Awesome BUT...”
We booked the Spa Suite for our honeymoon that’s a suite with an own spa area on the balcony (incl. Massage bench). However nowhere on the information where mentioning that having massage in the own room would cost 50% more than having it in their own massage area. That’s quite annoying to know upon arriving there. Further we have also learned it’s better not to have it on the balcony because of the noises outside. Beside this the services and surrounding is nice (except of the many wedding photos taker next to us on the beach).

You might get a police visit.”
Location is good. The hotel is clean. The staff can speak English. Some who can't are willing to help. The room isn't new. The breakfast is ok. The Thai restaurant is good. The restaurant staffs are very friendly. The downside of our stay in this hotel is we had a police visit. On the last day when we came back from day tour in the evening and rested in our rooms. The reception called and asked 4 of us (my father, mother, me and my sister) to come down to the lobby because the police wanted to question us. Not telling what it is about. The police came and wanted to see our passports and visas. Luckily that my father can speak Chinese fluently. Nothing bad happen. If not, I won't think, I can write this review right now. How could this happen to ordinary visitors like us? We have answer. The next morning when we checked out, we saw the photo of an old guy who keep an eyes on us that evening on the front desk. One that day he followed us when we came down from the taxi and to the Thai restaurant. He did stare at us when we were at the table as if we did something terrible. We didn't know him so we didn't pay attention. He is kind of a government personnel who can stay in hotel and point out people who HE THINKS is suspicious. The receptions told us that this matter happens very often. And the hotel can't do anything about it. I mean a family with two old parents (in 70s and 60s) and grown children are suspicious? This has ruin our holiday.

Staff is not well trained”
1) no introduction of facilities when checked in 2) no greeting from staff when you walked in the hotel 3) after checked out, luggages was left in lobby with no proper protection and my luggage with medicine inside was exposed to sunlight for hours. Moreover, they did not put the luggage in luggage rooms which made the luggage at risk. My luggage lock was broken and fortunately I did not keep valuable stuffs in that luggage Overall speaking, my experience in other resort in other counties just like Club med and banyan tree are not valuable

Good Experience for my whole family ”
We stayed 3 nights in a Two Bedroom Villa with Private Pool and spent most of our time inside the resort. The villa was big and private. We really like the Thai style design and pool was big for doing laps. Service was good as we could communicate with the staff in Mandarin. Buffet breakfast has a wide selection and The Thai restaurant was very good. We ate there twice. They have a private beach but water was murky and no sea creatures for snorkelers. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable experience even for my kids who were teenagers.

Nice hotel, nothing in the local area”
Hotel is excellent, room and breakfast top of the list. Unfortunately there are only a handful of restaurants locally and no bars or entertainment.

Alright”
Not many 4 star above big chain hotels around dongdahai area. Great thai restaurant, ok breakfast not many varieties, pool is not as big as haitang bay. Beach is ok. Location is near to the mall. Rates are not attractive during holiday season. Rooms are typical Thai wooden design but still clean and big. Staff is ok but English still very basic. Recommend it if the rates are good.

Beautiful hotel but not 5 stars”
A beautifully designed Thai style hotel, but there were areas of disappointment as I stayed here for 3 nights with my family. I'll start with the good.... Pro's - Beautiful hotel, nice pool with lounge chairs and outdoor showers. Pool is also great for young kids. Value - This is a very good value for the money hotel, if you receive a price below the other large 5 star hotel chains (ie Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton) in Sanya. Rooms are of nice size, all new furnishings and the bed is very comfortable with a lovely balcony and outdoor furniture Now, onto the Bad....... Service - The service of this hotel is not of other 5 star hotels I've stayed at in Asia. I've lived in China for many years so I totally understand the language issues, but I'm talking about professionalism and understanding international management of people and providing good service to customers. The GM of this hotel is a older Mainland Chinese gentleman, who as I've watched him the past 4 days while staying at this hotel does not have experience with international customer service, as well as people management. He tends to manage people in a more traditional Chinese manner by simply thinking just his presence will improve their employees attitude and work ethic. The Location - If you spend much time at the beach, well then this hotel isn't for you. The beach at times was dirty, there are coral rocks that make it very difficult to swim in, and the water isn't as crystal clear as in Yalong Bay in Sanya. Plus you have to share the beach with many locals not staying in the hotel, or the neighboring hotel The InterContinental. Temperature of Hotel - The hotel is HOT! Its an open air concept hotel, and walking around the hotel you will be hot. The temperature in the room was also warm at times, esp at night. The thermostat in the room didn't seem to function properly, and down at breakfast we heard many customers complaining about this problem. Overall, its a good hotel, but it could be so much b
