          Safe w/friendly staff but moldy bathroom”

          We appreciated the discount from Priceline.com when we were stranded in New York after our airline cancelled our flight out of LaGuardia. Kind staff offered smoking or non-smoking rooms but without an airline shuttle (about $30 for taxi). Large, cleaned up room in an older hotel without updated decor was fine for our situation and budget -- but mold on several upper tiles in the bathroom and a very dirty bathroom door was disappointing. Broken hairdryer and air conditioner didn't affect us but might make others uncomfortable.

          Simple hotel”

          Quiet place, far from the madding crowd

          The hotel is nice considering the price compared to other hotels in New York. Walking distance to several restaurants and fast food shops. Very convenient bus access that connects to subway system around New York, however, it takes at least an hour to reach Manhattan area. The breakfast is much to be desired.

          Never Again ”

          I reserved a king room on this site for the Anchor Inn. The price was not $64 like the site indicated— i paid $175. There were no rooms on the second floor so I settled for the only one on the 1st floor. The door was literally in the lobby. The jacuzzi tub was cracked and there was plaster and plastic placed to seal the many cracks. Stepping into the tub the heel of my foot sunk into a sinkhole— IN THE TUB! When I shut the bathroom door the shaky sliding mirrors that separated the bathroom and bedspace shook further out of line than they were when we arrived. The room smelt OLD N DAMP, I left the AC running all night to deal with the stench. If this wasn’t an emergency stop I would have left and found another hotel! In the morning we were looking frwd to the continental breakfast served from 7-10 am. It was 9 o clock and all was left was half a bagel n orange juice. The coffee machine only made black coffee n vanilla flavored hot water (“cappuccino”). Save your money & motel 6 it

          Ugh”

          Got delayed at LaGuardia overnight and looked for a nearby hotel to stay overnight. Anchor was cheap and moderately close. When I checked in, I was given a room that had not been cleaned after the last guest checked out; lights were on, TV was blaring, bed was unmade and garbage was all over the room. After I returned to the front desk, I was given a new room, but the surprise of the first room made me wary. The second room was dirty, some hairs in the bathroom, dust on furniture, etc. but I was tired so just laid down for a few hours before returning to the airport.

          great location but poor service”

          great location

          i chose this hotel for our new york stay because it is very close to my grandpa's house. the area is nice and convenient. the price is fair. but it is extremeley annoying when everything you tell the front desk, you have to at least tell them twice or even more. everything in this hotel is going to fall apart, from our stay, hair dryer is not working, safe is not working, toilet flush is not working. but mind you, when you inform all these to the front desk, you must remind them over and over.

          Pros: great location, staff at check in were friendly Cons: check out was at 11 AM at 11:08 I had the staff calling me in my room to tell me i need to check out. I stay at a lot of hotels and this was the first time for a hotel to do that. Usually they would give u some time to check out. Rooms are out dated and need renovation

          Nice but overpriced ”

          The room was fairly clean and neat, however, paying $200 for just a room with no pool or on-site restaurant is ridiculous. When I asked the man at the front desk for a second key for my husband he was so confused. He took my key then I said no I need an extra one because we were only given one key and there's two people. He got so flustered then made a very rude

          Thank you for the feedback. We will discuss the details with our front desk staff and train those that are not aware how to make multiple keys properly. This is something that is fundamental to the industry and there is no excuse for it.

          My room was clean and comfortable, except the noisy hallways and slamming of doors by patrons. When the doors are slammed the walls shake.

          Not good!”

          The front desk staff was rude, when I checked in there was no hello, I was rushed to fill out a form which by the way was not explaned what the form was for, and I was asked to sign something without reading what the paper was for. When I informed the staff member I have to read anything I sign, he had a attitude! He never explained anything to us about breakfast or check out and gave us one room card instead of 2! It was clear 2 adults was standing in front of him! Very rude approach and unprofessional manner! The room had no heat! The channel was bad on the TV! There was only 3 pillows on the bed and the bed was hard! The curtains was dirty the shower head was dirty! There was only bagels no eggs! For the price I paid for this hotel wasn't worth it! I will not stay at this hotel again!

          Thank you for the feedback. We have already spoken with our staff about being more friendly and clear about the registration forms at check in time. Unfortunately, your statement about not having any heat is baseless. Our system was up and running the entire Fall-Winter-and even now in the spring season. The TV system did have 2 or 3 of the 50+ channels that were out of service due to equipment malfunctions, they have all been replaced and working properly. Our standards rooms with 1 king bed do have 3 pillows on the bed plus an extra in the luggage bench (in each room). Perhaps you can provide in a positive tone, how many pillows were expected in this room type. As for the shower curtains being dirty as well as the shower head, the curtains are taken down and cleaned regularly and the shower heads have a brushed nickel finish, if the housekeepers forget to wipe them down they can have water marks on them. We will certainly speak to the housekeeping department to rectify the water spot

          Comfortable”

          The size of the room, clean, accessibility

          It was ok for the short time. The breakfast could be better. Fruit would have been nice. Only thing it is noisy in front of a major boulevard.

          Our toilet, TV, and phone were all broken. Our room did not cleaned, instead was left dirty with clean sheets placed folded on our bed to suggest we change the bed ourselves.

          worst ever”

          When you book and pay for a room, 2 months in advance, you kind of expect the room to be secured but not here. We were given another room, not much of an option. The noise in the hall, someone attempting to get into our room numerous times during the night and our car being broken into in the alley that is called the parking area. We left staying one night and I assure you never to return.
