Beautiful and relaxing but lacking in practical considerations for travellers”
We loved hanging out in Ananyana. The whole area was tastefully decorated and relaxing. There were plenty of lounge chairs and hammocks. So even on days where the sun was hiding, we had a nice time. The family room is of a good size too with a lot of natural light and a spacious bathroom. However, we couldn't get over the fact that there were no doors for the toilet and shower area. We were a group of four and you can imagine the discomfort of having practically no privacy when one of us had to use the bathroom.
The best service you can ever receive”
Words cannot be described how we've enjoyed the stay at Ananyana. The best service you can ever get! Everything was taken care of, even unspoken requests! (Another room was set up for us after our diving trip, so that we can have shower even we've checked out!) No TV in the room, so anyone whom does not appreciate the quietness of this place, be prepared and don't complaint.
Mervellous stay at Ananyana”
Exceptional stay in this wonderful hotel. Garden is very nice. Restaurant and patio are well designed. The pool is small but as the number of room is low it's not an issue. It's a luxurious hotel so the staff is very warm and listen client request but also know how to be discret. The beach is not exceptional because you have low tide and there are sea food. But if you swim less than hundred meter it's so wonderful you have exceptional alive corals with so many fish. It's so unlikely to find an hotel where the beach is a very nice spot for snorkelling. Good italian restaurant, it's quite rare to eat well in Philippines. Only Italian food but very good. I also advisse you to do a day trip excursion to see the chocolate hills. However the tarsier (it's a bit disapointing) Our stay was very relaxing and we really appreciate the warm staff, the clear water.
Amazing customer care and hospitality”
We went there as a part of a girl trip and to enjoy the scenery and diving. We had a great time and felt well looked after. The hotel is quaint and the staff very accommodating. We loved the views, the tranquility, the star fish and especially the sea life we saw while diving.
A place to relax and get away from the city life”
We had a good and relaxing stay at this hotel. If you have been to Bohol before, do not plan on doing the city tours, and just want to unwind and have a quiet time, then this is the place for you. The feel of the resort is very nice. The downside for me are 1) lack of food choices, it would be nice to have seafood (island type food) rather than all western food. We had to go to Alona Beach via tricycle to have good seafood and barbeque, which is ok since i havent been to Alona Beach. The tricycle though is quite expensive at Php200 one way! 2) Food and activties are a bit overpriced. I know the resort is probably better than any other resort in Alona Beach, but It would have been better if activties such as Island Hopping was abit cheaper. It costs around Php5,000 if you book with the them. I got our island hopping trip at Php700 for 2 people at Alona beach. For the price of the room, i hope the activties and food would be priced reasonably so that we do not have to leave the resort. But overall, I would still recommend this place and will definitely stay here again
Lovely, secluded, peaceful hotel”
To be honest, I chose the Ananyana because it was a good deal on Agoda and I didn't want to stay on the main "drag" of Alona Beach, but I'm really glad we found the place. It is the other side of the island from Alona and is alone on its stretch of beach, although another, larger resort is being built a bit further down. This meant that it was very quiet and there was only one other family there during the 3 days we stayed. I'm not sure why there were not more guests as it is a beautifully designed place with reasonably basic but very comfortable and well-designed rooms. The staff were without exception extremely friendly and helpful and, best of all, we were able to go diving with the resident dive master just by ourselves. Other boats we saw from other resorts were full of people, while ours were quite happy to take just the two of us. The diving was fantastic - absolutely stunning coral gardens and reef wall at Balicasag island with the typically abundant reef rish and great visibility of many places in the Philippines. Highlights were the giant turtles :) It's true that the beach isn't ideal for swimming, especially at low tide as the water is very shallow, but it's a very pretty and well-maintained beach with beautifully soft, white sand. The pool is small but perfectly formed and good for a refreshing dip. There is only one restaurant but they have at least 3 specials every evening and I found the vairety offered perfectly adequate, even for a vegetarian and occasional pescetarian. I would definitely recommend this thoughtfully-planned, relaxing place.
Good place out of the bustle of Alona”
Overall nice place. Best is location tucked away a bit from Alona beach, where it feels a little like any other overly touristic place with hawkers and hustlers, but close enough for easy access and staying there late at night. It's also located on the right side for sunsets :) Just rent a scooter the first day and go and come as you please. Room left nothing to wish for. Large clean and nice bathroom. Pool and general area for hanging out around the restaurant has a nice look and vibe to it. Food at the resort was good although a little pricier than eating at a shack at a random beach (obviously). Beach is nice but at low tide you have to walk really far to get to swimmable depth. This should not be done because of the array of starfish you'd trample plus it's a litteral mine field of urchins a little bit out in the seaweed. You have to swim all the way to the dive boats to reach the remaining part of the reef. Cons would be that it's a little pricy.

A hidden charm”
Very quaint location. Its perfect if you just want to unwind and be away from the crowded zones. Very personalized experience. The staff was extremely accommodating, courteous and was always there to help. Its thoughtfully rustic and the ants that do tend to creep into the room needs to be overlooked in order to enjoy the place. the swimming pool is small. The animals that come in the garden early mornings was a fun experience for my lil one. Overall a very pleasant stay and would go back again.

The area is really for relaxation. It’s secluded and our money is really worth it for it. ”
One thing I would suggest is that there should be indoors slippers bec our footwears might be muddy especially if it’s raining. For me, which is hygiene wise particular, It’s a must to have it. Thank you

A Lot Of Empty Lawn Chairs :(”
At the Doljo beach side of Panglao, there is not much to do, except swim and hangout at the beach. A “home feel theme” to the guests for quietness, relaxation, and to get away. If that’s what you want, then the Ananyana Beach Resort is for you. But, this 20-year “resort” is worn out, empty, and no updated look. There are minor repairs to tiki huts being done, the pool seems murky (maybe because of the black tile), the white sand beach has a lot debris—-very bland look. The rooms are clean and basic, but doesn’t translate to a resort status—no wow factor. Staff are friendly, but makeup room was missed. There are guards during night watch, but if something bad occurs, the armed guards from the Bellevue are alerted (2-3 minutes run away). There are A LOT improvements needed to update it, but according to staff, why? There are new Chinese investors interested. In the meantime, stay cost at Ananyana is on the high side (basing on Bellevue) so current management is basically fooling.
Relaxing place to be”
The staff were very nice. The place is very peaceful, the beach is gorgeous, its only 15mins tricycle ride going to Alona Beach. The cons maybe that there’s not alot of choices with the food. But over all its a fab location.
Way too overpriced! I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to pay more than 50usd per night”
The location is okay but the beach is not taken care of! A lot of garbage! The staff is friendly but they seem to be all students not experienced employees The resort doesn’t have a reception so you have to ask around the staff to call the manager if you have any inquiries The pool is small and dirty There are no shops nearby and their beverage and food prices are “out there” even compare to the nearest resort We planned for a week stay and left after 2 nights The rooms are okay but super basics If you want to crash for a night or two for 50usd would be okay But they advertise themselves as a high end resort and from the price they are asking we felt first time “robbed” in the Philippines ! In short: for a much lower price and without lies of their facilities on travel booking websites it’s an “okay” place But it looks like the management just wants to make money no matter what!
Definitely not a 4-star hotel”
Cons: 1. No reception desk. There was no one we could approach if we needed to ask anything. (This is a big "no-no") 2. Rooms had no telephone so you had to go to their kitchen/waiting area/lobby if you need anything. 3. Staff were untrained. Got our breakfast orders mixed up. We almost got left behind from our plane because they miscoordinate with our shuttle to the airport. 4. Bathroom gets flooded from the shower. 5. Resort is secluded and far from establishments. You also have to drive through a narrow road to get to the resort. 6. Food was expensive despite it being ordinary. We ordered spam and egg with rice but was given danggit (sun-dried rabbitfish) instead and was still charged P450 for that one simple dish. 7. No wifi at all. Pros: 1. If you want to have total r&r then this place is okay. Ambience isn't all that bad. 2. Beach front is available. 3. Rooms don't look so bad. But amenities are lacking.
Looking for "your own little spot" in this corner of the island? This is the place for peace and solitude. Tucked away from the crowd of Alona Beach, this resort is good for people seeking oneness with nature. The resort itself is very serene...with the staff being very helpful and friendly. Such disappointment to see that the beachfront is not as well kept as expected. The family room...as well as the facilities ---very basic. For the price...maybe they can consider offering a little bit more --- even give the rooms some facelift. The A/C was broken so we had to transfer to the next room. No security locks on the veranda 2nd floor adjacent to the next room. The next room guests can actually access the room if they wanted to. No TV. The A/C broken. The bathroom dividers are curtains --- good for couples but not groups that value privacy. However, the room is very spacious and can accommodate at least 6 people. Child friendly beach. I hope they will consider improving facilities...
It’s highly overpriced! The hotel standard is below average! You would like to think with the amount they charge you every night they can easily pay someone to clean their beach! The beach is full of rubbish you cant even swim! There is 1 sunbed. Breakfast is paid separately! Nothing in the minibar not even the basics i.e teabags, coffee, sugar etc..wifi is only available in the cafe! No TV in the bedroom! The road going to the hotel is a very rough road and full of rubbish on the side! No free shuttle service offered so you have to pay for a tricycle for 200php or taxi for 500php just going to Alona beach. Its a rip off!! Avoid at all cost!
Great place just to chill and really enjoy quiet time alone. Restaurant serves food and beverages which is great because the location is quiet a distance from other diners. Hot water is stable, room is fully air conditioned.
a little uncomfortable, but fully rested”
There is no phone in the room so I had to go directly to the staff to tell them the requirements. During the 2-night stay, the room was not cleaned and the towel was not replaced. I did not know who was the manager of the resort, and they did not have a reception desk. The location is a little uncomfortable, but I was fully rested. The resort was small but not crowded, so I was rather satisfied.
A quiet and relaxing weekend”
At Ananyana Resort we stayed in a Family unit with 2 single beds on the first floor and a king bed in the loft with a balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds and ocean. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There was no wi-fi or TV in the room but at the pool area and dining area wi-fi was very good.
