and 5 mins town. I would highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely go back again. We had the time ever!!
Dear Sasha, Thank you for visiting Samui and for staying at Anantara Lawana. Our team were delighted to know you enjoyed your time with us and we look forward to the opportunity to have you back again. Sincerely, Ahmed Bronji, Guest Relations Manager
Gorgeous hotel in a wonderful setting”
this was our first time staying at the anantara lawana hotel chain. this particular hotel was so beautiful and the setting it was in was gorgeous with the beach and the gardens. we were booked into a room which was not ideal for me as i had a broken leg and our room was up a flight of stairs. after some discussion we were moved into a ground room with its own pool so we were very happy with this. the staff in the hotel complex were all very nice and friendly, except we did strike one of the reception staff as not being competent in english and she put us wrong with the ferry timetable from koh samui to koh tao. luckily we asked to speak to another receptionist who put us right on this and we booked our ferry tickets through her. this second receptionist was very apologetic to us about how experience with the initial receptionist. our room was huge, and so lovely and clean. we had an outside bathroom which you could access the pool from via french doors. the restaurant where we had our breakfast was on the beach which was gorgeous to eat at. all in all we would gladly stay here again, and this time for a longer period of time.
world class. like something from a movie...”
this place is a total high-roller mecca. we've stayed at a few other places for a similar price in koh samui, and this place takes them all down. no competition. we stayed at the slightly more expensive pool-access villas, and man... waking up... opening the big sliding doors- seeing a massive private pool (shared only by 5 other villas around it)... taking the steps into the massive pool... or lounging on the luxurious private deck connecting your villa to the pool... seriously, this place is like something from a movie. i've stayed at many world-class hotels all over the world, and this was by far one of the finest. if you can afford this place, you won't walk away sore. sometimes... some things are truly worth the premium price. and this place qualifies. the rest of the hotel (pools, beach, etc)... all top tier. as good as it gets. but back to your own room... seriously, it's so serene, elegant, and classy... you won't want to spend a minute away from it. by far the best place i've stayed at in koh samui, and i've spent many months here now, trying one resort/hotel after another.
Kudos To Villa Lawana Resort”
If you really want to enjoy your stay at Koh-Samui, Villa Lawana is the place for you. With a private beach, good restaurants and amazing service from the Villa Lawana team, your experience at Villa Lawana is sure to be unforgetable. Enjoy the views of the island while drinking cocktails, enjoy good trips to Koh-Tao and Ko-Phangan offered by the hotel.
A wonderful stay at Anantara Lawana”
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Anantara Lawana. We got a free upgrade to a pool suite room, which was just perfect! The service was great... And the staff were always friendly. It's conveniently located a short walk / drive away from the centre of Chaweng beach, so you still feel isolated without being too far away. We would definitely go back :)
fabulous hotel experience”
we have just returned from anantara lawana resort & spa it was a pleasure to stay at & we highly recommend it. the staff, service and food were fantastic and it's very well run. we had two different pool villas during our 8 night stay and both were fabulous, although the room lighting needs improving,it's very difficult to see when getting dressed or putting on makeup etc. you expect better from a luxury hotel. lighting on pathways is also poor in many areas and needs attention. the beachfront restaurants & breakfast were very good. treetops food was a little expensive & a bit disappointing as the flavours were confused but the service was good. our early morning checkout was a hassle as the porter didn't arrive to pick up our bags & we had to take them ourselves to the lobby which was a bit of a hike. all in all it's a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. the beach was lovely and quiet as it's disconnected from busy chaweng beach (you can't walk along the beach to the main part of chaweng beach). it's a five minute taxi or bus trip or a longer but interesting walk by road. we would stay there again!!
VIlla Lawana was our second hotel after staying a few days in Renaissance Resort, so we couldn't resist comparing both properties. Villa Lawana is a brand new resort in the north part of Chaweng beach that is unfortunately not as picturesque as in the south. However, the resort itself is doing its best to make up for this disadvantage. The service from arrival to check-out was great. Friendly and efficient as you can be used in Thailand. We called reception a few times throughout the stay and the response was always very prompt. The resort creates an impression of Scandinavian village with small alleys of 1-storey houses. The standard rooms are located on 1st floor and consist of spacious bedroom, large bathroom and balcony. The design is great and cleanliness excellent. Little perks like DVD player, fantastic bathroom amenities (which you can purchase as a gift at reception), decent gym or pretty extensive library with books, travel guides, CDs and DVDs are another plus. The cons? Not many, but definitely worth improvement. The bedroom has blackout curtains, however what’s the point if the door to bathroom is transparent and all the daylight comes through. We had to cover the door with towels, so we can get our sleep in the morning. There is no AC in the bathroom, so unless you run back to bedroom immediately after shower, you will be cover in sweat within a minute as the windows are covered only by blinds and all the heat is coming in. As mentioned, resort’s location is not the best. The beach is missing the beauty you will find more in the south. You will find a lot of small rocks and despite the fact that the hotel’s area is not big, it is not very well maintained. Shame. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Very small buffet with pretty basic selection at the price of THB880 per person. For the same price you can have decent dinner in some of the top restaurants in Chaweng! The selection and quality of food we ordered mostly at the pool wasn’t great an
Great stay at villa with pool”
We had a 11 night stay at Anantara Lawana in a villa with own pool. This hotel is great in all ways. Be aware that the bathroom in villas are semi-open and may attract a few mosquitos and gekkos. Also, after heavy rain it is usual to find a fiew bugs in the pool but the staff was very attentive and helpful in cleaning it. Lovely garden around the villa giving you privacy. This is a luxury hotel with all options available.
We stayed at Anantara lawana Resport and Spa for about 3 nights during the month of Sep 2012. The stay was really nice and the rooms were beautiful with all the qualities of a 5 star hotel. The breakfast spread was amazing and the staff were very nice as well. Overall it was a wonderful experience and would defiantly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Cheers
Superb Services from Anantara Lawana”
We spent 2 nights in Anantara Lawana pool access villa. It was a very private, clean and superb services from the staff team. Very impressed with all the level of staff from manager, our assigned assistance, support staff at the restaurants, facilities, maid and etc., they were keep providing services to our group until last minute we were there. Would like to thanks all of them again for giving us the best time over there.
Dear Roongroj, Thank you very much for you feedback followed your recent stay at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui resort! We do hope future plans bring you back to our beautiful paradise for another great experience! Best regards! Ahmed Bronji Guest Relation Manager
A great hotel blending nature with modernity”
This is our first time to Koh Samui and the stay at this hotel definitely made our trip more enjoyable. It has good location, within 5-minute drive from the airport and to the famous Chaweng Beach. We dined at the Sky Hug restaurant which was a nice and memorable experience. The spa is a must-try item, the skills and services of the therapists were so good that we felt like King and Queen. Staff of the hotel were generally nice, friendly and attentive, with good command of English. We asked for a birthday cake beforehand as this is a birthday trip for me, and it turned out that they gave us two cakes! However, the towels in our room were not too clean so we changed them often. Also, as a 5-star resort, the quality and service of the breakfast could be improved - the variety of food is limited; the made-to-order counter didn't seem to be ready even by 7.30 am (breakfast starts at 6.30 am!); the fruits were not covered and flies were hovering above them.
Gorgeous resort and fantastic service”
we stayed during the monsoon season and during the floods (not on koh samui) so the resort was very quiet and the weather was a bit so-so. for that reason, it was fantastic to be staying at such a lovely resort. i highly recommend the pool access room. we found the spa treatments great and the food from the room service menu was some of the best we had on the trip. the buffet breakfast was also phenomenal. overall, i don't have any complaints about this resort.
A divine experience”
We loved every moment of our stay at Anantara Lawana. The room was comfortable and clean, so private and quiet. The food was great, room service was quick and delicious and the breakfast buffet was divine. The pool and beach area were idyllic. The staff were attentive without being overly present. Perfect.
the best hotel in Samui”
the hotel is the best for people who r looking to have quiet and not having people interrupting them at the beach. taking a tuk tuk or a taxi to chaweng center is about 50-200 baht, which is nothing and very easy. next time in samui will be definitely in Villa Lawana
Nice Stay in Villa Lawana”
We stayed in Villa Lawana from the 23rd of September 2009 till the 28th. This is our second stay in Villa Lawana. We loved the Thai theme of the rooms, staff were very very nice. They even offered to upgrade us from private pool suite to the pool side villa. First time in 2008, we stayed in the pool side villa. The hotel was almost empty – after the shutdown of the airport - so we had the pool for ourselves. This time we chose the private pool suite and even refused the upgrade cause it was so nice. The breakfast is not bad. The room has a plasma TV, mini bar, all amenities and two umbrellas. I would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful stay at Villa Lawana”
I truly enjoyed my 4 nights stay at Villa Lawana. It was the week after the Sonkran festival and the hotel was relatively quiet. My friends and I were upgraded to a Grand Poolside Villa. The other villas were empty and we had the pool to ourselves which was really nice. It is easy to get to Chaweng from the hotel, a 15-minute walk but there are also many taxi's and tuk-tuks.
Lovely beachfront hotel & amazing service”
We had a wonderful 10 days stay at one of the deluxe room then the pool villa, which was fabulous. The service was the best, very attentive staff always helpful, the resort is beautiful surrounded by a tropical garden, stunning rooms, the hotel has a small private private beach, quite a few steps in the resort but a buggi is available. Only minus: no free airport pick-up/drop-off (8mn drive only), jellyfishs/sea urchins in the sea at that time, food and restaurants were not up to level compared to other Anantaras. But overall a peaceful and relaxing stay with an amazing service.
Dear Alex, Thank you very much for your great feedback and for your positive score following your stay at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort. The team and I are thrilled to know that you had a peaceful and relaxing stay with an amazing service. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Until then, warm regards, Ahmed Bronji, Guest Relations Manager
Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
We stayed at this hotel as part of our honeymoon. It was the best one we stayed at. Fantastic service and best food on Koh Samui Island. Bedrooms were spotless and location was nice and close to main shopping strip in Chaweng Beach.
luxurious hotel and service with a smile.... ”
Our 7 day stay in this resort was a memorable one due to unseasonal heavy rains, we were stranded for 2 extra days in samui. I was lucky that I chose this great hotel for my stay as we did not face any inconvenience during the flooding and black out in samui. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It has got a great gym and a huge award winning spa. the breakfast buffet was just too good catering to everyone's need. although it was pouring they organised a pool side party with live music which was entertaining. gym was operational even during power shortage outside the hotel. I am strongly recommending this hotel to all. library is not stocked up with much readable books but has got 2 computers with internet.
solo trip.. location is very close to center of town but far enough away that it is quiet. i walked up and down the beach multiple times an i can tell you that anantara was the nicest on chaweng beach... hands down. this hotel does not feel commercial, as it's settng is backed into a nice landscape with beautiful grounds, walkways, which are all tree lined. great staff always willing to help.. will plan to return..
