Absolutely stunning location, and the loft suite was beautiful with a great space for our 1 year old to play.

Excellent service and hospitality”
The place is very nice and clean with oceanic scenery. We were truly impressed with the hotel services and fine dine cuisine. With the special help from front desk assistant, Lindsay who had rescheduled our reservation for dolphin cruise enabling us to board on a last minute alternative vessel without extra charges. We will definetely return to Anchorage Port Stephens when our next visit to Newcastle.
time out in a picture perfect place”
Looking for a place in Port Stephens where 3 generations of our family could meet up and relax together during the Christmas-New Year period, I found The Anchorage on the internet and it looked like the ideal answer: no-one would have to cook (the breakfast, which was included, was wonderful) and we could all enjoy being near the water in a beautiful location. I booked 3 rooms which were quite spacious and located side by side. The pool and nearby playground entertained the 3 pre-schoolers, and several of the adults were able to indulge in a very good massage and spa treatment. All of us had a wonderful time there.
Wedding Anniversary Celebration”
It was a really nice way to relax and enjoy local food at two local restaurants. We would have dined at The Anchorage but felt the prices were too expensive in the main restaurant. The breakfast was nice, but there needs to be more variety ie smoked salmon or fish, no a great deal of vegetarian options. Count us in as return guests in the future, the refurbishments are looking fantastic.
The Anchorage is a gorgeous place to stay to enjoy the surrounds of Port Stephens. A well maintained hotel. Lovely vistas of the marina and waterway. Quiet ambience. Clean & spacious rooms. Good comfortable beds. Great variety at breakfast.
We wanted a couple of days of peace and quite away from our busy lifestyle and the anchorage turned out to be perfect and exactly what we needed quiet surroundings a nice little beach to walk along and beautiful views from our balcony. All staff should be commended for there pleasant and helpful nature. I would recommend the anchorage to others and we will be returning again ourselves
Luxury by the sea”
The Anchorage has a very high standard in all aspects of its accommodation. Staff are extremely well trained, courteous and accessible. The rooms have been renovated to a good level of comfort and the restaurant has a consistently high standard of fine dining.
Relaxing and highly enjoyable”
We loved our mini holiday at The Anchorage. We were treated to an upgrade and bottle of excellent champagne once they learned that we were celebrating 26 years of marriage. That was a very welcome gesture. The breakfast was superb, as was the pool and and the location. We would love to return.
We just loved our stay at Port Stephen . But wasn't long enough . We would live to return .
Excellent all round faciltiy.”
Perfect. Wish we could have stayed longer. This is the third time we have stayed at the ANCHORAGE, have had no issues at all. Will be a great facility once the upgrades / renovations are completed. Keep up the good work.
What a great spot”
I can't wait to go back to The Anchorage. It's exactly the quick getaway we needed and the room was fantastic. Love the toiletries and every detail. Do yourselves a favour and book your stay here.
Great short break”
We had two nights at Anchorage and will definitely return. Rooms and service great with one exception. The hotel has a "one towel" policy at the pool and this is very aggressively policed. It so out of keeping with the vibe at the rest of the hotel but as you're by the pool to chill, it does matter
We were driving from Sydney to Queensland, and only had an overnight stay. We arrived early evening and left the next morning, so we didn't really utilise the facilities and water sports on offer. A very beautiful location and our room (214) was spacious and comfortable for myself and 1 teenager and incorporated a 'lounge' area and outdoor table & chairs. The pool looked lovely - but we didn't have time to use it. We had dinner at the restaurant and while the food was delicious, the portions were on the small side (my son ordered another dish after his main as he was still hungry). Wine prices were high. We both agreed we would like to come back and stay at the Anchorage and explore this beautiful area.
A beautiful resort”
We spent one night at The Anchorage and were so impressed with the room, restaurants, pools and location. Will definitely be back soon.
Fantastic - Loved it.”
SO if you love the water and looking at a brilliant peaceful view, go to Peppers Anchorage. (Changing hands in a few days so hope it stays as nice)
Serene, peaceful setting & well maintained property. ”
Beautiful location by the waterway of Port Stephens. View the boats at the marina while enjoying a meal. Peaceful & gorgeous vistas. Large guest room. Comfortable bed, clean and tidy surrounds.
Beautiful Hotel with Amazing Views”
We enjoyed our stay at the anchorage up until the last night as the patrons on either side and above were quite noisy. We were put off our breakfast by the cockroaches in the pavillion. There were so many and it was off putting to watch them climbing the walls.
very beautiful hotel”
the hotel is very beautiful, just next to a port, big room with large bed! u must have a car and there is a car park for you! strongly recommend!
A relaxing weekend getaway”
For a hotel that boasts such lovely views, has such attentive staff and is so quiet we felt that this was really great value for money. We also had to bring our young son along at the last minute and the staff were really accommodating. The meal at the restaurant was really nice and there were fantastic options at breakfast including a gluten free range of cereal and soy milk (which is something that our gluten and dairy free family were really pleased about). The rooms were quiet and comfortable with a really nice selection of shampoos etc. And there is nothing like waking up to a view of the water. There was also a playground near our room at the far end of the resort which provided our son with entertainment. All up I would really recommend this resort.
beautiful hotel and great staff”
we had 2 rooms, the rooms were brilliant, but we were disappointed the suna and spar wasnt open and we werent told that when we booked and we were really looking forward to it and even bought new swimmer to use in the suna and spar.I feel we should have been told when we booked other wise we might have stayed somewhere else. but having said that the hotel we perfect. very impressed.
Perfect location & clean tidy facilities.”
We are local to the area so explored nelson bay and shoal bay etc with snorkelling and swimming. Did not use facilities too much and preferred to eat external to the resort. We found price of food to be expensive, particularly breakfast.
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
